  1. Hey Will, I know how you feel, the tests are so frustrating and I’ve spoken to so many that have had to resit loads of times. I finally passed mine last week- I used the e2 language videos from YouTube and they showed me where I was going wrong. It does take a lot of practice but it can be done - my English is awful and even I passed! There were 800 invites in the first round of invites this new financial year which is a really good sign - people with 70 points before March were invited. There is a round of invites expected this Wednesday so if they continue with 800 it won’t take long to get an invite with 70 points. Just a point to remember- if you go state sponsorship you don’t have to be in the middle of nowhere - I have a 190 for NSW to work in Sydney because that’s my plan even if I get the 189. So either route you can get where you want to be. Best of luck with your PTE test and hope you get an invite soon! Patrick
  2. Yes they are both permanent residency visas with the190 having a two year commitment to your nominating state. Depending on the state and job you apply for it can be quite quick or painfully slow for exampe -I’ve heard that Northern Territory never does a 190 while other states do big batches of invitations at random times in the year hope this helps
  3. From what I can see online - it looks like they are going to be offering about 15000 - 189 visas again this year. People did get invites last year on 70 points even when invite rounds dropped to 600 so I am hopeful that I will get an invite but I have also put in for the 190 just in case. It will largely depend if they do invites evenly spaced across the year or large batches. I have read quite a few people now moving to the 489 visa as well to try their luck with that one
  4. Its my understanding that the job is taken into account when you apply for a 190 visa so I have applied for both types.
  5. My understanding is that for the past few months there have only been 600 invites per month for the 189 visa which has meant only 75 points getting the invite recently. Most are estimating that the invites will go up to about 1000 or 1200 per month now that the new financial year has started. That should see people with less than 75 getting the invite but still a bit of a wait. My migration agent had said that it doesn’t matter about your job for the 189 (except for pro rata jobs) - it all comes down to points and those with the higher points get called.
  6. Yes it came 9 weeks after they had acknowledged receipt
  7. Im hoping to get 75, English test this weekend
  8. Thanks guys I guess I’m just a worrier here is hoping it’s positive news when it arrives
  9. I received an email today from AITSL to say that my assessment has ben processed and will be posted to me. It doesn't actually state if it was successful or not, has anybody any experience of this? I kind of expected they would say it was successful or that I would get asked for more information if it wasn't to be successful. any help would be appreciated
  10. Have to say I caved and hired a MAGA today. I am sure that I would have been able to do it myself but i think it will be quicker and smoother with an experts help. Reading some peoples accounts on here - where they had to wait months to be told they were missing information has made me think that its worth hiring someone. She has already highlighted several things that have held other applications up that were similar to mine so i can preempt those issues.
  11. Thanks for the info, i am probably just worrying for no reason, its very frustrating having to wait on one thing before you can do the next but i guess im in for a long road ahead so may just get use to it
  12. Hi all, So the general advice seems to be -its best to fill in the form 80 and include at the beginning of the process to speed things up just a bit stuck on the travel history for the past ten years - how specific do you have to be? I couldn't recall dates of holidays from almost a decade a go- I would be lucky enough to recall the month and year! I also live in Northern Ireland so frequently travel throughout the UK and Ireland - does that count as international travel because technically I could do all of that travel by car and without a passport if i wanted to? Really worried about filling it in wrong and then adding months on to the whole process- I am not getting any younger lol
  13. So I am claiming points for 9 years work experience - the last 7 years should be ok as I have references form the Principal and my contract - the first two years all I have so far is a reference from the school with the details of when I worked there I have asked the HMRC for the P60 for the last 9 years Does anybody know if this is sufficient evidence for the 189 or 190 visa application?? between this and the Form 80 I am thinking of hiring a migration agent to help - other than this i think i would be ok on my own because its a pretty straight forward set of circumstrances
  14. thank you so much for the reply - this whole process has me on edge Can I ask if you've gone ahead and applied for a visa?
  15. I if you could send me their information that would be fantastic- thank you!
