  1. That's great news Tien! Fingers crossed we hear soon too Julie :chatterbox:
  2. I know exactly what you mean!! Having something to do kept my mind off it too!!
  3. Fingers crossed we hear soon Julie and Tien. I wonder how long it will be before we hear about the AOS?
  4. Went in to Centrelink this morning, and provided the AOS forms and supporting documentation. They checked/verified my ID and scanned off the form. I guess I just wait to hear back from the AOS team now? It was pretty straight forward, but the guy didn't seem to know much about it! Fingers crossed it doesn't take too long :cute:
  5. Yay Julie and Tien - we got ours too!! I am off to Centrelink first thing tomorrow to get the AOS lodged. So glad to have some positive news, and hopefully when we all get our CO we will have everything in order ready to be processed! Tien, I think each assurer has to complete an AOS form, and be present when lodging them at centrelink. Yay!!!!:chatterbox:
  6. Eeek!!Can't believe there has been some movement!! Our date is getting closer and I'm trying not to get excited about it - fingers crossed Julie and Tien :chatterbox: Hot on your heels Amanda!!
  7. Congratulations Alan!! You'll get your visa soon I'm sure :cute:
  8. Huge congratulations Skeelsy!! Can't wait to be hot on your heels! :cute:
  9. Good luck Alan! As long as you are wearing your tee, boardies and thongs - the job is yours!!! Safe travels :cute:
  10. I thought of you Julie when I got the reply from Immi! You have made a good decision to fly out, and at least enjoy being here while you wait!! You're right. We just have to sit here and wait it out I guess, but it would have been better to know this kind of detailed information without having to send begging emails! :daydreaming:
  11. So, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this is the reply I received today after asking for the AOS letter today  Thank you for your email. "I have been advised that the AOS letter was issued prior to cases being allocated to assessment just recently only for a handful of cases, where rather special circumstances existed. One of such circumstance involved a sponsor who was proposing to act as an assurer who was in her last weeks of pregnancy and asked for the opportunity to apply for the AOS prior to her due date. In June 2014 we received a 4 months’ worth of applications, which was a consequence of the abolition of the Non-Contributory visas on 2 June 2014. In numbers, we are talking about more than 2,000 applications with around 3,000 applicants, just for one month. To put this in perspective, 3,000 visas make up over 40% of our annual allocation of places for the current year and the year 2016/17. We are not prepared to start issuing AOS request letters in advance of application assessment to everybody, as we don’t have sufficient resources given the potential magnitude of the undertaking." So, the wait continues......
  12. My parents had a urine test, blood pressure check, HIV test, chest X-Ray, and general check of medical history. They do a mini mental test too -which screens for dementia. My parents both take medication - I think that is generally OK, as understandably people tend to take medications as they get older. It was good to have information about any health concerns/investigations etc that they had done on the last 5 years too. Alan Steel posted a good summary of the test, so here it is again:http://www.gdciq.gov.cn/CJSFW/Documents/panel-doctors-instructions.pdf Hope that helps :cute:
  13. My parents have now officially completed their medicals - they actually went on 22nd April, but due to some unexpected minor health issues, my Mum had to go back to her GP for some investigations. It's all good now though, and everything has been sent through to Immi. I would advise a pre-Medicals check with your GP if you have any concerns, as it might help prevent precious time delays!
  14. Oh Julie - I know just how you feel!! Fingers crossed there is some progress this week
  15. So does this mean, that if they have reached or nearly reached the quota, that processing will only pick up again after July? I'm assuming it goes by financial year? I can't believe how tedious this process is. Just when you think that you are getting somewhere, the wheels grind to a halt!
  16. Sadly Alan, you're right -it is what it is! We've just got to sit this one out :daydreaming:
  17. Hi GeordieJoe, I tried a few times for both, but in the end they only gave the medical letter.
  18. Hi Julie - I know I tried twice before I had any luck. I think it's a case of which person in admin replies to you  Maybe try again in a week or so? It doesn't seem very equitable though. Tien - I only asked for the medical info in the end, as the AOS letter involves money and in previous replies they weren't keen to give me the AOS letter. Fingers crossed for you both.
  19. Hi Julie and Tien- we asked for our medical Hap id numbers and have been given the letter to go ahead. My parents are in the process of making appointments etc :cute:
  20. Hi Julie and Tien, my parents have the same date as you too! I have emailed twice now to ask for Hap Id's but have been told to wait as it is still too early. I guess the non movement this week is due to all those application who hadn't been originally given Hap id's now frantically getting medicals and AOS's done. I'm going to try again in a couple of weeks, but let us know if you have any success! Thanks :err:
