  1. Nope, you have been granted the visa The Visa information is stored against your passport number. I would also print your grant email just for backup. If you change your passport you will need to get this sorted out. It isn't. If you go to a state hospital and you require treatment, show them your passport and they will bill the NHS. You shouldn't have an issue with this either as a certain amount of funds ins't a requirement. The idea of the WHV is to work to fund the trip.
  2. It says that but mine took 3 weeks to process.

    Agents

It might be worth mentioning the occupation as well. Some agents are specialists in certain areas.
  4. When i lived in Brisbane I used mine all winter. Some people sleep with air conditioning on, so they might be useful then to keep the cold air off.
  5. Hi, Please can we setup secure logins so passwords are not sent over the internet in plain text? You can use Lets Encrypt for certificates it is free and trusted by all the major browsers. Thanks
  6. Case? Pun Intended? I arranged this for a friend around 18 months ago and it wasn't an issue. Briefly explained the visa had been activated and why that was needed and then told them this is the actual migration flight. They could probably tell the other flight wasn't a migration flight as the return ticket was used.
  7. That is incorrect. They will do it for validated visas providing you didn't use the extra allowance for your validation trip.
  8. Singapore Airlines will allocate you 10KG each extra if you contact them ahead of time. Add that to your 30KG allowance (assuming your going economy) that will give you 40KG each. You can spread the 40KG across many cases.
  9. The cost is one of the reasons I am doing it now. I am in a good position. I live at home in the UK, I am single and have no ties. When I get to Australia I have relatives who are willing to put me up (lived with them on my WHV), so if I am out of work for a while I won't be hemorrhaging money. I also plan to move with just a few cases of belongings so won't be spending a fortune shipping items.

  11. Apparently so yes. However I have never taken the IELTS so this is second hand information.
  12. Hi, You can retake your English, you can get a max of 20 points in this areas if you get a superior. You could try PTE instead of IELTS. Some information is here - https://www.border.gov.au/Lega/Lega/Form/Immi-FAQs/aelt For the 10 extra points you need you need 7.0 in IELTS or 65 in PTE. You won't get any additional points for the certification as you have 15 for the qualification already. Thanks
  13. Hello fellow school worker! I work in a few academies myself in the North West area. Anyway.... How many years did you spend at university? For a teacher I think you will need to have a minimum of 4 years study. On the experience thing I am not sure for a teacher as I am support staff, but I think there really isn't any options. But I was in the same situation as you, I wanted to move over and needed more experience. I just kept my head down and got a few more years experience. I am now 25 and have the experience I need. I also used those years to save up like mad as the whole process is really expensive!
  14. When you get a driving ban in the UK you need to reapply for you licence. Can you just reapply for you UK licence from Australia, when you get that go and get the Vic licence to usual way?

  19. I was stuck on the M62 for 6 hours about a year ago. New I should have taken the train! The distances are huge. On a smaller scale, Brisbane is a big city. For example you can take a 40 min drive from the CBD to the north side. In the UK, for example Manchester if you get off from the center and drive for 40 minutes you will be out of the Manchester area and have driven through other towns.
  20. You can see the list of occupations here - https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Work/Work/Skills-assessment-and-assessing-authorities/skilled-occupations-lists/SOL
  21. Congrats! At the moment it seems like a road block I can't get around.
  22. Not sure yet. A friend has offered to tutor me, but she is away for the summer. Might wait until September, I rather wouldn't, but needs must.
  23. Hello, Welcome to the forum. I am also an IT geek. It's rare to find a job in Australia whilst being out of the country. Your best of getting your visa, going to Australia then finding a job. I am going to apply for a 189 visa (once I get my English exam passed!) and that will be under the Computer Network and Systems Engineer occupation. If you are looking for a migration agent I can recommend this company - http://www.ptlabs.com.au/. - The person running the firm only deals with IT professionals going to Australia. Thanks
