  1. Yes, WA is different from other States. You need to be sure before you pay a deposit.
  2. Welcome to your new life, hope it's everything you hoped for

    When to go?

I don't think the cost has been announced in WA yet.

    When to go?

It' s going to depend on the State I believe. This info is about NSW: https://www.executivetraveller.com/news/australia-sydney-quarantine-hotel-cost
  5. Agreed, but I think you can still apply for an emergency passport if necessary.
  6. Mine expires this week but the website requests that people delay their application unless it is urgent. I'll probably wait until the end of the year as I can't use it anyway plus I have an Aus one.
  7. If it was so important for the parents to be there their son could surely have postponed the wedding. There are too many people who think that their wants are more important than the safety of others.
  8. Every Australian resident is in the same boat, thousands of us have had to cancel our holidays but the boarder closures were made for a reason and they've achieved the desired result. I have family in the UK and USA who have much more rigorous isolation measures enforced so right now we all just have to suck it up and be grateful we haven't suffered the enormous death rates of other countries.
  9. Actually the dollar is rising against other currencies
  10. I think that poster was a troll, they only posted for 1 day

The airport is definitely not closed, Qatar are still flying in. 14 days quarantine is required on arrival.
  12. In my opinion it's very unlikely that we'll have a sudden increase in WA, we had had no new cases for 8 days until today and there are only 6 active cases in the State. With the State border still closed there's little chance of a new outbreak.
  13. We should have been flying to Hobart tomorrow , I had booked some great houses to stay in
  14. The newer areas are like that, yes but the older suburbs and hills areas are very different. I get tired of reading about Perth's boring suburbs but if people make the effort to look for something different it's out there.
  15. It will be a couple of years yet until we retire until a Lotto win come along
  16. It's a beautiful area, we're planning to retire there. We should have been flying there in 2 weeks time but of course we had to cancel We like the fact it's not too far from Hobart while having some lovely smaller towns.
  17. I don't know how they assess overseas qualifications these days, I would ask Flinders Uni for guidance. It would be really frustrating if your wife studied for something that wasn't recognised
  18. These should help: https://www.midwives.org.au/approved-programs-study https://www.flinders.edu.au/study/nursing-midwifery https://www.flinders.edu.au/study/pathways
  19. Does she have Nursing qualifications already? Am I right in thinking you're going to SA, I'll send you a link to the Uni sites if you let me know what State
  20. You're right, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and find some joy wherever you are living.
  21. I hate to disillusion you but you didn't inform me of anything. I was a Nurse for 25 years in addition to doing my own research into autoimmune diseases.
  22. No, the weather is glorious and the birds are singing - I'm heading out to enjoy the beautiful Perth hills
