  1. Are you sure? The UK was never part of the Schengen area so you should have used a passport to leave the UK. To help map my trips I searched my emails for booking confirmations
  2. I am also in Adelaide. If you’re looking to rent be aware that it’s a fast noticing market. It is usually just over a week from inspecting a house to moving in. The market is competitive and in the favour of the landlords and agents. It can be hard to find a good place.
  3. These documents shouldn’t really be submitted until they ask for them. You did take a risk by uploading then straight away as they have an expiration date.
  4. Go to your new provider and ask them you want to Churn the connection (it means just switch the existing service to a new provider) and once it’s done terminate the old connection. it can we done within a few hours.
  5. You don’t mention what class you’re flying? I have flown Economy and Business Class in Singapore Airlines and only Business Class with Qatar. Multiple times for each. The service on Singapore Airlines was much better than Qatar. The business class seats on Qatar are better - proving you’re in the QSuite. The Singapore Airlines lounge is better than Qatar. Singapore airport is also much better than Doha. Singapore Airlines business class food is also better - you can order from a vast menu before you fly. Qatar allows you to eat any time you like - great for combating jet lag I haven’t tried Qatar’s economy class but Singapore’s is good. All their aircraft now have modern screens, USB, plug sockets etc. This applies to both classes. The WIFi on Qatar is much cheaper than Singapore. I think it’s $10 for the whole flight. Singapore has an eye watering amount for a very small amount of data. I haven’t researched it recently but the connection times from Adelaide with Singapore were poor! This may have changed. Qatar is in OneWorld so I can earn Qatas points. I am not happy with the recent events with Qatar. On balance I would probably pick Singapore Airlines.
  6. Hello, I am an IT Manager in Adelaide. We really struggle to get good quality IT people here. It took around 4 months to recruit a Systems Engineer. My pay is much better than the UK. I do have more outgoings but I am still better off. As IT people are hard to find you can demand the money and other benefits additional annual leave etc. Best of luck!
  7. One thing to consider is the Medicare Surcharge Levy. If you earn more thank $100k you may need to pay this. If you have private health you don’t. You might be financially better off taking our private cover.
  8. I am already in Australia. I have been considering a MK 2 GTI as a collectors item (not my main car). They seem to be few and far between. The ones that do come up seem to have been modified or in poor condition. Would I be able to import one from the UK please?
  9. Hello, This link might be useful. https://www.seekvisa.com.au/covid-19-concessions-for-skilled-regional-887-visa/ Cheers
  10. I changed my passport. I updated the details online via this link - https://online.immi.gov.au/lusc/login I was also required to upload a scanned copy of the passport.
  11. What type of registration do you mean? Is that for a car. If so its about $600 in SA.
  12. I use Boost mobile for $20 a month I get 5GB of data Unlimited domestic & International calls to 15 countries (inc UK) Unlimited domestic & International texts to 15 countries (inc UK) Boost uses the Telstra network so you get the best possible coverage. I travel to regional areas with work and it has always worked well.
  13. I did mean that. A combination of fat fingers and auto correct!
  14. I would avoid anywhere north of the CBD. Maybe avoid Plympton as well. Glenelg and Henley Beach are quite nice.
  15. It doesn't depends on the bank. I pay no fees with the HSBC and the rates have been slightly better than Moneycorp. If the OP doesn't have an account with a decent bank there maybe an issue.
  16. I know it isn't what you asked but something to note in the event you didn't know. A PR only includes 5 years of travel rights. After the 5 years are up one has to apply for a residents return visa to cross the border. It becomes much more complicated to get one of these when you don't live in Australia.
  17. 887 seem to be flying trough. I know 2 people who have had theirs processed in around 4 months.
  18. Mitcham and Unley have all those. I love living in this area. Norwood is also a good area for those kinds of things. As a rule I advise to avoid north of the CBD. Those areas tend to be a little rougher.
  19. It’s not all about the money. Renting had many downsides. Although ownership does as well.
  20. Thought so. I thought I would ask anyway as I could save over $1,000. Thanks for the reply.
  21. In short you need to work and live in the areas you agreed to when taking up the visa.
  22. Hello, I am a Pom on a 489 visa. I have a visitor Medicare card via the respicol agreement. I am doing my tax return. Would the attached be the correct selection please? Thanks
  23. I have a few ideas. Do you like live music? The Adelaide casino has a roof top bar that’s good for bands and stuff.
