It’s not all good news for some. I came across someone online who was on a 489, applied for the 887. Their 489 expired and was on a bridging visa, they moved to a metro area as they can do on a bridging visa. Their 489 was the. Extended and suddenly active again replacing the bridging visa, as a result they are now in breach of the rules…

I agree it’s a problem everywhere. I lived in the north of England and now live in Adelaide. It was much worse where I was in the UK compared to here. Some areas have it worse than others - it just depends on what areas you’re comparing.

ah yes - I went through immigration and they are the ones who checked my passport. I always have issues with the electronic gates in the UK. Seem fine in Australia - ironic considering it's a British passport.

Customs don't usually check passports. They are more interested with what you're bringing into the country. Thinking about it, I don't remember ever being checked at Manchester airport.

I know someone who's wait for the 887 visa had past the 75% mark published on the website and approaching 90%. They used a form on the website(Global Feedback I think it was called) and a few days later they receive their grant.
