  1. This timeline and info thread is for those who have lodged their applications post 1st July,2012, under the new skillselect scheme. The Employer Nomination Scheme visa (subclass 186) is for skilled workers from outside Australia or skilled temporary residents who currently live and work in Australia. It is part of the permanent Employer Sponsored visa program. To apply for this visa, you must: be nominated by an approved employer be younger than 50 years of age meet the skills and qualifications requirements meet English language requirements. If you are nominated to apply for this visa, you must lodge your application online within six months of the date the nomination was approved. When you apply, you must select one of the visa’s three streams. Choose the Temporary Residence Transition stream if you are a subclass 457 visa holder who has worked for your employer for two years in the nominated occupation and your employer wants to offer you a permanent position in that occupation. Choose the Direct Entry stream if you have never, or only briefly, worked in the Australian labour market and have not held a subclass 457 visa for the last two years, or if you are applying directly from outside Australia. Choose the Agreement stream if you are being sponsored by an employer through a tailored and negotiated labour agreement or regional migration agreement.

  3. Is anyone else in middle of their subclass 100 assessment? We submitted ours last month, June 2018. Current wait time is ridiculous - 23 to 32 months!! Can we all share experience? Thank you!
  4. hi everyone I am new on here so bear with me if i make any mistakes but my only living family are moving to australia and want me to join them as soon as i can. I am just 70 and fit and healthy with funds to buy house (eventually) and medical ins etc so not looking for any handouts. I am getting conflicting advice about how long these visas are taking and what the chances are of being accepted and obviously the thought of being left on my own over here is upsetting but if I can't get a visa then i have no choice but to come to terms with itl. Does anyone know what the situation is for aged contributory visa timeline once I have applied? Thank you for your patience

    143 timeline

Hi, we lodged our 143 visa application in June 2015, has anyone an idea as when immi will first pick it up and make contact for police checks, medicals etc.. Thank you for any replies.
  7. Hi All, First timer here, so be kind... I'm a UK resident married to an Aussie Wife, we have been together for 9 years or so. Married for 2.5 Years. We have one 18month old little boy, with another one on the way. Due around July. The time has come, and we plan to head back to Aus in December. From what I can see, we will be able to get the kids Aus citizenship by descent, and this shouldn't cost too much, around £230 plus £95 for Additional newborn. I, on the other hand, will have to jump through the usual visa hoops and pay around 7k AUD. The waiting time appears to be around 11 months if applied in the UK and 22months in AUS. I'm interested in advice to see if there's a better way of doing things as if I apply here and don't get my passport or visa back in time for me to fly in December, then I might be better off flying out on a tourist visa, and then applying to stay as such. I would also be interested if anyone knows if there's a cheaper or better way of my doing things, as my wife and two kids i will all be citizens, will they still charge me 7k for the privilege, I thought a while back they use to do free or cheaper visa's if you had young children etc. Any help would be appreciated.

  15. Hi Allm My other half has just lodged our EOI for the a state sponsored visa in NSW (im assuming its a 190). He is a plumber and has 60 points. I have been driving him mad with questions so though it would be an idea to post on here to get some idea of what others are experiencing. Can someone give me an idea if the time getting selected differs for each profession and if anyone has had any experiences with this for a plumber? Does everyone get a Case Officer do you only get one when you have been selected? As the spouse what do I need to do? I dont seem have done much really so is there anything I can do to help. We are currently using an agent to get this visa and so far it has taken a year to get everything done and the EOI to be lodged. Its so long and i just cant see light at the end of the tunnel so any advice/experiences would be great. Thanks all ss
  16. Dear all, I would like to ask if it helps CO to confirm his/her decision if a 457 visa application is lodged before the nomination is approved? My situation is my boss lodged the nomination application in late May and received a request for more information in late June; we then have been waiting until now. My boss did not pass me the TRN as he is used to having the visa application lodgement only after the nomination is approved. The thing is, I read the following latest newsletter update on an agency website: Processing times and changes to caseload allocation The Department is undertaking a number of steps in an effort to reduce processing times. Under one such initiative, 457 processing will move to a “global allocation model” across the Department’s five processing centres. Associated nominations and visa applications will be allocated to one case officer at the same time. This is a move designed to improve consistency of decision-making as well as improving efficiency. So I wonder will nominations without relevant visa application noted are being put aside until the IMMI receives it, so that the CO can assess the case with all information at once. Grateful for your advice and comments. Many thanks, kieu
  17. Thought I'd start a post to see whereabouts people were in applications, keep track of any updates, and of course vent any frustrations! Hopefully there are a few of us on this forum and it would be interesting to hear how people are getting on. I applied 22nd jan, online. No correspondence yet, so have been uploading more evidence and info that we didn't have at the time of application, e.g superannuation beneficiary, and soon joint private health care. Has anyone has contact with DIBP yet?
  18. Hello peeps. Have lodged my side of 457 application after an agonising wait for TRN number from sponsor - had not realised they had not even got a sponsor status until I have completed everything for the skills assessment :arghh:! Not impressed to say the least. Only got 9 weeks left before I have to register in person at AHPRA so panic mode definitely on. Rant over. In preparation, am wondering if you lot have any recommendation on which one to choose for visa medicals (particularly one with quick turnaround time??). We are in Cambridgeshire so closest would be London/Essex ( Knightsbridge or Spire Brentwood), or Birmingham (Handsworth or Spire Little Aston). What would be the expected turnaround results from the medicals, do any of you know? Had read some issues with one in Birmingham in another forum (apparently very slow with miscommunications etc). We don't mind paying more as long as we don't have to play the unnecessary waiting game again. Thanks in advance for any reply x
  19. Hi there, I applied for RSMS (RCB +nomination+187visa)on 26 jun 14 in Melbourne.Employer and MA's decision to lodge altogether!! my occupation is retail manager got 4 years experience. 20. Employer nomination approved, 457 visa + defacto partner (both British) application lodged 11th June with MA, still waiting for any kind of status change on the website, medicals not requested (yet!), maybe they can see I keep checking the status online thrice a day (at least) so are going to take their time!! Got flights on hold departing 5th August which need to be booked by 16th July as supposed to be starting job in Sydney on 13th August! So much to organise and so little time to do it in the closer the departure date gets ... just want approval now! Hate being in limbo! Lol! 11/06/2013 Application received - processing commenced 11/06/2013 Application fee received Anybody had any experience or able to provide a 457 approval time frame for the Sydney office? MA says recently has been under 4 weeks, which for us should be by the end of next week (hopefully!) ...

    AIQS Assessment Timeline

Hi just wondering how long it took for feedback from AIQS please. I know it says 2 months on the website but am hoping they will be quicker:-) Hubby sending it off tomorrow.
  23. Hi Guys, It would be great to hear from anyone who has also lodged their Prospective marriage Visa (subclass 300) offshore and get a better idea of timelines. February 12th 2013- Lodged my application (everything expect for police and medical checks as I was advised this would be requested by the CO later) February 14th - Payment taken from my credit card. I believe it is now a 10 day wait to be assigned a case officer and then a much longer wait until the visa is potentially approved. Is anyone else doing this at around the same time as me? My wedding is in October this year, praying it comes through pretty swiftly!! Thanks H x
