  1. As someone who works as a senior member of staff in a number of schools in the UK (both primary and secondary) I wouldn't believe everything you read in the press. Yes they have had cuts but they are not strapped for cash. Some would argue the cuts have been of benefit as school traditionally blown a lot of money.
  2. Can I shamelessly bump this please?
  3. As someone who works in IT I can appreciate that these things happen. Usually at the worst possible time! Thanks for your hard work.
  4. Other vote for the OnePlus phones. I had a OnePlus 3 and due to my neglect I wrecked it. I got a OnePlus 5T to replace it. I previously used iPhones and I will never go back. They released the OnePlus 6 this week. All can use 2 SIMS.
  5. That second image is enough to get the 20 points. You need a minimum of 79 in Listening, Reading, Reading & Writing. The Enabling skills do not matter for Australia visas. Although it doesn't actually matter. A low writing score but high enabling skills generally means the test taker wasn't on topic for something. Looking at those results probably something that also incorporates listen such as retell lecture.
  6. Like the OP I am going for a NSW 190 under Computer Network & Systems Engineer. Does anyone know the current wait times for an EOI please? Thanks
  7. Hello, I have a skills assessment under (Computer Network and Systems Engineer). I am wondering if anyone else with this occupation or similar IT related could share their experience with the 190 for NSW. How long did things take please? Thanks
  8. Hello, A little bit late to the party. Sorry about that! I was like your son and still am to an extent. I was very much into computer but more interested the geeky stuff like how they work rather than playing games. I would set things up, break them and repair them again. Setup servers etc. I couldn't sleep at night because it was going through my mind non-stip. As I got older I noticed this myself and controlled my exposed and I slept much better. I didn't really miss it and felt better. Now I work in IT. Sometimes when I am working on a tricky problem or a large project at work I can't sleep and it can be hard to switch off. Its much harder to switch off when your job is involved. Im currently studying to re-certify for one of my IT qualifications, if I don't manage it I don't get my visa so at the moment Im not getting much sleep as I would like! What I am saying is you're right to restrict him - although you have seen this yourself now. Hope everything goes well! JB
  9. @ oliver27 the legislation (GDPR) deadline is May but they might have change procedure already before the deadline.
  10. I paid for mine. There is content plus many methods, practices etc that are not published on the net. I went with the silver package.
  11. I also used E2launguage for the PTE. I took the PTE 3 times and I was getting around 76 marks in writing (other areas were 90) without improvement even with help from an English teacher friend of mine. I then got E2launguage and got 85 on my exam after using their system. Although I didn't need to do reading as i was getting good scores I did the training anyway. It made it much easier and made it less stressful. On my last exam I had 15 minutes remaining time and got top scores of 90! E2launguage does work and is worth the money.
  12. Correct. You don't need to do anything. Just turn up to the UK and go back to Australia. Have a nice trip.
  13. Hello, I have a few Australian £5 notes. They are the same design as the attached. Has Australia phased these out please? If so I guess I could swap these next time I visit? Thanks
  14. Hello, My EOI is in for a 189 and I am also putting on in for a 489 so not that far along in the processes. When I do go I will be flying the nest and living alone (no partner) for the first time. The benefit is I will just have a few suitcases and some savings. However it will be a double whammy living alone for the first time as well as being abroad. Although I been to Australia a number of times as well as a working holiday visa. I do have family in Brisbane but will be in SA on the 489 so not exactly close! Has anyone else been in this situation? Thanks
  15. If you are renewing and have a copy of your exiting licence you can renew online. If you have a current UK passport they can use the photo from that. I renewed mine recently and it was surprisingly easy.
  16. If you choose or thinking about Singapore Airlines let me know. I can tell you what to expect with seats, service etc. I am regular with them.
  17. Congrats! What airline are you flying with? Some give additional baggage for free when you're on a migration flight. Singapore Airlines is an example.
  18. They get struggle to pay in the UK. Many people have simply sligbored them for years and had it written off.
  19. I wish you all the best. If I managed to get the superior English score anyone can!
  20. Best of luck! What job are you applying under?
  21. I am yes. I still found it quite hard to get the result. However I always struggled with English. Maths I can do no problem!
  22. They say PTE is easier than IELTS for a native english speaker. However it took me a few attempts to get my writing over 79. Apparently the PTE is easier than the IELTS for writing as well!. Loads of PTE study resources here - https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0BxSAhiEs5XzvX3lNSnRxc3NWcU0 There are loads of videos on this YouTube channel to help: PTE - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvSdD8_0DAKn-ThHWhAhoAg/videos IELTS - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCglDIsg_Z9mE2oT9hsrbzFA/videos The same company provide tuition and many more resources. They really helped me. For the PT Essay this structure works, gives you high written discourse and is easy to use. - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1wAKkcUDc4PId3m-WjqxZfjQFG9D6tZ1DiNYomVZ2G2w/edit?usp=sharing All PTE essay prompts ask your view and opinions so this will work. If you decide to do PTE some time I also suggest you understand how this is scored so you know where to pick up the marks. There is some negative marking on the reading section so on some questions its not a good idea to guess if you don't know the answer. - https://pearsonpte.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/Score-Guide.pdf I don't know much about IELTS so can't help much with that.
