Hey mate inboxed you resume i used for Vetassess Skill assessment -
Hey guys, As you guys may have realised 190 grants kinda stopped after they processed most of the October cases. I am creating this thread so people who applied in November can share their timelines in one place and we can track each others cases. I applied on November 27th and my status is till received. Please share your experiences

Payslips as evidence - VETASSESS
garrychandi replied to KittyGibbo's topic in Working and Skilled Visas
Hey, Burnsie is absolutely right. Some of my work experience was through agency, so i put their details as they are the one paying my wages and super etc. As for your other question, for general occupation Vetassess tend to deduct some of your experience. On your skill assessment they will clearly state at what date they deemed you qualified, you can then claim points from only that date onwards. Hope this help, good luck -

High Points for 489/190 - South Australia
garrychandi replied to Jellica's topic in Working and Skilled Visas
Hey mate, I got my skill assessment through Vetassess. They contacted my current employer. I provided number of my head chef. They tried his personal number but couldn't get through so they called him on work number. Only asked him couple of questions. Couple of my friends also got verification call at their work place from Vetasses, so be prepared. -
As a British citizen you don't need to do english test, but if you want to increase your points then you should definitely do it. You will get 20 points if you manage to score 8 each in IELTS or 79 each in pte. Skilled migration is very competitive process and higher the points you have better the chances are. I will definitely recommend doing PTE exam.

You have to go to Centrelink to apply for Medicare. Click on the below link and download the form. Take completed form with copy of your current visa as well 186 acknowledgement letter and your passport. They will give you Medicare number straight away and card will arrive in couple of week at your address. https://www.humanservices.gov.au/individuals/forms/ms004

I never had problem with limit, saying that maximum i transferred was £5000. According to their website maximum limit per transfer is 1.5 million AUD

I highly recommend transferwise. You can download their app as well and use your debit card to make a payment. Money usually reach in under an hour.

Still no case officer contact after 3 months, is this normal?
garrychandi replied to Lucy Colenutt's topic in Visa Chat
yes its normal, i am sure you will get a contact this week or by next week. I would highly suggest to do the Medical and pcc. If you wait for the CO contact to ask for the same, it will delay your grant by at least a month according to current trends. Some people are waiting more than 2 months after the CO contact because they didn't front load all the docs -
You will have same restriction as your student visa. Saying that if you have already finished your course you can work full time.

Victoria 190 visa INVITATION
garrychandi replied to WizardofOz2018's topic in Working and Skilled Visas
Hey, congratulation on your invitation from Victoria. Yes, its perfectly fine to lodge another application. Friend of mine did the same. Lodge your 190 first and then withdraw your 489 after that.- 35 replies

Best way to transfer money to UK account
garrychandi replied to Tom Roffey's topic in Money & Finance
Hey mate, try transfer wise. You can download their app and money reach overseas account pretty much instantly. Very low fee and way better exchange rate.https://transferwise.com/au/ Its regulated by FCA in Uk and ASIC here in AUS. Don't ever transfer through bank to bank, they charge you high fee as well as take large spread out of exchange rate -
I guess your agent probably submitted multiple EOIs ? If not ask him to do that as Victoria won't invite you if you stated your preferred state as WA or ANY
-
Its competitive process, so i suggest wait until the deadline and if you don't get the Victorian nomination by then go for SA 489. I am pretty sure you will get Victorian nomination by then if you have enough points. One other person i know got his nomination last week, application was submitted in Sep.

I totally agree with you. So from my experience what i have seen over the last year or so, ICT and Accountant push every one out of the competition with their high points (they can do professional year to get 5 extra points etc). It was pretty hard for trade people to get an invitation through 189 as most trade workers have diploma which reduces their points, to compensate that states started prioritising trade workers. But they totally missed the point that there are other general occupations that can't get enough points, teachers are the best example of that
-
Yeah i agree with you, but thats not the argument i was making. I was trying to point out there is an evidence that they have shortage of teachers
-
I don't think they invited any teachers. This time around they even skipped the chefs as couple of my mates were hoping for an invite. What i gathered from all over the other forums, there were very few invitations were issued compared to last year. I don't understand the politics around all this, on one hand they are saying they need teachers ( USYD offers $10000 a year) scholarship to do a degree in teaching and then they ignore all the teachers who are waiting, They should be inviting teachers 60+ 5 ss if they need teachers
