I save around $1400 a fortnight because I can... Having helped out with sons wedding both of my sons and partners coming on work visas in a couple of months so might need some help..I might work towards buying something like a unit/house..I might give it to them I might go travelling dunno... I might relocate in another country the possibilities are endless...all I know is I only have me here in Australia and I depend on me so I enjoy my earnings the way I choose too...

I showed my uk one, filled in the form and had an eye test of sorts...

I was using my uk driving licence and when I got my permenant visa I was given 12 weeks to get a nsw driving licence or I would have been driving illegally . Hope this helps

You get paid for years post qualified, ie you take a job and if you are 8 years post qualified you go top of the grade..I was an8A in uk and a cne here I wouldn't do shifts again .. Just about to take a cnc job in community so better pay again. I think pay awards are good with shift work.im in nsw so not too sure about other states. Good luck!

I earn a reasonable amount (around $95k) I live well and save hard.. I earnt around same in uk and was poorer... I don't live outside my means and don't have things on credit.. Same ad uk to be honest...my kids are in uk and I'm here alone so for me personally all good no complaints!

I just spent a week in Paris and the streets were full of Romanian families sleeping rough... On another note my Romanian mother came to uk as a child where she eventually met my immigrant Russian father and I wouldn't be an immigrant in Australia to tell the tale if they hadn't started their new lives...

I got a job through nsw health site no agent age 46 on a 457, went alone to Australia after a divorce age 47, got my permenant residency this February and I am age 49... Most people tried to put me off... If you want an adventure go try it! Good luck

Is there not a student visa that let's you study and work which might help you gain extra qualifications? I might be very wrong!

I am here alone nsw and my two sons in uk. I'm actually on a holiday in uk for eldest sons wedding as I type.Will they come to Australia to work etc ? No idea... Will I ever move back to uk? No idea... Life is a journey and I miss them every day but not the uk. I take every day and it comes and I'm not in exile and I know that even if I move back they are grown men and have their own life..in fact I could move back and they emigrate somewhere...so I have no tips or ideas I just tell you that I am happy in Australia for many reasons that I wasn't in the uk... I miss them very much but not enough to pack up and leave... And I came here divorced after a long marriage with no friends etc here but am finding my feet and learning to get to know me!

I didn't know I needed one until case officer emailed it and then I completed , scanned and sent back. I have been asked for some things others haven't and vice versa so suggest you work along the basis that if it's needed they will ask for it. Good luck!

I live in cronulla and there always cafés etc with signs advertising work. I reckon it must be hard in any new place to find a job without any contacts etc.. Is there a group or site where whv can get contacts and ideas from? I think to work in bars you have to do a rsa course... Don't give up I know plenty of people who struggle but find something.good luck!

When I came over I left behind my sons and my elderly father and it is never easy to make a decision to try an adventure or something different. I told them right from the start never say never..I am not exiled I will always take it as it comes and where I will be in a years time is an unknown like most if life. I didn't really think I would stay in Australia yet a year and half down the line this 46 year old lady went from a 457 yto pr and back in the uk for a 5 week holiday to see her eldest son marry in a couple of weeks. I tell them all the same as I did before that I am having an adventure that I miss them every day and that Australia hasn't lost it's charm yet but doesn't mean it's forever.... I have westpac, they have been great.i got a credit card a couple weeks after I arrived and they are always friendly in the branches I go into.

There was a time I was counting down to visiting Australia... Now I'm counting down till my holiday back to uk to watch my son get married... Top 3 things I have been asked to bring back... marmite chocolate tampax Ha ha anyone got any other requests that aren't pork pies......

I don't know about all occupations and people say it's easier for nurses but I don't know many nurses who applied for education jobs from uk without agents at age 46 to come out on a sponsorship. I know that many people including a migrant service told me I was too old and it be too difficult if I was not coming as a ward nurse and advised me to get an agent... All I can say is I wanted to come and was determined and never say never I say. I send you some good vibes to follow your journey
