  1. While rheumatoid disease can certainly be exacerbated by stress it is thought to be caused by several other factors so I think it's a little unfair blaming it on living in Australia. You could just have easily developed it in the UK. But I do agree that the heat can be an issue, certainly for me (I don't have RA but something similar)
  2. What is garish wooden furniture? We have some nice Jarrah and Marri pieces, definitely not garish and certainly not mass produced. If you chose to buy rubbish that was your choice.
  3. I've just searched here: https://www.abf.gov.au/entering-and-leaving-australia/can-you-bring-it-in/categories/food and it states Christmas cake is OK so your wedding cake should be too. Items with dried ingredients are usually OK. I'd contact them and check.
  4. Is nclex-rn the same exam they use for registration in the USA? I didn't find that too difficult although I did study for it.
  5. Yet the population has doubled in the 30 years that I've been here so plenty of people do like it.
  6. I remember your previous post about your parents. I do sympathise with your husband, do you ever have a holiday in Australia or elsewhere just the two of you? Perhaps try reducing your visits to bi - annual?
  7. No, I don’t think they get easier as ageing relatives can mean the possibility of not seeing them again. I’m trying to become more pragmatic about it after 30 years, I know I’ve visited when possible and kept in touch. I’ve reached a point in my life when I need to do what’s best for me while still caring about my diminishing relatives. I hope you will feel better once you are back home.
  8. Nicely said Ali. Home and Happy, if you’re so happy to be back in the UK why don’t you just forget Australia and stop coming into this forum with your negative comments? You seem very resentful of anyone enjoying their life in Australia - get over it and move on!
  9. I believe biological are very expensive here too and approval is required to receive them subsidised under the PBS. There is more information here: https://www.humanservices.gov.au/organisations/health-professionals/services/medicare/written-authority-required-drugs/drug-program-or-condition/arthritis-psoriatic-arthritis
  10. Edith Cowan University also has a campus in Bunbury in the South West.
  11. Another troll, it must be the time of year or something
  12. 50 posts in 24 hours isn't normal behaviour Good time to use the ignore function.
  13. What a load of garbage, go and troll elsewhere
  14. I haven't lived in Newcastle since 1986 but I'll always be a Geordie. My sister and I were on the Quayside in August, we loved the town beach. When we were kids no-one would have thought the Quayside would become a cultural centre.
  15. Most kennels are booked up for Xmas and New Year months in advance. We use a housesitting site (https://mindahome.com.au/) and have had some great sitters but again you've left it a bit late.
  16. It's 39C and windy today in Perth. Keeping our fingers crossed that the day ends without serious incident.

What a load of crap! Some Australians have high BP, some are obnoxious and some new highrise apartments have defects. I can only assume Zack makes these comments to get some sort of reaction
  18. The weather in the Channel area is glorious this week. I've just arrived at an AirBnB in Blackman's Bay with a fabulous view of the water - bliss
  19. I'm staying in Kettering and while it's windy it's sunny and beautiful
  20. Thank you, I've packed for all possibilities
  21. I wish I'd known about that sanctuary when we were in Launceston earlier this year. I'm currently on a flight to Hobart, pretty impressed with Virgin's inflight wi-fi
  22. I'm going to dispute your claim about the health system not being good, where are you comparing it to? There are excellent specialists here and minimal wait times for radiology. I've worked in health care in the UK and Perth and Perth is doing OK.
  23. I should have been clearer, I was wondering if it was still available in the UK.
  24. Is it still available as when I've looked into it in the past the comments were always about using the oils as a spray?
  25. There isn't a bug repellant, it's the dry body oil or bath oil sprayed on. I haven't tried it so can't comment on it's effectiveness.
