  1. Fantastic news Julie! So pleased it has all come together for you-such great news x
  2. Hi Julie and Tien, I really hope the next few steps go smoothly for you both. Sadge, I'm also hoping things go well with all your medical information too-fingers crossed for you. Thanks for everyone's good wishes-I fly home to help my parents get on with selling the house tomorrow. I'm packing my thermals as I've heard it's a bit chilly!!
  3. Well, move on up everyone......My parents have got their visa confirmation today!!!! Thanks so much for all the support that everyone has for each other on this forum - its been a valuable source of information, and glad to have been able to share it with your all. Good luck to everyone, and especially the other 23rd Juners - Tien and Julie. I hope you are both celebrating soon too. :arghh:WOW!
  4. Hi Julie-how frustrating for you! This whole process is so stressful. There is number for the assurance of support department: 132850 but I was on hold for 2 hours when I called them previously!! There is a complaints system for Centrelink and here's the link: https://www.humanservices.gov.au/customer/contact-us/complaints-and-feedback i hope that your daughter gets the bank letter soon.
  5. Hi Alan, Thanks for that - we are hoping that it will be a case of going back to complete the sale and then return for good!!
  6. Just a quick question - my parents now need to sell their house and have until April 29th to get to Australia. If by some chance the house sale isn't completed - would they be able to come here on a holiday and then go back to the UK to complete the sale? If so, are there any restrictions on how long they can be out of Australia for as permanent residents? Thanks
  7. Good news!!! At last the request for the 2nd VAC payment - we're almost there!! So excited and now working on getting funds across to get payment completed. Fingers crossed you hear soon Tien and Julie - you're not far behind I'm sure
  8. Fantastic news Amanda!! You'll be so excited to get here now and the weather is really picking up! We hope to be hot on your heels but still no correspondence from Immi. I called the service centre and the lady I spoke to confirmed receipt of our documents, so more waiting! This sure is a test of patience!! Enjoy x:rolleyes:
  9. I wish we felt like that!! We sent the AOS confirmation letter to Immi last week, and they now have everything they need, but we've heard nothing since!! Any thoughts/suggestions??
  10. I received my confirmation letter of the AOS from Centrelink via my myGov account today. My parents have sent it on to Immi, and now we wait for contact!! They have everything they need (I hope!!) and we wait for some communication as to whether they can go ahead and part with some money or not!!. Fingers crossed :chatterbox:
  11. Thanks for letting me know that!! I was wondering what happens now!!? Hopefully we'll have happy news soon
  12. Well, we received the Centrelink letter in the post advising of organising the bank guarantee. I went into the Commonwealth Bank today and got the guarantee completed - there is also a $150 set up fee by the bank as well. The letter then said I needed to take documentation from the bank back to Centrelink, so I did that today too. I guess we just sit and wait again for further correspondence from Centrelink now! Surely the visa grant can't be far away now?!!
  13. Hi Ryan, Yes it can be a frustrating wait with no communication. The AOS is currently being asked for when the PVC contact you for your Form 80, Medicals and Police check. They are currently processing visas submitted up to 25/06/2014. You can check the Visa progress by submitting an email to : parents@border.gov.au with the subject as TEST This gives you current processing times. Once your date gets close then you'll hear more. I hope that helps?
  14. The call came through on my phone as 'No Caller ID' just so she knows to answer it!
  15. I'm assume that the phone call was the interview. She went through what being an assurer entails and then gave me the instructions regarding the bank deposit and what paperwork I need to send back etc. As far as I understand, that was it as she said she would process everything after the call. I was also surprised to hear from them on a Saturday! So now we need to wait for the letter to come regarding the bank details.
  16. I had a phone call from the AOS team today. They went through my responsibilities as an assurer and will be sending out the letter with the bank details this week. Fingers crossed you hear soon Julie and Tien? The visa wheels are slowly turning!!
  17. Hi Julie, the guy at Centrelink checked on his internal website and advised of the 21 day processing for the AOS team. He seemed to suggest that we would hear something in the post, but I wasn't too reassured by this, as he didn't seem to know too much about the process either, and I had to guide him through the paperwork! I'm keeping an eye on myGov - the Centrelink account, but not heard anything as yet. Will keep you posted
  18. Hi Julie - I've not heard anything back yet. I was told that AOS team have a 21 day processing time at present, so I guess we have another week to wait. I was hoping to have heard this week as I'm going away next week, and would like to have got the money into the account. More waiting it seems! :daydreaming:
  19. So glad it is all going well for you Alan. Thanks for all your information and help on the forum and wishing you both all the best :cute:
  20. Thanks Fisher!! We uploaded it on Friday except the AOS. It's all go!!
  21. Thanks Tien, but do the copies need to be certified prior to scanning?
  22. Yay!! We have just been assigned our case officer too!! Can I just check with those who have done all this before us - do we need to send a certified copy of the police check, or is it ok to just send a scanned copy? Thanks in advance!!
