Congratulations Amanda! I just want to ask you whether it took about 7-8 weeks from the initial AOS submission until the 2nd VAC was requested?

Also when you were assigned a CO, you were given 28 days and since you were held back by the AOS, did they give you another 28 days extension or is there a timeline set out specifically?

Hope the process goes super smoothly for you.

Hi, I've tried to reply three times already but then it drops out (hotel wifi), so I am hoping today will be better. Yes it was about 8 weeks from lodging the AOS application to the request for the 2nd VAC. Immi are aware of the centrelink delays and said that as long as they are satisfied we/assurer are doing our bits, they are happy to wait until finalised. There was no particular deadline given to us, so we kept our CO updated with events including a copy of the bank letter when issued. I think that's the best thing to do, let them know each step as it is done. Centrelink send the final confirmation to immi and to the assurer. Immi asked us to send it to them as there can be delays from them receiving it from centrelink apparently. Hope this helps.

Congratulations to everybody who is approaching the final hurdle.

My daughter received a letter asking her to phone for an appointment for a telephone interview re the AoS.

Can anybody give any information on what sort of questions are likely to be asked please?

Hi Sadge

our daughter had her phone interview over two weeks ago and we are still waiting for the letter from Centrelink to ask her to pay the bond. They just go over the responsibilities of being an Assurer. Completely fed up with Centrelink they are totally inefficient about paperwork.

Thanks Julie. All Victoria time = She received a letter Friday evening on her return from work which was dated last Saturday, asking her to phone them before Friday! She's planning to call them on Monday. They probably won't even notice the date!

This whole process has been absolutely draining - just to top it off the MO rejected my medical. Have just supplied reams of additional information so ................ we'll see.

Hi Sadge

So sorry to hear about the medical.....hope your paperwork sorts out the problem. I agree with your entirely, this process is totally draining, the long initial wait and now all this at the end. I feel like I've aged 10 years and definitely got more grey hair! Fingers crossed for you!

Just dropped in to say hi, and I know how you feel and that honestly you will get through it all. I actually cried the day my lap top packed up in the middle of uploading form eighty.

Centrelink are a very bad joke. My daughter was stuck there for two hours with an eleven month old baby and when she asked for the toilet so she could change his nappy they insisted on escorting her there. She couldn't decide whether they thought she was going to shoot up or steal the loo paper!!!

I think the major stress is the 28 day time limit but I had the same experience as Julie - once they knew everything was done except the assurance of support they seemed happy to wait.

Sadge, I'm sorry to hear about the medical. We had some additional queries about a condition my husband suffers from and had to send additional information, but the additional hospital report was accepted and everything was fine. I've got my fingers crossed that it's the same for you.

hoping the the long wait will soon be over for you all.

Just heard from my daughter that the telephone interview took under 10 mins, she's been asked to open the necessary a/c with the Commonwealth Bank and pay the AoS within 14 days of receipt of a letter from C/L. Little steps, little steps.

Hi Tien

That's brilliant news, nearly there now for you. Our daughter phoned Centrelink today as we are still waiting for the letter to go to the bank. They apologised for the delay and promised to deal with it as a matter of urgency. Somehow I don't believe it.

At least they sent you the confirmation letter quickly once you had paid the AOS. It will be interesting to see how quickly IMMI respond.

It was our experience that immi responded very quickly once the AOS confirmation went in. Nearly there!

I wish we felt like that!! We sent the AOS confirmation letter to Immi last week, and they now have everything they need, but we've heard nothing since!! Any thoughts/suggestions??

Hi Moomin

Did you send the AOS confirmation letter attached to the original request by using the reply button?
