Also one more option is register with New Zealand nursing Council as they do not want IELTS to be cleared in one sitting but needs to achieve band 7in each within one year and then take the advantage of Trans mutual agreement . Plz check their website for more details. I think being completed BSc nursing in Australia she does not require bridging course. I recon go this way it will be quicker.

Thanks mansawant...Can you provide me any details of the above so that I can have a look? I am also currently looking into the NZ nursing council. Thanks again

Just want to add. I looked into their website but looks like they require registration certificate from Australian Council which she doesn't have. I might have understood you in the wrong way. Can u plz clear me ?

Sorry for the above information. The New Zealand registration is possible only if your girlfriend is registered with overseas nursing council. I thought she has already registered with Nepal Nursing Council and in addition she has done BSc nursing from Australia.

Sorry for the confusion. But I can still advise to try OET first before enrolling for one more year of course.

Its fine. She is opting to study for one more year and hopefully as rules stand, 5 years study in Australia should be enough to get the registration. She had taken OET too last month but she got a C in reading again. Thanks

I'm heading to austalia the start of next year. Can anyone reccommentd any decent nursing agenciss to join prior to going. i will initially be in sydney, but also plan to travel about to work.

thanks

Have you tried healthcare Australia?

I contacted them with my CV and they are arranging an interview at a private hospital for me once I have my eligibility letter from AHPRA. Once they received my CV a gentleman phoned me within a couple of days from London to discuss my requirements and options then a lady phoned from Australia with further details and I have had good communications with them since. Worth a try. Good luck x

Any news on your AHPRA Mummy Mann ?

No nothing yet :0(. I did ring them this morning. The lady put me on hold and then she said I should be getting an e-mail from them tomorrow but if I don't hear anything before friday to call them back. Knowing my luck they will ask for more documents. It's been a looong 5 months. Thank you for asking val xx

Hi,

I know this has probably already been asked/discussed (but searches are yielding thousands of posts) - I need the AHPRA to send a verification of good standing to the ANMC. I know there is a $50 fee for this service, but I can't for the life of me find where you request it on their website. I have emailed them via the web, but don't expect a prompt reply.

Does anyone know where this elusive request form may be hiding?

Thanks,

Trish

Hi, i hope i can get some advice. I am a Health Visitor (have been working as a Public Health specialist Nurse for past 4 years, just about to go back to HV). We are just about to apply for EOI (hubby is main applicant). I have to complete ANMAC registration as our agent doesnt do this as it is seperate from our visa application. Any advice on where to start would be really appreciated.

A warning to any nurses over 50 who are in Oz on a 457 visa.

I applied for PR with the full support of my sponsor. To my horror my application was refused. Among the reason being that Australia wants a "young skilled workforce".

I have extensive experience including management which was ignored by the immigration officer. My whole family have relocated here and my husband is working, we have moved everything here.

I have read recently that the likely shortage of nurses and midwives over the next 13 years is between 80,000 and 147,000.

How does refusing visas to nurses willing and very capable make any sense.

Australia does not deserve to benefit from my skills therefore I am thinking of heading home, my treatment by Australian immigration has been outrageous.

Has any other nurse experienced anything similar.

Hi all,

Haven't been posted on here in ages! Have a few questions. I have been offered a job in Sydney, being sponsored on 457 visa!! Firstly, I was under the impression (was told by an agent) that it was only me who was required to have a medical due to working in healthcare sector, however the info given from current agent states my boyfriend (who is going to be included on my visa) must havea medical too (he works in IT), is this normal?? Also I am looking for help and advice on how to stat on the process of PR asap.

Thanx peeps

Hey guys

I finally have everything for my AHPRA application (it has taken me much longer than I had hoped) and am sending it all off on Monday. I was just wondering if it was still quickest to send the application to Adelaide or Darwin? I don't have a job offer yet so I can send it to any state and have heard lots of nightmare stories of long delays at other offices. Any advice/information would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi everybody,

I am a PICU nurse, struggling with the documents I have to sent to ANMAC, especially the professional reference. Anybody recently done the skills assessment with ANMAC? What did your employer write in your professional reference about professional competence and safety? What kind of statements and examples? I have to write the reference myself because my nurse manager isn't much of a help to me. So maybe some of you can help me out here?

Thanks!

That is right that all applicants eg you and your boyfriend, will both need medicals.

sorry, this was a reply to the post stars down under posted. was wondering about the information on frofessional references and employement statements as i feel my manager is going to be useless and will probably have to write out some of it myself. i didnt think i could do it myself, but might have toi and just get my manager to sign or copy and sign as she takes absolutely forever to get back to the staff with a basic email!
