  1. The last 10 489 grants on tracker all took from 80-200 days from application. Everyone's case is very different so almost impossible to predict
  2. Sometimes you will not be assigned a case officer and it will go straight to direct grant. If you are assigned an officer it's likely they require more information from you
  3. Immigration is not an easy ordeal and they only look for fully qualified applicants to high standards. Before starting on this journey be sure to have all al quals up to local standards as AU immigration will not accept much less than the current up to date qualifications in your occupation
  4. A big mistake many people make is claiming points for years of occupation while gaining the certificate. EG. 3-year apprenticeship and 1 year after receiving full qual is only 1 year in claiming points
  5. If you have answered all the skill select questions then no not really. The English level is the only way to increase points. Consider trying PTE over IELTS As its much easier in some ways. 65 points at the moment are not being invited and likely to stay that way for the rest of the current visa program year due to the high volume of applicants with high points
  6. To me, that just looks like a rewording of whats stated on the home affairs website. Until I see it written on a document saying *fees waived/free* then I wouldn't count on it haha
  7. The fees section doesn't outline anything about temporary visas though haha. Square 1 again......
  8. Not sure if you have been through this website yet. Lots of information... http://www.study.vic.gov.au/en/study-in-victoria/international-student-program/Pages/primary-school-program.aspx
  9. I've just spent a lot of time on that website but also couldn't find much about the topic. Home affairs website doesn't give much away either, Maybe contacting education victoria directly and asking will be a sure fire way of getting an answer
  10. As for skillselect, it's not a case of the country requiring certain occupations or being in demand. Skill select is kind of a competition of who has the most points wins an invitation. There are probably thousands of electricians applying but don't have high enough points to compete. Look up how many accountants have been invited so far compared to many other occupations. Accountants generally have higher points due to qualifications and accountant is on the pro rata lists also. Don't forget to research other visa options as there is more sensible/quicker option compared to the 189...
  11. Hi stokie, I believe your daughter will need her own student visa and then that covers the tuition fees. https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/trav/visa-1/500- I can't find much info at the moment about children under 6 but ill keep looking
  12. Hi Joane, I'm assuming you meaning the 189 skilled independent visa. First things first, how old are you and your husband and how long have you been working in your profession? If you will be the primary applicant then yes, you will be required to complete a skills assessment with AASW. They are the assessing authority for social workers. Whats your husband's exact field of expertise in IT? The 189 visa is the one everyone wants, and you will be up against a lot of other applicants. It's basically a competition of who has more points for the skill select system. There are a few ways of improving your points which is almost mandatory these days to even be in with a chance of being invited for a visa.... But there are lots of visas currently and worthwhile spending some time to browse the home affairs website to get a better understanding of everything
  13. Hey Adam, do you have your NVQ level 3? Vetassess and future skills are the assessing authority for electricians. I used future skills for my assessment and I can tell you they don't make it easy and require lots of in-depth information with evidence to qualify for an assessment. It's worth looking into the assessing body requirements. When I started my process as an electrician first thing I did was call the downundercentre. They got me from stage 1 to completing my skills assessment and very reputable. I would give them a call and they will point you in the right direction straight away
  14. Hi stokie, would it be yourself doing the studying or somebody else on your visa? What type of studying is planned?
  15. NSW are hower nominating for your occupation for the 489 visa in certain areas of NSW... https://www.industry.nsw.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0009/66879/NSW-489-list.pdf
  16. Hi Ben, sorry to inform you but QLD are not currently nominating teachers of any kind at the moment for either 489 or 190 visas. They have reduced their whole QSOL quite a lot at the moment. See the link below... https://migration.qld.gov.au/skilled-occupation-lists/

  18. Migration agents take a lot of the stress out of the whole process and have the knowledge to guide you in the right direction. Emergico are really good and reputable, I'm using them and very happy so far

  20. Family 489 can take longer for an invitation as it's still points based and will be against all 189 and 190 visas. State nominated will require a separate application to the state, but is generally processed within a month. What's your occupation and points? Yes I'm applying 489 state nomination to the northern territory
  21. I believe it will give you access to all the regional postcodes including where your brother lives. The information I found is rather vague but definitley outlines that much Your obligations Extended stay pathway applicants If you were nominated by a state or territory for your current skilled visa, you must live and work in a regional or low-population growth metropolitan area in the same state or territory that nominated you for your current visa. If you were sponsored by a relative for your current skilled visa, you can live and work in any designated area in any state or territory. Nominated applicants You must live and work in the state or territory that nominated you. You might also have to: live in the nominating state or territory for a specified minimum time be prepared to complete surveys and provide other information your nominator asks for meet any other requirements of the state or territory. Sponsored applicants You can work in any designated area in any state or territory.
  22. Congrats!!!!!! Did you apply for family 489 or state nomination?
