  2. Depending how much you have see if you can find someone with a container with empty space. I found someone, put a few boxes in theirs. I saved money, they had some extra $. Everyone wins.
  3. Generally, Australian companies don't have issues spending money - unlike the British.
  4. Hit the nail on the head. I am on the flip side. If I knew my 489 could be extended I would have gone to NZ for a short trip.

  7. If you was offshore any time between 01/02/2020 - 14/12/2021 you will receive the extension. Regardless of you’re onshore now and have an 887 application underway. i assume the said person was overseas for a time and had an exemption to return. https://covid19.homeaffairs.gov.au/regional-visa
  8. It’s not all good news for some. I came across someone online who was on a 489, applied for the 887. Their 489 expired and was on a bridging visa, they moved to a metro area as they can do on a bridging visa. Their 489 was the. Extended and suddenly active again replacing the bridging visa, as a result they are now in breach of the rules…
  9. In SA I have never been asked to prove my vaccination status to attend a venue. Nor do I know anyone who has.
  10. The visa rules are managed by the federal government. The visa rules are the same across all states. You might be getting confused with the quarantine requirements that have recently been reflexed in Queensland.
  11. Yes. Once the visa is issued the primary / secondary applicant is no longer a thing. The secondary can apply for the 887 in their own right.
  12. Last time I used the service it was a better exchange rate than MoneyCorp that everyone on here seems to rave about. HSBC provide it as part of their global view current account service.
  13. It is a systems bug. This attached message is displayed when you log into the portal.

Usually they will pay the whole bill and invoice you for the usage charge. Council Rates and Emergency Service Levy is paid for by the landlord. There is no TV Licence. You will also have pay for internet and contents insurance if you want it. If the property is brand new and has never been connected to NBN you will face a $300 connection fee. If the property has been connected before or is an older existing that has never been connected to NBN there is no connection charge. Regardless of the expiry date on the certificate the Department of Home affairs accepts certificates dated 3 years ago https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/help-support/meeting-our-requirements/english-language/superior-english So you should be able to upload your PDF certificate you was issued when you sat the exam?
  16. It's in the South Australia board so I am going to guess Adelaide. I live in the Southern Suburbs of Adelaide and from my experience you will have enough to live comfortably.
  17. I work in IT and buys millions of dollars of Electronic items every year. I generally find that Australia isn’t more expensive. (I know you said “as a consumer” but it’s still a good indicator). For example, the base model iPad Air is $899 in Australia. The same device is $1,095 (£579) in the UK. 18. I agree it’s a problem everywhere. I lived in the north of England and now live in Adelaide. It was much worse where I was in the UK compared to here. Some areas have it worse than others - it just depends on what areas you’re comparing.
  19. Hello, The reciprocal card is for essential care only. I would very much doubt this classes as essential. Thanks

    UK VISIT

ah yes - I went through immigration and they are the ones who checked my passport. I always have issues with the electronic gates in the UK. Seem fine in Australia - ironic considering it's a British passport.

    UK VISIT

Customs don't usually check passports. They are more interested with what you're bringing into the country. Thinking about it, I don't remember ever being checked at Manchester airport.
  22. I know someone who's wait for the 887 visa had past the 75% mark published on the website and approaching 90%. They used a form on the website(Global Feedback I think it was called) and a few days later they receive their grant.
