  1. lengthy and costly to be honest. Unless you are an early years teacher, electrician is probably your plan A: The skills assessment is no more or a problem time wise than dealing with AITSL but the gap training etc to work unrestricted adds up and takes up to 12 months. If you have savings behind you then this shouldn’t cause too much issue. Perhaps start with a points calculator for each of you and take initial meeting with a MARA agent. Most don’t charge for it as it’s part information part sales pitch. The down under centre is the place I the uk for sparkie skills assessments. If you decide to take this route, happy to explain what is involved to your partner. One thing to remember is that your partner will have to take the assessment no matter what to get the OSTR. .
  2. Than you @Cristina. I will just estimate them as best I can in that case. I’m expecting contact either way as I’ve held off the medicals/ PCC. Got some loose ends to tie up before moving so want to give myself as much time as possible after grant.
  3. Hi All, Please could any of you share your experience with form 80. I am a little concerned about how specific I need to be with travel and dates. I can barely remember any of them and have no stamps in my passports! Could strike lucky and not be asked but as most appear to be, I thought I may as well start filling out.
  4. If I remember correctly the EOI only asks for your highest education i.e the one you are claiming points for. When you get to the visa application you will need to tell them everything. Not for points but to help them assess your character. Could be wrong as it was a fair few months ago that I completed the EOI.
  5. You won’t be asked to prove you have funds to get the visa but you will need them as the whole process costs a fortune.
  6. Looks very nice! Can I ask what your position is on pets?
  7. Has anyone registered with the South Australia TRB? I am trying to research how much of the application can be done before landing in Australia but struggling. I know there is a 1day training course before they will fully accept registration but do I have to complete this before I start the application? I was hoping to hit the ground running and have heard some whispers the process can take 3 months.
  8. We set one up with Westpac a couple of months ago. We supplied Passports etc and was told that’s everything and you can just pick up debit cards when you get to Australia. The guy did also say we could have cash cards now if we wished. Everything is sorted through their London branch and you get a contact person. Ours so far has been pretty helpful and responsive.
  9. Could be a daft question but did you click the information provided button? I don't think the clinic automatically inform the case officer.
  10. Depends what state you head to but there’s a list of providers here. http://e-oz.com.au/?page_id=105 ill try and locate the pricing info again on the pc tomorrow and I’ll send you a link.
  11. Honestly, I think your clutching at straws Do you think DIBP look at all applications within 5 weeks and then say looks ok let’s keep em in suspense for 10 months now. It’s just luck of the draw depending on work load. As verystormy said could be 10 days could be two years.
  12. No preference. All based on point score of main applicant. If you have partner with required skills the you get an extra 5 points but other than that nothing.
  13. At this moment nobody under 70 points has been getting invited for 189.

  15. Most agents agents will give you an initial consultation, probably for free or a minimal fee. You will get a good understanding of your options then. I’ll drop you a pm for the rest to keep this thread early years.
  16. It might but not completely sure. Weirdly I am an electrician and wife early years so can help either way. Sparkies are definitely in demand. Skills assessment are more expensive but he would have to it regardless to register.so money isn’t lost. Your route is more straight forward and you may have more points because of the degree etc. So check that route out first. If you go the electrician route, I can at least tell him what to expect.
  17. There was one person here that did a primary PGCE but dropped lucky by teaching under the age bracket on all placements. We don’t know for sure. They seemed to be more interested in supervised teaching than anything else in our case but that’s not to say others haven’t done it. Wait for others to chip in and maybe speak to a migration agent. .
  18. Hi Amfox, It’s the supervised teaching practice that AITSL appear to be rigid on. Were the children under 8 for all placements? When we submitted my wife’s application they insisted on a letter from Birmingham university detailing the age range of the children taught whilst supervised. This is just our experience however and the masters ticks a lot of boxes for you. Feel free to PM for any more info re application process to AITSL and we will help if we can.
  19. I think it’s around $2000 - $2500 onshore. Only briefly looked though as I’m not quite at that point yet. The down under centre let you start it in the U.K. but it’s around $4000.

  21. So he does [emoji23] I was too fixated with the costs.
  22. Is that for both dogs? Are you including the quarantine fees in that? I would be interested in getting a quote from you for my dog.
  23. You should be all good ? Good Luck with everything Goes without saying but go for max points as below 70 is a long wait at the moment. Me and my wife had 70 and waited 4 months for an invite.
  24. There is a lot to do but take one step at a time and stay organised. If it becomes too much then use an agent. just remember that most of what you submit to anmac will be what you submit to dibp and once your successful will also submit to aphra. So keep copies organised to make your life easier. I take it you have calculated how many points you can get prior?
