Hello fellow nurses dealing with AHPRA!!!

I've got a couple of questions, if anyone can help.

After 3 1/2 months following lodgement I have now been asked to supply two further documents for my application.

The first is category A - Australian Visa

The second is certificate of registration status.

I sent the minimum requirements of identity for overseas applicants (passport and marriage certificate) so I can't understand why they are also asking for proof of visa. I do have a 175 but I didn't think you needed to provide this.

Also my certificate of registration was forwarded by the ANMAC but apparently they require it to be sent directly from the NMC.

Has anyone had any experience with this. I can understand sending certificate of registration because it has been over a year now since my skills were assessed for my visa application, but I am confused re: proof of Australian visa :0/

Hi MummyMann

Here we are again will it ever end!!!

I've also been asked to provide verification from NMC but this was because the one on my ANMAC file was out of date apparently its only valid for a year. I send a copy of my visa, in fact I just sent as much paperwork as possible.

Good luck we'll get there in the end!!

That's good to hear there are jobs for nurses. We are considering the sunshine coast. Are there any hospitals you can recommend? Just waiting for AHPRA now. We have our visas and are aiming to come early December and start work in the new year. I have a surgical background.

Any information would be much appreciated.

Kind regards

Sydney as I have a job offer there, so no choice in the matter. I may be waiting a long time if the reports on here are anything to go by :(

Well fingers crossed for you. I was fortunate in that I don't have a job yet, so could apply anywhere. I am also heading to Sydney. What area of nursing a you going in to?

Hi,

just want to ask if you all received an automatic email from AHPRA that your apllication was received. I sent mine on the 2nd and did not get the email. but money was taken from my account ( "just" 225 USD so far). My husband`s application was in the same package (different envelope) and he received his email today ( same amount taken from his credit card too). Does it mean that they didn`t get my email address right? Or should I just chill since it`s sure that they have it? My license verification and IELTS were just sent last week so I don`t expect anything to happen fast but would like to make sure that they are able to communicate with me . Advice appreciated.

Hi all

I'm Louise currently an endoscopy nurse, I am also a registered aesthetic practitioner. I have just joined pio today and completed our visa application with visa bureau, so far I have glanced at nursing jobs in Queensland which is where we aspire to move but am still very new to this.

Some friends have suggested we come on a temporary visa and request for a permanent visa whilst working in oz, not sure on this though and I haven't seen endoscopy mentioned in oz...

My husband Mark is a qualified joiner and registered ssts supervisor and we have 2 boys, Ethan is 4 and Jacob is 1. I am also concerned on schools and child are but know this move is what we want..

Hello and welcome:biggrin:

. With a family you would be better off on a permanent visa benefit-wise. I don`t think you would be required to pay school fees on temporary visa in Queensland but I am not 100 % sure. As for endoscopy nursing, check this out ( only an example) http://www.hclnursing.com/job/endoscopy-nurse-jobid-af-sp-br-sp-en

try looking at seek.com.au

Good luck!

Hi Mags,

This thread will be a great help, thanks! We are just starting our big adventure to Oz after talking about it for years. I'm a staff nurse (neurosciences), my husband works in construction. Our daughter is 5yrs and we just want a better lifestyle for her. We planned to make the move by winter 2013. We are both job hunting but it's a bit daunting as we don't really know how to approach it. We know we want to live in the Perth area (to start with anyway). We want an outdoorsy lifestyle, preferably by the coast but it depends on house prices/rentals. What are childcare costs like? can anyone recommend any hospitals?

Thanks!

Hi there,

I'm a nurse and moving to Perth in 3.5 weeks!!! My background is in neuro and have got a job at sir Charles gairdner hospital. It sounds amazing. 30 beds on the ward and 9 RNs on a shift!!! I worked as an agency nurse at Royal Perth a long time ago but to be honest don't remember too many helpful details! Have you looked on the WA Health jobs website? There are always jobs for RNs but it does depend a bit what level you're looking for. I'm a clinical nurse specialist here but have taken a staff nurse position as a way in. I figure it's also a good way to get a feel for things.

In terms of child are, my son is 18 months old so I've been looking at nurseries and they range from $68 to $90 per day. My understanding is that if you're a permanent resident you get about 50% from the government paid directly to the nursery.

Hope that helps x

Hello everyone,

I’m probably just being impatient, but I thought I’d ask for a few opinions. I have had a recruitment agency looking for work for me for about the last month or so. I have not yet had any news or interviews. The person who is helping me out is saying that the job market has been a bit slow, because it was the end of the financial year, which does sound plausible, and he is expecting the market to open up a bit now. Is this a fair assessment of the situation, or are the agency possibly not doing the job that they could / should be? I think that I am just finding it hard to play such a passive role. What’s your experience been?

I am a mental health nurse, and have received my letter of eligibility from AHPRA.

Cheers my dears.

Things seem to be a little tough but I would suggest contacting the public hospitals directly as this is where the vacancies are for Mental Health Nurses and agencies only tend to deal with Private hospitals

Good luck

Hi everyone

have just received job offer for new private psych ward in Melbourne opening nxt Sept am just about to submit my APHRA application have heard can take ages in Melbourne. Was wondering if anyone has submitted to this office recently and if so how long took to get approved? Also if anyone came on 457 how much time did you have between visa Grant and arriving starting work etc? Have kids 7 and 11 so arriving week before start date not practical ideally would like couple of months to get them settled but is that feasible we could enter that long before job starts?
