  1. Thank you for your help and responses. I agree that it would be wrong to take children to Australia without permission. That was never and would never be the plan. It would just mean moving at different times, but of course with full consent of both parents. He would be there first, and I wanted to be sure we could still follow, should things get complicated. Never would I be taking them away first, or without consent. I just wanted some idea where I'd stand. I don't want them to miss out, or to not be close by to their dad. Hopefully things resolve themselves. Thank you
  2. My son has applied for university in Australia. Given uncertain times due to Covid, we don't yet have job offers and I'm worried about getting jobs quickly enough once we arrive in Australia. If my son is offered a place at university as a PR resident can he get a student loan to support himself before he arrives? Student fees and accommodation? He will try to get a job asap alongside his studies once his feet are on ground in Australia. I am just concerned that I might not be earning when we arrive but want him to be able to continue to university.
  3. Thank you. That is such a relief. As if emigration during a pandemic isn't hard enough. Now I might have to try and do it alone. But it's best for the kids. So will find a way. Thank you for your response.
  4. My husband and I have had our visas granted for our family. But had a huge argument last week and it may result in a divorce. He is the main applicant. Can we still go on our PR visas if I take the children? Can he cancel them? Will Aus allow us in without the main applicant? Flights are booked. I've applied for jobs.
  5. Hi, Has anyone had any solid information from department of home affairs regarding not being able to activate visas due to the travel restrictions connected to the coronavirus? Holders of Granted visas - can you still enter as long as flights are available? To activate? Are extensions to activation dates given as these as extenuating circumstances? Thanks in advance
  6. Hi, If you've lodged and paid for a 190 visa, but then get invited by another state to apply for a 190 visa, can this cause complications to the original lodged visa application? Providing you don't accept second invitation and don't apply for sponsorship? Thank you

Hi, Once you've been to your visa medical appointment, how long do you wait for results and feedback? Do you get results before they are uploaded to application? Are you told if it's a pass or not? Or do you wait for Australia to decide? Hoping to get results on the day, and to be told if it's going to pass Australian standards before it's uploaded - but not sure how it works!

  10. Hi, Can't find HAP code for uploading health checks, and read online that we should wait until asked, but I've also read online that some are advised to front load all information to reduce waiting time for visa grant. Any evidence for this? Any experiences of this? Thanks
  11. Hi, Anyone remember how long they waited for results of UK police check to come through? For uploading to visa application?
  12. Can this be used to gain points as a spouse on my husband's main applicant visa?
