  1. CONGRATS!!! Thats amazing! We also got our grant yesterday (7th June) we submitted our 190 visa application for SA on 1st Feb and we also tried our best to get all our medical and checks done before the CO contacted us but just missed out getting in our police checks due to the May bank holiday! The CO contacted us on 7th May and we submitted the same day and we were granted a month later!!! YAY!! looking at heading off in September.
  2. Thanks, we have just found this page on the home affairs website. We have also just completed form 80 and 1221 and we are going to call our agent in the morning. Has anyone had any experience with front loading? good or bad?!
  3. Thanks for your replies, We have lodged a subclass 190 visa application with the department on 1/2/18 Not done medicals or PC as yet. So we just wanted to know if doing these and front loading them would speed up the process at all for us?
  4. Hi all, So we have submitted our application for a 190 visa to SA on the 2/2/18, we are yet to hear anything back but we are looking to be moving as soon as possible!! We have just accepted an offer on our house and will be moving in to a rental accommodation (worst case we don't get a visa and we need a bigger house in the uk anyway (hope it doesn't come to that)). We are seriously considering front loading our medicals, police checks and form 80 to speed up the process but our agent is being very cautious. We know that you have 12 months from the date that you do the medicals and PC but if we front load them May/June we will have already had our application submitted 4-5 months out of the 9-12 month wait time and since we will have already sold the house is there much worry in submitting these before they ask us for them?
  5. Yeah and I don't think anyone knows if or when they will start inviting lower points. We originally wanted to go to WA as we have good friends there but they do not sponsor for my work so we had a choice of waiting as you are or choosing SA or NSW. We have gone with SA as we have been there and stayed there for a few months and loved it.
  6. We are on the 190 which is a lot quicker for getting an invite and also once you reach the 60 points mark thats all you need as far as I'm aware, having more points doesn't make a difference. We were originally going. to go for the 189 but just before we were about to lodge the EOI our agent said there might be a long wait with only 65 points as they seemed to only be inviting 70-75 pointers at the time so we swapped the 190.
  7. We lodged our EOI on 4/1/18 with 65 points and got our invitation on 23/1/18 We then submitted our visa application on 1/2/18 and have heard nothing so far.
  8. We are hoping for a sept approval as we want to go in Nov for a holiday so could activate visas then. Not sure with the processing times up at 9-12months again it's hard to tell. Not so long ago it was 4months We are now also hoping for around September but even that looks bleak when you see 9-12 months on the wait time
  9. we were also hoping to hear soon but now we feel that we will be lucky to hear anything for months!! although our agent has said that 30th June is end of year for processing times so they have a big push that time of year to get a load done. how true that is though I don't know.
  10. Are u guys 190 or 189? sorry we are 190 SA and have used an agent which has been fairly expensive but does take 90% of the hassle away
  11. We submitted our application on 1st Feb with all docs execpt meds and police checks and still heard nothing as yet! the waiting is horrible!!
  12. We used ANZ for two years while living in Oz on a WHV and now that we are going back permanently we will 100% use them again. You can open the accounts from the UK, no charges and we found them very helpful when we needed it and the app is very good and easy to use.
  13. We are using "The Emirgration Group" as we speak and we have found to be so so helpful and reliable. Your skill assessment does seem to be higher than mine, £837($1400) I paid to do mine through vetassess. Maybe just ask them to break the price down a bit more and explain your skill assessment quotation? We are just reaching the stage of submitting our application this week and we really can't speak highly enough of how great they have been and how fast they have moved for us. Everything else in your quote is very much the same as ours.
  14. Hi mate, Here is a price calculator for any fees you would pay for the actual application as I think you will be paying roughly an extra 1800 AUD for your partner to be placed on the application. https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/trav/visa-1/190-?modal=pricing-estimator We have also payed an agent which has cost around £3000 for the whole process. I also had to take an IELTS English exam which cost £150 We submitted our EOI to SA and that cost 200 AUD There was a few other small expenses along the way like paying to get our birth certs etc Hope this helps.
