  1. Hello, I have noticed that the 887 has appeared on this list: https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-processing-times/skilled-visa-processing-priorities Can someone paraphrase the "Skilled visa applications are processed in the following order of priority" section please? Does this mean they assess each applicant to determine if they are a priority please? If so I am working and living in a "designated regional area" (Adelaide). Does this mean I will get priority please? Thanks
  2. I assume we are talking about the cricket? I saw the team at airport today!
  3. Many airlines scrapped older aircraft when COVID hit, they assumed there would be a long term downturn (like they had been in the past). However, demand rebounded quickly and there aren't as many aircraft. Big demand with little competition on many routes.
  4. Im going to keep uploading new ones. The extra cost is outweighed by the increase in property value as when I am PR we can finally purchase a house.
  5. I have been waiting since June 2021. Frustrating! It's the only skilled visa (I think) that is taking this amount of time. Apparently they are going to clear the backlog by the end of the year. I can't see that happening....
  6. Hello, Submitted my 887 PR application some time ago. My Australian and UK police checks are due to expire. I am going to renew my Australian AFP check. However, I haven't left the country since I lodged my application. Do I need to renew my UK police check please? I am aiming for a direct grant so i want to be prepared. Thanks
  7. Im not convinced. They stopped a lot of onshore visa applications as well.
  8. I believe you can have 2 applications at the same time. You can withdraw your 887 if the 189 is granted. Someone should be able to confirm. I would think a 189 will be quicker. I applied for my 887 16 months ago and still waiting.
  9. I worked for a company that specially employed people disabilities including what you stated above.
  10. I am currently on a 489 and have applied for the 887.I am due to go on Bridging Visa A as my 489 expires soon.
  11. Thanks for the post! I arrived in Australia in May 2019 and have been waiting on my PR application since June 2021. Not long after arriving I met my Australian partner and now have an Australian child on the way, both are impacted by the wait. My current visa is due to expire, I have recently got a good job with a good employer who understands so that's good! I am trying not to watch the pot boil but it's not usually not far from my mind. News like this is always welcome.
  12. I can confirm this is not the case. I arrived in Australia in early 2019 on a temporary / provisional visa. I secured a permanent job in IT immediately. I started a new job a few weeks ago, again a permanent position, that also required a high level of security clearance and I am soon to be on a bridging visa. In both jobs team members were also on visas that aren't permanent.
  13. There is a big shortage of IT people. Assuming you're good, I don't think you will have too much of a problem finding work.
  14. Probably because the 489 has now finished and replaced with the 491. So was the conclusion the quota was included on the 489 and not the 887>?
  15. Does anyone know if the quota applies to 887 visas applicants please? I have been told the quota applies when you are granted the 489 and not the 887.
  16. Hello, This is a quick post to thank Paul Hand from SunCoast Migration. I dealt with him recently with a few questions in relation to my 887 visa application. Paul was prompt, extremely helpful and clear. He addressed all my concerns with no drama at all. If someone is looking for a migration agent, I can recommend him without hesitation. Have a great weekend!
  17. I totally understand your situation. I am in Australia and have been waiting for my 887 visa since June 2021, but nobody has even looked at my case. No contact at all.
  18. I screen recorded the entire process - just incase. Thanks very much - I will give you a call. Thanks for the reply. Much appreciated.
  19. I worked in the UK education sector, there are a lot of schools in the UK that don't do this, it's becoming more common. Remember that they start school later in Australia than they do in the UK.
  20. I am on a skilled provisional visa. PR visa has been lodged and just waiting for them to pick up my file!
  21. My bridging visa is soon going to kick in and I have just got a new job. However, I have been in Australia a number of years.
  22. What islands exactly? Many area part of Australia so wouldn't class as international travel.
