  1. I used this voucher code (in 2016) to get 10% discount for the PTE exam if this helps. - PTE2015
  2. Did you get that 7 in the IELTS or PTE? It loks like a IELTS score as PTE scores are much higher. Have you seen these PTE resources? - https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0BxSAhiEs5XzvX3lNSnRxc3NWcU0&usp=sharing English is probably going to be your best chance at getting the extra point. You will need score of 79 in each area in the PTE exam.
  3. Oh right, I didn't know you was so far in. Has the ACS only recognized 6 of the years as skilled work or is it an actual deduction?e Now your in the queue can you make any changes like this? How did you do with the English? Did you get the full 20 points with this?
  4. I don't think that would count. You will need a minimum of 60 points to apply, I think with your work experience you will pickup 15 points as its 8 of the past 10 years skilled work (providing your experience is skilled). But I think you will also need a certification from the attached list. If you get a certification from the list and 3 years experience after it you will get 10 more points. You can also get points for your age & English language ability (you will have to take a test). How old are you? If you are looking for an agent, this company is very good, they are specialist in IT applicants. - http://www.ptlabs.com.au/
  5. Do you have any IT certifications? CCNP's or MCSE's will help. From what I understand you will not be deducted anything for having a degree that isn't in IT. It will just be ignored for the assessment purposes.

    Hello!

Hello! I thought I would introduce myself. I am a 25 year old working in the IT industry, from the North West of England who would like to go to Australia, more specifically Brisbane. I have been to Australia loads of times in the last 10 years and did a working holiday visa that ended back in 2012. Since then I have always wanted to go back on a more permanent basis, but wasn't in a position to do so. Until the summer I hadn't been back since the working holiday visa as it would make me want something I couldn't have even more. However I am now in a position to start doing something about this. I am doing my PTE exam soon and most of stuff for my ACS assessment is ready. So Hello everyone, and thanks for taking the time to post. This is a very useful resource! JB

This looks really helpful. Thanks! I am currently prepping for the exam. English has never been my strong point (Maths i can do easy!), so every little helps.
  8. In economy on the Emirates 777 you have 10 seats across. On Singapore Airlines you get 9 seats across, Emirates have narrower seats to squeeze another person in. On routes between the UK and Australia they are a similar price in Economy. Singapore also has the added benefit of Changi Airport, transit is so easy. Business Class price vary massively between Singapore and Emirates. However If they are a similar price for me it would be Singapore again, the business class product is similar to many airlines first class. On the 777-300ER / -200ER seat is much larger on Singapore. On Singapore the seat is nearly twice the width and all seats have guaranteed isle access. The layout on Singapore is 1 - 2 - 1 and Emirates is 2 - 3 - 2. However the A380 is similar on both airlines, it all really depends on your routing. Hope this helps someone.
  9. Wouldn't it be easier to use cash? Will save all the hassle. There are many small shops and business, machines etc that will not accept card payments.
  10. Don't worry about it. Those cards are just used for processing you at the airport. It does say "length of intended stay". You intended to stay for 6 months but ended up staying longer. You have done nothing wrong. https://www.border.gov.au/EnteringorleavingAustralia/Documents/english-ipc-sample.pdf
  11. Hi, I am using PTlabs at the moment, I also have a friend who got a visa with them. I am not that far on in the process, I am sorting out my ACS assessment at the moment. If you partner works in IT he will be a good agent as this is his specialty. If Peter isn't very confident you will get a visa he won't take you on, so its quite a good indicator as to how realistic this would be for you. Although I am not far on in the process I would recommend him going on how things have been dealt with so far. Best of luck!
  12. Hi, Does anyone know if these guys are still in business please? I have tried to phone a few times and it keeps going to answer phone. I have also tried to email but no reply. I am interested someone who can advise and sort a visa out. I work in IT so someone along that line would be helpful. I spoke to someone independent who wasn't very helpful, i don't think he was taking me seriously. Thanks
