  1. State-sponsored is slightly a priority over family sponsored. Don't forget though that 489 visas are only issued for regional postcodes. Where does your brother live in QLD?
  2. Anyone else's stress levels going crazy with the anticipation? [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
  3. As others have said e2language was my main source for revision. Very helpful and lots of revision videos and live chat
  4. Achieving a faster visa decision Most 'complete' applications in Priority Groups 3 and 4 can be finalised at the time of assessment. For your application to be 'complete' undertake health examinations and upload all required documentation to ImmiAccount before the application is allocated for assessment. Refer to the online document checklist for your visa subclass on our website for details of required information.
  5. I did both IELTS and PTE. The exams are very different and the structures will suit different people. I found PTE much easier and after a few tries, I achieved superior. Should be revising every day for at least 3 weeks prior to the exam. Plenty of great videos on youtube
  6. It's a pretty grey area and almost impossible to predict, as the lists are modified by the state to accommodate for skill shortages.
  7. Have you already been and had your medicals done and received your PCC certificates?
  8. State sponsorship either 190 or 489 requires a separate application directly to the relevant state through their migration site. One your nomination is approved, you will receive an automatic visa invitation. The hardship with this process is that the nomination applications are hand pick by the state going by your occupation and skill level. So if your occupation is not in demand then its unlikely to receive nomination quickly.
  9. Still waiting, but I lodged in February.1 1/2 months so far
  10. I would definitely update them about it. Other direction but my aussie girlfriend was denied both a temp working visa and a holiday visa to the uk because of drink driving as it was within the previous 12 months. Not sure about heading to aus but as it's a criminal conviction you need to update them
  11. Invitations for 60 points are like gold dust at the moment. Very long wait! Then when you are invited current processing times are 9-12 months. 189 at 60 points, you're probably looking at over a year minimum unless they increase the invitations 5x the current amount for every round to clear the backlog
  12. Police certificates are pretty standard for most visas, nothing to worry about. Each country you have lived in for over 12 months will require a certificate.
  13. Hi sanavichu, I would recommend doing your police checks now to avoid delays. They will almost certainly ask for them and its better to have all documents front loaded before being asked for them, Have you also completed form 80?

    Visa

Many visas do require a couple of years post qualification experience in the field you want to work in. As verystormy said, your skills assessment governing body will have their own requirements for your occupation. If you're serious about migrating its worthwhile speaking to a MARA registered agent and let them give you professional advice on your own circumstances and possible routes you could take. Good luck
  16. Don't forget it's not just the visa processing time. You also need to apply directly to the SA government separately for state nomination. This process can take some time also http://www.migration.sa.gov.au/skilled-migrants/nomination-process
  17. Don't let your points worry you. When applying for a nomination points aren't the deciding factor. Your occupation and needs of the state are what will get you your invite. I was invited on 60 points last month for the NT. 489 visa, so technically 60+10. But initial points only 60
  18. Massive well done indeed!!! I know your struggle, took me 6 goes to get top marks. Onwards and upwards with your visa now. Good luck
  19. Once your state nomination application is granted, you will receive an automatic visa invitation a few days later
  20. Even state nominations take time. What state are you wanting to go to? Some states will not invite you unless you have applied directly on the state's website. For example, QLD will not invite you if you have only submitted an EOI, they also require a direct application for a nomination. Whereas NSW will use skillselect then invite you from there. Each state has there own process to follow.
  21. Anybody else applying or received their grant for the Northern territory recently? Would love to see your timelines and compare
  22. I would be careful applying for nsw state sponsorship. You have to make a very strong case why you want to live in nsw compared to any other state and also be able to prove it. You will have to declare in your application about your family already in QLD, and I've seen many nominations declined because the department had beliefs that they were only using that state to get to another... Your case to live in NSW would have to make them believe that's where you want to be, more than seeing your sister.
  23. Are you applying for state nomination or family sponsored?
  24. 189 is possibly the visa to avoid at the moment, with delays and false EOIs being submitted. If you have a skills assessment etc and max points possible, i would consider other visa options such as 190 or 489 SS
