1. You are welcome. Guys, please note you will not find your specific nominated occupation but only the "MAJOR UNIT". You need to use the FIRST 4 DIGITS of your nominated occupation and you will find it on the tracker. Cheers Bonza
2. It is under unit group 2212 in the PDF I attached on page 1. have a look.

ANZSCO code Description Occupation ceiling Invitations to 1/09/2012 % Invited

2212 Auditors, Company Secretaries and Corporate Treasurers 960 13 1.35%

3. Thanks for re-confirming that. At the end of the day this is a public forum and there will be opinions and dis-agreements, however lets not be too harsh. Having your plans/dreams shattered will always seem unfair to the person on the receiving end. Just as you are entitled to your opinion, so is he. Lets be positive guys, we have a common goal to gain PR, lets support each other on that
4. Excellent post... what was the source for the table ?? Thanks mate!
5. Hi Dream runner, 261314 is the occupation code. In the Occupation ceiling list you need to check the Unit Group 2613 :

ANZSCO code Description Occupation ceiling Invitations to 1/09/2012 % Invited

2613 Software and Applications Programmers 5160 228 4.42%

Hope this helps Bonza

P.S. 6. Cheers guys! Maybe like the post and if its got enough likes it will become a sticky? The way I see it this info is beneficial to everyone going forward...
7. That is unfortunate. what exactly happened if you dont mind me asking? Also a lot of the best talent never made it to australia because of their stupid policies time and again, those who exploited "loopholes" are now citizens and Australia still battles for quality. Dont worry there maybe better things in store for you!
8. Cheers. It makes it easier for folks and also the same questions dont need to be asked again that often
9. Sorry, forgot the attachment. I will try and update this every time there is an invitation to keep the information useful for members here. IN THE ATTACHMENT, PLEASE USE THE FIRST 4 DIGITS OF YOUR NOMINATED OCCUPATION TO CHECK STATUS. Master_Skillselect_EOI_invite.pdf Master_Skillselect_EOI_invite.pdf
10. Hi Guys, I've decided to build a tracker to check the % of occupational ceiling achieved with every round of invitation. I will try to update it frequently with every round of application. Attached is a PDF version of the status as of 1st September 2012. The next round is on 15th September 2012. Updated. Total 370560 ceiling and 1158 invites as on 1/9/2012. Source : http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/ Attached is the complete table of invitations vs ceiling for all occupations that are part of Skillselect. Hope this helps! Bonza
11. That is incredible. I took the Academic test twice (about 4 years apart) and came out with an 8.5 overall score. However both times the test was taken overseas. I constantly see people saying that the test is actually easier in Australia. This time around however I will need to take the General test and not academic which I'm also told is easier. Requirements : http://www.acacia-au.com/skilled_nominated_sponsored_provisional_subclass_489.php Possibly your skill assessment will be through VETASSESS - http://www.vetassess.com.au/migrate_to_australia/qa2_required_documents.cfm
12. What are current timelines like?
13. My latest finding is the Occupation ceilings. Make's sense to know the quota and track how many invitations are being issued monthly. The august preliminary report - http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/index/report-2012-08/ doesn't show 186 invitations. Will wait on the actual report to provide the deep dive on the August figures. Staying positive for now and gathering paperwork before I goto see a lawyer!
14. Answered my own question  Occupation Ceilings are here : http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/ <---Go to the "Reports" tab on the right and you will find the occupation code vs annual ceiling.
15. Im assuming there wont be a employer lock-in for the ENS186 either (other than your actual contract with the company)
16. Thanks for that, I will have a play with the online form to see what its like
17. Hi Flappy! Excited for you:) Regarding the timeline please use this thread : http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/158703-skillselect-ens-186-timeline.html Surprisingly I have found no official mention that successful applicants for the ENS186 need to be locked in to an employer for a fixed period of time. Would be keen to see an official document or registered lawyers opinion on this. I'm hoping to take the same path, will be keen to know your experience and leverage the findings. Good luck! Bonza
18. Hi Guys, ENS 186 - Direct Entry Am I right in assuming that you lodge an application online ONLY AFTER which you get a reference # to do your medicals? E.G. Student eVisa, you lodge your application. A Medical form gets PDF'd with your reference number which you then take to the approved centre. They will either send your results to the Migration Agent or yourself. Thanks
19. Will keep a keen eye on this thread... I hope to apply under the ENS186 Direct Entry. One question, how does Direct Entry come as DRC? I thought DRC is only for the Transition scheme? Cheers Bonza!
20. Forgive my laziness and not having searched... is there a link/thread on PIO that highlights the Ceiling per occupation/nomination or category post July '12 reforms? E.g. I am to nominate marketing specialist from the new CSOL under Direct entry scheme. Given that I fulfill all criteria how do I find out the ceiling in my respective area? Thanks Bonza!
21. d Hey mate, Seems like you have the preliminary qualifications to apply for ENS 186 - Direct Entry Stream. No benefit in 457 unless you want to stay in Australia short term with no future aspirations here. However there is the question of # of points, nomination of occupation from the CSOL etc. Based on you # of points you will be invited to apply. Check my thread here for more links etc - http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/161241-ens-subclass-186-transition-vs-direct-entry-2.html Finally, consult a good immigration lawyer for advice independent of what your HR/company lawyer says. Good luck!
22. The trick is in having all your paperwork lodged upfront. Mine took 10 days in July '11. However a friend who applied alongside didnt send all paperwork in and then the back and forth sets in. Good luck!
23. Thanks for that, I will dig through your post history. All the best with your application mate, success & none the less
