189 visa - points for Early Childhood Teacher
Jsmull87 replied to TeacherSkel's topic in Working and Skilled Visas
I can’t see there being an issue with it as long it covers their specified age range. Just get your university to write a letter stating all the facts. My wife’s case was straightforward as she had a bachelors in early years and a PGCE in early years so your best best bet is to contact AITSL or go through their website.- 22 replies

Vetassess Electrical skills assessment in Blackburn
Jsmull87 replied to Colshy86's topic in Working and Skilled Visas
Did mine in London but sure it’s similar. It’s electrical principles and theory. Mostly science based. If you had asked this question two weeks ago I could of sent you the practice material I had but I had clear out and binned it. They do supply a sheet with formulas etc. The questions are mixed in style. Few maths style (show your working out) some mult choice and some briefly explain. -
Obviously I did! I just wanted to know if any one else had experienced anything similar. just seems odd they would miss a passport. As it was uploaded in proof of age evidence as well and all the details were supplied on the form.
-
I think my post also tagged them. So they may pop up when they have time.
-
Agree with above - Speak to a migration agent. There’s obviously a few complications with your case so better to ask the experts. @Richard Gregan, @Raul Senise, @wrussell, @Alan Collett , You could try these guys?
-
I would say contact one of @Richard Gregan, @Raul Senise, @wrussell Or @Alan Collett

If your occupation is not on the list then you can’t even apply. You would need to pass a skills assessment before you submit an expression of interest. Maybe speak to a registered agent to see if there are any other closely related occupations that you could work towards. Either way don’t waste your time or money until you know you have a good chance success and don’t make any false claims as it will damage your chances in the future if the occupation did make it onto the list.

This morning i received a request for further information from a case officer (should be happy) but the request was for a copy of passport for 2nd applicant which had already been provided. I had uploaded in the section for proof of competent English. Has anyone had a similar experience? As I say I should be happy that is all they found wrong at this point (did application myself) but i’m actually a little annoyed because it will now sit in the pile for a while. I had to plan out an ETA for case officer and had medical/PCC last week expecting contact this week.

AITSL support (Final Transcript??)
Jsmull87 replied to missbell88's topic in Working and Skilled Visas
When I submitted my wife’s application with PGCE I included both transcripts which she had. One from university of Chester and one from university of Birmingham so they do provide them with certificates. It’s so the asesssor can see what units/ credits are covered by your degree. I also had to source a signed letter from Birmingham stating how many hours supervised teaching practice the wife had as the transcript did not list it. Another reason they may want your transcripts. Remember they expect 4 years of university over there so they want to see dates.- 24 replies

Air conditioning / refrigeration job search
Jsmull87 replied to will87's topic in Careers and Vacancies
Its pretty much the same for us sparky's and from the replies I got it is doable. Probably on a lower wage but doable. I am told there are also local schemes when you arrive that will help you with getting licences etc. to the point of subsidised or even free training. I'm a little bit ahead of you in the process and also heading to Adelaide so im happy to share any info i find with you. I got some very good replies posting here also https://www.pomsinadelaide.com/forum/10-jobs-careers-vacancies/ If you have linkedin or seek apps make a note of companies that advertise for your skills. I doubt many tradies get jobs before landing but you can specifically target these companies when you arrive. Have a read here also. -
Sorry, I appear to be in the same boat here. What is that? Picking things out the advert and tailoring it?

Appreciate the feedback. Our life has been on hold since we sold our house and moved in with wife’s parents. We have to be careful that the desire to get moving quicker doesn’t see us buying a large quantity of snake oil[emoji23][emoji23]. Tbh I got some good advice on another thread. We should have enough savings to ride out a couple of months so we will just take it as it comes when we land. Cheers James

Am I correct in thinking this is the Gap training such Aussie regs? Then I still need to do a log book after that. Do you by any chance know what it costs? There is a company in the U.K. that let you start things whilst here but it appears to be at a premium. cheers james

Hi Elton, I’m beginning to see everything is do it their way for a cost. I should hopefully have enough saving to get by for 4 months so I will just take it as it comes How long have you been out there? Is the lifestyle worth the effort [emoji23] Thanks for input. Really appreciate it [emoji106] Cheers James

You might get some good results using LinkedIn as opposed asking for recommendations here. Search for in house recruiters in the area you live or want to live and approach them with a CV. Approaching companies you think would be a good fit will likely yield better results than recruitment agencies.

Just wondering if anyone has looked into or used any of the Nadine Myers websites/ Services. Another forum appears to champion the job search strategy and resume templates but no detailed feedback. Are CVs that much different on Australia?

Appreciate it. I will look into skills SA this weekend ?

Sounds like you definitely need to speak to agent. So that’s your next step. Site admin appear to recommend this guy quite often. He does visit the site. Richard Gregan - https://www.overseas-emigration.co.uk/meet-the-team/ Also sign up to the down under centre webinars. Next one is 4th sept i think. Free and a good place to ask questions

http://www.visabureau.com/australia/medium-and-long-term-strategic-skills-list.aspx Can you meet the criteria for any of these? Do you have any electrical qualms already? Anything you claim points for would have to be heavily backed up later so experience would be a struggle .

Mara agent is definitely a good step. Most will do a free consultation so you know the facts. Also agree with Amber in that the points for age will balance out the degree and you may find it doesn’t hold the same value over there. Can I ask who’s skills you plan on relying on?
