We are considering a move to Melbourne in July 2019 (ish). One of the many hints we need to find out before we make a final decision is around uni fees. Our two eldest kids will be finishing sixth form in June 2019 ready to start uni in Jan 2020 in Oz. Both will be permanent residents, were coming in on my Nursing qualification visa, in most probability.

I cant see that they we will be eligible for any sort of student loans, so does this mean we'd have to pay their tuition fees in full?! Just can't see that being something that is doable, so if so this is likely a deal breaker :-(

	Any advice?

I and mywife (Non-Australian citizens) are PR holders from 2015; having an active visa (offshore). My wife delivered a kid 3 weeks back and I just got his passport done. I am planning to apply for my baby's PR visa. I called DIBP office and they provided information "please check the wedbsite - all relavant information is available there". I am so confused with the amount of information that is on the website - subclass 101 or Form 1436 etc. Anyone with recent experience could share your thoughts and help me please.

	Thanks

We moved back to the UK and our PR visa had expired. Does this now allow us to withdraw our Australian pension that we paid while we were there? I know temporary visa holders can get there pension when they leave and wondered if PR visa holders can if the visa is expired?

first up, I am not British, so I hope I won't get kicked out of this forum immediately
I am from Austria, and married to a New Zealander. As we lived in NZ for several years I have gained NZ permanent residence. In 2012 we relocated to my native Austria where our two sons were born, they both have dual Austrian and NZ citizenship.
We are now considering emigrating to Australia within the very near future. I know that as a New Zealander my husband does not require a visa to live and work in Australia, but Austrians do. Given that my circumstances are a bit "special" (married to a NZ citizen and having NZ permanent residence) I was wondering if you could advise as to if and which visa I need to look into and which requirements would come with it (medical, language....)
I'd really appreciate and help and insights!

On the document checklist we need to send in evidence that we are settled in Australia.

I'd like an idea of what other people sent in to fulfil this, how many different documents are reasonable?

My sole income if from a company pension paid in the UK but transferred monthly to my Australian bank account. The amounr varies with exchange rates but is currently around $50,000 per year.

I was told some time ago that over 60s on an private pension under $70,000 you do not have to pay tax. However, lately, things I've read imply that this only apples to pensions paid in Australia and my UK pension might be taxable. Anybody know the details of this?

FYI, transferring the pension fund to Australia is not an option--as I say, it's a company pension and the total sum is shared by all elliible employees on a "final salary" basis.

I have done extensive research on every aspect, however the one thing I cannot understand is how Dental Care is paid for? I have been looking at the various insurance providers and the extras they offer, however no one seems to offer anything like enough cover to actually pay for things like braces? (I read braces are about $6K, the most cover I can find is $1.2K Per Annum)?

	How is this handled?

Also how does the LHC work? I was hoping to make do with Medicare but it seems we may have to get hospital cover anyway?
