Hey Joanne, I did my medicare recently. You have to got to CenterLink to apply for medicare. Download and fill this form before you go there. It will cut down your waiting time and they appreciate that as well.https://www.humanservices.gov.au/individuals/forms/ms004

You are eligible to apply for Medicare straightway. They will issues you Medicare number on the spot so you can start claiming straightway. You need to visit nearest Centrelink ( Equivalent of Job Centre In UK). I got mine sorted in less than 15 minutes

8 months until I become 33 years old
garrychandi replied to oudmaster's topic in Working and Skilled Visas
Every State has different procedure. NSW for example invites you first, then you have to send in your application with $300 fee to them. once they approve you get the invitation from DHA -
Hey mate, its best if you go for 261312. You will get 15 points for the masters. ACS require 1 year of post qualification experience to get the positive skill assessment. On the other hand if you want to go for Accountant you need atleast 85 points looking at the current round. CPA won't ask for work experience for positive skill assessment, but its getting harder and harder for accountants

garrychandi replied to Chris Jo's topic in Working and Skilled Visas
Hey mate i have successfully done my skill assessment. You can apply through Vetassess. here is the link to check your eligibility etc https://www.vetassess.com.au/skills-assessment-for-migration/trade-occupations/am-i-eligible-to-apply. You need to select offshore skill assessment program. Commercial cookery is the occupation for the chef- 1 reply

Pay slips translation advice needed
garrychandi replied to Martina's topic in Working and Skilled Visas
Hey, i applied without work experience points so didn’t included any work experience docs. But when i did skill assessment I submitted one payslip from start of the year, one from middle and one from year end ( for 5 years) . They were fine with it so i guess you can do that or get one from each quarter -
Here you go mate The amendments introduce a revised points system for the subclass 491 visa as well as existing General Skilled Migration visas. Points are awarded for attributes that are linked with the applicant’s ability to make the greatest economic contribution, as the key purpose of the skilled migration program is to maximise the economic benefits of migration to Australia. The changes to the points test are to introduce: · more points for having a skilled spouse or de facto partner (10 points); · more points for applicants nominated by a State or Territory government or sponsored by a family member residing in regional Australia (15 points); · more points for having certain STEM qualifications (10 points); · points for applicants who do not have a spouse or de facto partner (10 points); and · points for applicants with a spouse or de facto partner who has competent English (5 points). https://www.legislation.gov.au/Details/F2019L00578/Explanatory Statement/Text
