  1. So I'm guessing everyone has heard the rumours about false EOIs being submitted and massively delaying invitations. Well, a friend of mine came across this.......
  2. I got state nomination which is an automatic visa invitation once the state/territory grant the nomination.
  3. I would definitely consider another path if your considering waiting. Keep in mind that people with 60 points who have been waiting since last July until now will still be invited before you. Plus everyone else with 60 points plus will always come first even if they submit after you. The number of people waiting is likely to be in the 10s of thousands by now. The way things are at the moment you could be waiting up to 18 months just for an invitation minimum. I would consult an agent for more options you may have. I was originally waiting for a 189 invitation from July to Feb with 60 points with no hope in sight. I rethought my visa options last month and have already been invited and full application submitted still with only 60 points....
  4. Should still be at 60 points for family sponsored, but the waiting time for an invite is pretty long indeed
  5. Agreed, seems strange that's theirs is taking so long. But every case is different and theirs may be complicated or issues have occurred. Fingers crossed everyone get the news they're waiting for soon!
  6. I've heard a few people still getting 489 grants this month. Nothing anywhere on internet or forums about it being on hold....
  7. Where did you find this information do you have a link? What is it in relation to?
  8. Where did you find this information do you have a link? What is it in relation to?
  9. If you're looking to apply for state nomination, then they will all require post qualification experience. They're looking for candidates with skills and competency in their occupation. Do you know which state you'll be applying for?
  10. Are you applying for family-sponsored or state nomination?
  11. I'm completing it tonight and will be submitted tomorrow. I'm using emergico and all they're agents are MARA registered. Strange they never pushed for me to just fill it out regardless
  12. I have just questioned them again on the matter. They assured me it's not a requirement of the application, and they have had many 489 visas granted without it. It depends on the age and history of the applicant whether they want more information. But they are happy to submit mine if I choose too. Simple answer from me is yes!
  13. I've already got it 90% filled out, so I will complete it asap and request my agent to submit it without delay. Strange as the agent I'm using is currently rated no.1 In the country and I've questioned this matter a few times with them to only receive the same answer
  14. My agent said it's not always requested by the department...
  15. That's great thanks. I've already got all of that submitted, the health check was done today and PCC are being processed. Just the form 80 I haven't submitted. Is form 80 always requested?
  16. Was that your visa grant or state nomination grant?
  17. In the circumstances a CO is assigned. What are the normal documents they ask for after visa being submitted? I'm sure I've got most already done but would be nice to be able to get any additional submitted asap
  18. Hi guys, joining the 489 bandwagon. Originally going for 189 but waiting for an invite had already taken almost 8months, so decided on a new direction. I've been using a migration agent through the whole process. MY timeline below... -Applied for NT nomination on 09/02/18 -Granted on 12/02/18 -Visa invitation received on 14/02/18 -Visa Application lodged on 15/02/18 -Medical booked for 20/02/18 -Police certs awaiting Exciting times ahead
  19. Do you have to get a family sponsored 489? Do you qualify for a state nomination 489?
  20. Hey mate I'm an electrician in the visa process now nearing the end hopefully. Heads up, it's a long process!! Give the down under centre a ring in London. They were my first stepping stone in the whole process for a skills assessment. They can guide you through the bare minimum what you'll need. Any expert accurate advice, id recommend a migration agent which is at a cost. I started the process last January and im still in the UK. Ive lived and worked in Aus as a spark for a few years so im lucky to have contacts and job opportunities to go back to at full rate, without the worry of apprentice wages which are normally minimum at $18 p/h. What year did you get your NVQ?
  21. Thanks bud. Yeah, its impossible to predict anything with timescales. I saw someone put their EOI in July, invite 1 week later, then visa grant in September!!!! So clearly things can be super quick, or....super slow hahahaha. I'm a single applicant with a simple straightforward case, so I'm hoping my application progress should be quick as I'm going to get my agent to front-load my medicals, police certs and form 80.
  22. Really hard for me as I've been eager to get back to Darwin asap since returning January after a few years out there. My girlfriend, job, vehicles and belongings etc are all out there and I'm stuck here waiting for this bloody invite and grant!!!
  23. The high quantity of fake pro rata EOIs has messed the system up a lot this year. My guess its all the staff who got made redundant in april when all the big changes took place. Even my agent said its unusual this year with the progress of invites
  24. I'm also waiting with 60 points general electrician, EOI 4th July 17. Such a pain in the ass!! I'll update on here for you when I receive mine as I should get mine before. Fingers crossed we are not far away!!!!!!
