887 Application In Progress - Change Of Circumstances?
JetBlast replied to JetBlast's topic in Working and Skilled Visas
Where is the line? What do and what don't we have to keep them updated about please? -
Processing times can be found on this page: https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/skilled-independent-189

It is possible. A migration agent posted on here pointing someone in the right direction. The OP responded saying they managed to get it sorted.

Regardless of the packaging I wouldn't take it anyway. 1. The tuners are different here - you might not get all the channels (if any?) 2. If it's a smart TV most of them can't be changed to a new region. You might be stuck with the British apps that you can't use in Australia and unable to install Australian apps.

There was me getting excited when I found $10 when the first time I put my coat on this winter!
-
The new government have said they are going to give priority to the backlog. The 887 PR queue is nearing 2 years, so they may move the resources away from new applications (such as the 190) onto this, this is my speculation though.

If I hadn't filled out the paperwork and notified them I would have received nothing.
-
I certainly did - and got a nice tax refund as a result!

This is makes you elebible t to apply for the 887 visa. This is not a requirement for the 489. Whilst you are on a 489 you can only live and work in a regional area. You cannot live or work in an area that isn't on the postcode list whilst you hold a 489. However, if have applied for your 887 and your bridging visa is active you can live and work anywhere. The same applies for a granted 887. I have attached an extract from my grant letter - "Must Say In Specified Area". You should check yours and VEVO.

Visa application submitted 3 mins late
JetBlast replied to Bluey128's topic in Working and Skilled Visas
In what time zone. Remember some parts of the country are in different times than others. So it won't be as much as an issue as you think! -
The processing times are quite long at the moment. You might not have enough time to renew them on a visit.
-
If they decide they don't want to let more migrants in I hope they improve the processing times for those already here. I applied for my 887 a year ago and there has been nothing at all and it looks like I will have another 12 months wait. It's not just myself it impacts. My Australian partner is impacted.

I didn't say they did. I am highlighting that in some circumstances you can get Medicare on a bridging visa in order to help other who stumble across this post and have applied for another visa. This is possible as the title of this thread is quite broad and not specific to parental visas.
-
I am posting this for anyone reads this and is wondering why the OP cannot get an interim Medicare card. This is offered to permanent resident applicants with the exception of parent visas. The OP falls into this category and the 804 is an "Aged Parent visa". People who are in Australia on a bridging visa with a skilled PR (and others) application are eligible for an interim card (a blue card) and are also entitled to elective surgery. I just thought I would add this incase someone reads this at a later time and gets the wrong end of the stick.

I have the HSBC Qantas credit card on a 489. No issues at all.

Names of non-migrating members of the family unit
JetBlast replied to Aditya's topic in Family / Partner Visas
A married siblings are not part of the family unit so should not be entered in this section. They should be entered in "other family members". Populating in the family unit section will mean they are asked to provide documents for these people when the application is paid for. -
I don't have a degree either. I had a job offer before I arrived into SA and another the week I arrived. I also applied for a job, a was offered the position (but later refused) that specified a degree as mandatory. i would make sure you address why you have equivalent experience in your cover letter.

I can't comment on your particular industries but there seems to be a general lack of skilled workers in South Australia.

June 2021 - Exactly 11 months.
-
I am also waiting for my 887 - I fully appreciate your position.
-
I am sorry to say - the processing times have changed. 25% of applications: 18 months 50% of applications: 19 months 75% of applications: 21 months 90% of applications: 25 months No obligation to work in same profession you migrated on. I know a few 887 holders who didn't You will be fine.

Before you applied and moved these type of things would have gone through your mind. At the time how did you think you would handle it? When thing happen like this the mind can snowball and make you feel worse. Could you try and get back into that mindset from the early days? Easier said than done
