  1. They are just telling you how it works. Just because it's not what you want to hear doesn't mean you can be rude.
  2. No you’re not the only one. I can smell it a mile off when my Aussie girlfriend has it out!
  3. Im well aware of that as is everyone else commenting on this thread.
  4. I can't help you, but it's good to see someone is taking their student debt seriously and making the effort
  5. 100% agree. It's the run up I miss. There is a general atmosphere as well. Here there isn't.
  6. Christmas. It just isn’t the same here.
  7. It doesn't work like that. You will need the actual 4 years. Even if you somehow got into Australia you wouldn't be able to teach here anyway. This isn't always the case. I was successful obtaining a skills assessment and visa using experience obtained before the qualification.
  8. Flow this through and they will notify you when they are ready for you. https://covid-vaccine.healthdirect.gov.au/eligibility
  9. I am waiting for them to give me the call. According to the news my priority group won't be far away.
  10. However the bullets below that say an expired cert can be used in some cases It takes 12 working days to process the certificate, It's taking about 3 weeks to post from the uk. 33 days turn around and they ask for the document to be returned in 28 days. But if I submit the check too early it will expire before the visa is processed. Thank you. Seems to be the typical visa Aus lottery
  11. Hello, I am looking to apply for my 887 visa in a few weeks. I came across this link in the Skilled Visa section on the Department Of Home Affairs website https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/what-we-do/skilled-migration-program/skilled-visa-newsletters/november-2019?fbclid=IwAR34sxOZA_WeNfTNoZPRC1IrgtPjoMeP-BHmALyyy_WXzoFfKJ90eECtHbo The section I am particularly interested in is "Penal clearance certificates – validity issues" Since my UK police certificate expired (12 months after issue) I have spent just over 2 weeks visiting family in the UK. Interpret that as my time in the UK has been under 2 months I can use my expired police certificate and I don't need to obtain a new one. However I this information is under the 494 visa section, does this also apply to 887 visa applications as well please? Can anyone advise please? Thanks
  12. They usually accept colour scans that haven't been certified.
  13. Oh I see. Why aren't the dates the same. Did you make a mistake? If so, I would put the most accurate dates on your 189 and if queried explain you made an error.
  14. They only ask for moth and years so you should be ok? I wrote "skilled migration" I stated "online" I am doing the form 80 for the second time. First time was a few years ago. The first time I didn't it didn't ask for a reason, they have since changed the form. I also found it odd that it wants an explanation. I have given the same reasons as you. This I am not sure on. But I would agree. The form 80 you are filling out is in reference to your 189 application so I would mark this is as no. However I think someone else should confirm / deny this.
  15. Yes. 100% I have arrived at all times of the day and it is always worse coming into Australia.
  16. $15.66 per meal for take out / premade isn't all that an outrageous cost. Especially when you take into account the amount of admin work it takes to source and distribute hundreds (maybe thousands) of meals.
  17. I believe if people apply for further visas or citizenship and they have outstanding debt they won’t be eligible.
  18. I am an IT Manager but I had to migrate under a Network Engineer using my Cisco qualifications. You will probably find you need to be registered by a state and work in a regional area. You won’t have much of a chance at all at getting an interview without a visa. You will probably find your application will be automatically declined. I would speak to a migration agent. The person I used is no longer a agent so I can’t personally recommend anyone.
  19. The UK citizenship laws are sexist. Although thats another topic!
  20. It depends on how many complete years you have. I arrived a few years back when I was 28. I calculated I would recover the additional "top up" payments in less than 12 months of withdrawing it. Although I didn't take into account inflation. @Rossmoyne I suppose if Australia becomes a republic it won't be an issue anymore?
  21. Thanks for the reply. I think that quote is literally the same thing as I found. it might be good to get a second opinion or source. Although I’m not overly worried. A holiday is pretty normal. Thanks again.
  22. I thought this was for Citizenship. There doesn't seem to be a calculator or anything for the 887 like there is for citizenship. I have just found this, written by a Migration Agent. It seems to support my understanding holidays will not be deducted from the 2 year residence. My holiday was less than 4 weeks. https://www.australiavisa.com/immigration-news/from-a-489-to-a-887-visa/
