Hi Delaneym, where is the job you have been offered, we are just about to start the visa process once we have TRN number, by all accounts 457 visas dont appear to be taking that long, fingers crossed..... hoping to be out there by mid October, I am also a mental health nurse -

Hi, personally I wouldn't bother with agencies, I have just secured a community post in NSW, I went onto the health job sites and applied directly to the hospitals, sent lots of cv's, the response initially was slow but eventually heard back from everyone and had several interviews, decided the community post suited me, just starting the 457 visa process now...hopefully that wont take too long!!! Good luck in your search there are still plenty of jobs out there and I am certain you will secure a position soon. Debbie -

Hi all, I have got an interview next week for the Perth clinic, do they have a problem retaining their staff as they appear to be employing lots lately....it does seem a lovely place to work..has any one got any experience of working there? -
Thanks Melanie for the info I really appreciate it...got my registration with AHPRA after 3 weeks, sent it to the Adelaide office as I had heard it was quieter there, hoping for a sponsorship as I don't make the points, had a few responses today from some emails I sent last night so feeling a little more positive today, thanks to everyone for the advice, thank god for PIO

Thank you Petals I will look at that

Thank you for your advice I will look into that..I did attend one in February in London (live in Merseyside) but people were'nt being invited for interviews it was more for information but it may be worth attending another expo...thanks again and good luck with your plans

Hi Melanie thank you for the advise, I am quite open about where I go..I thought the right job would determine the location but would appreciate any contacts you might have, hope to hear from you soon...where are you up to with your plans?

Can anyone please share their experience on securing a nursing job in Australia..how did you do it?..did you apply direct to hospitals or submit expressions of interest to Health Departments....how long did the process take...I have sent a lot of emails and although I have had responses nothing to indicate that job offers are pending.. I am a mental health nurse with 12 years experience and thought mental health nurses were in great demand!!!...beginning to think that maybe my age is against me (47) has anyone had the same experience or can anyone offer any advise please:confused:
