  1. Hi I struggled to find any special treatment for flights, but with using a visa agent and getting shipping prices, I was bombarded with sales calls from all sorts of other services.... One being anz bank who if you open a bank account you get a code to get 45kg luggage economy instead of 30kg when you book via Emirates. I found that useful !! Hope it goes well
  2. Hi all, Im new to Sydney, having arrived recently on my own permanent visa, and living in Point Piper area. Id love to meet some girly friends for cuppas, we all know how hard it can be when we wander around on our own all day!! My son of 23 has been here for a couple of years, hence my move. He has a great social circle but I feel I cant tag along on the youngsters nights out forever!! So anyone of similar age or situation, drop me a message! Amanda.
  3. hi, I found lots of info on the immigrations sites too, theres lots of links from your own occupation/skill information area, mine is nursing and I spent hours researching and sussed out what is needed. another good thing to do is contact some of the visa agents, I asked lots of questions around my own application and circumstances via email and also had a few phone conversations with them, without paying their join up fee, so if you did make enquiries it is amazing how much help and info you can obtain !! Obviously there is only so much help you can get before they may tell you that things can continue once you've enrolled their services! hope this helps
  4. hi this is my first ever post as ive just joined, im a nurse and in full throw of permanent application to go to Sydney next year! I visited Sydney over xmas n new year past, a few recommendations for you... as already advised, I agree lunch at the opera house area overlooking the harbour to see the bridge etc is fab ferry to manly beach, also good to get spruced up and have drinks at the bars at manly harbour, sundays are especially popular visit the sky tower, we had evening meal up there, amazing views, must be done visit the fish market, and eat there ferry or water taxi over to watsons bay, great little beaches and view of Sydney visit hyde park and the war memoriam the botanical gardens near the opera house palm beach where home and away is filmed is worth a day out I recommend you invest in a Sydney or east coast book, I bought one from whsmiths and researched before we went, and couldn't have done without it good luck hope you have a fab time
