    No no you don't need ielts for ahpra if you can gather 5 years worth of education certificates. I have been a nurse here in QLD since October & I did not sit the IELTS & I also did not have to present to ahpra when I got here. My registration was sent back withing a few weeks & was given my full refistralltion number and was straight on the register. I sent loads of evidence for all sorts so no risk of being asked to send further evidence.

    Does anyone have a copy of the format they have set there cv as? I'm concerned ahpra are being awkward and want to get everything right. Has anyone been told their cv wasn't detailed enough or was done in the wrong format?

    It's the enrolled nurses who have to prove they are up to date not the diploma. In section 3 the diploma is classed as the course that is comparable to an Australian nationally agreed educational standard.

    Doploma is fine, of course it is recognised! I am the last intake for the diploma 2000 and am in the process of registering & have 2 friends I trained with also already over there so it is defiantly recognised! Good luck

    Depending on what career you do u also need blood tests & depending hat type of visa, not only for tattoos or piercings.

    No, don't need to fast, soul recommend no sugary food or drink before urine sample though, cause if it shows glucose you will need to re do & pay for it. Good luck

    Do you have to register with the state u are planning on moving to? We are planning on moving to Queensland in June but was hoping to send all my paper work to AHPRA in Adelaide as they seem quicker? Can I do this?

    Hi everyone, I'm just about to start the process. PR visa sorted but cant move over until June due to husbands job so thought I would wit until the new year, now I'm panicking after reading all this thread about how long it could possibly take! We are hoping to move to Brisbane, do I have to send it to Brisbane or can it be sent anywhere as long as I'm on the AHPRA register does it matter where it was processed?     its not really that difficult yo get back on the nmc register. If you can prove you have done some nursing experience (which you will be doing in oz) then there shouldnt be a problem. i let my registartion laps twice for maternity leave, i know a bit different, but i still let it lapse twice and not a problem either times to re register. It does seem silly to have 2 registers going. Im going to let mine lapse here again when we move over to QLD. good luck

    hi forgetmenot. i am also a paediatric nurse and applying for a visa for brisbain. Both myself and my husband are applying for a 189 or a 190 visa. we have 2 young boyd to consider and both these visa'a are for perminant residency so we are covered for stuff like healthcare and schools etc.

    hi, I am also a nurse in the early stages of emigration. we sat our IELTS this weekend and just waiting on the results then send off for skills assessment. it is all mind boggling! i am hoping to move to brisbain or anywhere in queensland with my husband and 2 young boys. do any of you know if a certificate of proof of graduation is good enough to send off, as i never received a proper certificate after graduating and university wont issue another one, only a certificate of proof (if that makes sence?) also, does the professional references HAVE to be from my current manager or can they be from any of the ward sisters? i just didnt want to tell my manager my plans just yet, but obviously will if i have to.

    Hi, my name is Olivia and im am at the begining of the emigration process and have a few questions if possible? I have already sat the IELTS and am getting everything together to get my skilss assessed. I was wondering if there are any nurses who could help with what exact pieces of information you needed for this process? 1. do i need my actual graduation certificate or will a certificate of notification be acceptable? i never received a certificate and my university will only issue a certificate of proof. 2. does the professional reference and employement statement have to me my current manager or can it be any of the sisters on the ward for this process? i didnt really want to tell my manager i was thinking of emigrating just yet, but if i need to then i guess i will have to! hope there are people with some advice. i am very excited about the prospsct of moving. :biggrin:
