  1. They will invite more and more people every round. This time (September) they did 2 rounds of 450 each. Also they invite the HIGHEST skill-point applications first. Doesnt matter if there is a ceiling of 50000 Accountants. If the highest point holders ACROSS ALL occupations are 80 points and only 1 of the 50000 accountants has 80 points then only that individual gets selected. Next round if the highest points are 75 points and there are 10 accountants with 75 then 10 get selected. Obviously there are some discretionary powers that DIAC has but in general this is the system. It may not be fair or it may seem stupid but the idea is to attract "the best" and they feel this is the most suitable method. Dont get me wrong, i'm not making a personal attack but it is what it is and theres only so much you can do. Stay positive I find it helps

  3. Updated. Total 370560 ceiling and 1158 invites as on 1/9/2012. 4. Guys I searched 13 pages and found nothing relating to the ENS (186) visa. RSMS is the #1 priority and I see that #2 is ENS (Employer Nomination) --Occupation ceiling applies to ALL visa subclass (i.e. 189/190/186/187) --Do RSMS/ENS require to submit EOI? There is already someone showing an interest? --Do RSMS/ENS require a "Points test advisory letter" from VETASSESS as well? (In addition to positive skills assessment) Thanks Guys! Bonza
  5. 500 pages and 500 documents are 2 different things. What you need certified is true copies of your originals. -Birth cert -marriage cert -diploma -degree -trade certifications -etc You do not need to certify things like work experience letters (submit original it carries more weight). If your marriage certificate for example is 25 pages, they only need to notarise/certify the main page or page containing the signatures. And yes it costs money
  6. http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/162657-skillselect-eoi-monthly-invitations-tracker-2012-a.html Check out my thread im going to be updating the graphs monthly to make it easy to keep track
  7. Higher points = Better chances. Eventually it all boils down to the occupation ceiling for your nominated profession and the spread/average points held by an applicant It could be that this year all applicants have an 80 score and therefore someone with 75 may not cut it. Lets says you nominate "Insurance Agent". There are 100 invitation available. There are 110 applicants/EOI 50 applicants with the highest score are selected 60 applicants are remaining with a score of 60 points They will select the remaining 50 based on the time EOI was successfully lodged (I.E. only 50 of 60 can be selected so it then becomes first come first serve)
  8. How long is a piece of string 457 is generally straightforward these days. I had mine in under 10 days. Another colleague had complications with her medicals and it took a little while longer. If you lodge onshore, with medicals and all clear paperwork upfront I would reckon 4 weeks, 6 if processing at peak capacity.
  9. Hi Guys, --Subclass 189 & 190 require EOI to lodge visa application --Subclass 186 & 187 must have an employer nomination(EOI not mandatory) --Subclass 457 TR must have an employer nomination(EOI not mandatory) --There is an occupational ceiling. Question: --Does the ceiling apply to the occupation regardless of all the aforementioned subclass? --Subclass 186/187 - Supposed to be priority processing, how is the ratio of invitation decided? They specified a limit of 900 SC.189 and 100 SC.190 invitations for the month of September. Sorry for being daft! Bonza
  10. Craigyboy, it annoys me a bit that an agent can be unprofessional in such matters! From my research over the past few weeks it appears --DIAC draws their own conclusion of your study --DIAC uses the VETASSESS positive skills assessment to enable applicants to achieve the points score --VETASSESS advisory letter can support your points score. There is absolutely no evidence on the DIAC site to support what the rogue agent has said to you. Also VETASSESS provides a decent level of support and $150 "advisory" service - http://www1.vetassessadvisory.com.au/SRGO/Online/ I would urge people to use the service when the Migration agent seems to be cooking up stories. P.S. I have no affiliation with VETASSESS
  11. I'v got the checklists for --ENS 186 visa application --ENS 186 employer nomination --VETASSESS SRG1 Application for Skills assessment And a bunch of other stuff... Just for me to get familar and create a mock file. JP wont be a problem. I'v got someone at work However looking at skillselect :http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skills...-july-2012.pdf Has me confused a little. There is a table on page 2 showing for 186 ENS, 1356 EOI lodged? Why is this the case. Or is it just that people are putting themselves out there for other employers who may contact them in the future? Does the ENS/RSMS come out of the EOI occupational ceiling as well (I'd assume so) Thanks
  12. Guys i need to confirm whether their reports are rolling over month on month or if they are just including that round of invitations... For a department of that stature I would have thought their Reporting would be fairly simple... http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/index/pdf/skillselect-activity-summary-july-2012.pdf Has me confused a little. There is a table on page 2 showing for 186 ENS, 1356 EOI lodged? Why is this the case. Also it doesnt show invitation issued to any categories but a few. Does ENS/RSMS need invitations as well?
  13. Take a look at the new CSOL - https://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/_pdf/sol-schedule1-2.pdf CODE 611211 Appears to be insurance agent

    Thanks :)

Cheers! Just replied to your other query on my thread as well
  15. Mate, Very good question. Yes as per the skill select website, these are the numbers invited vs offered. Actually Im feeling a bit silly myself. Initially I assumed that the ceiling applies to the profession regardless of visa subclass under skill select. Now I'm realising that these reports seem to only count those invitations under EOI reasons being I see only a few visa categories being invited as per this report. However I'm sure the priority visas such as RSMS and ENS are also being invited, I just don't know if they are ruled by the ceiling or not. Can someone clear that up? I.E. -- Is the occupational ceiling A total for all skill select visa (including RSMS an ENS) ? -- RSMS/ENS still need to wait for an invitation to apply through skill select? Obviously now I know that ENS don't need the EOI as there is already someone expressing interest upfront. Thanks Bonza
  16. There's already members posting that they have recieved invites today... Looks like DIAC worked more than half a day on Friday The reports will probably take a week or 2...I will add them if they pop up.
  17. Haha nicely put. Since iv started looking at this abou a week ago iv saved most checklists, printed them, highlighted stuff and then went on to classifying EOI and making a tracker... Its of no use to me but I will continue to do it for the benefit of others : http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/162657-skillselect-eoi-monthly-invitations-tracker-2012-a.html So the big challenges I see for me are VETASSESS (timeframe, not the result) and PCC Cool bananas
  18. Since the basis of the ENS186 Transition Scheme is for individuals already in Australia for 2 years on the 457 I would have imagined they waive the medical test as it is an almost identical set of test if im not mistaken. Anyway it's good Im aware that for my onshore application I need everything upfront (PCC being the issue)
  19. Good luck for the future Ports! I'v done so much research that my brain is numb and i may be overlooking the obvious : All this while I'd assumed I need the EOI and overlooked that my current employer would be nominating me! An application being lodged with Employer Nomination will not require the EOI correct? i.e. No need for EOI if --Direct Entry 186 --Employer nomination upfront --Positive skills assessment --Positive points test score --All other visa requirements fulfilled Thanks. Bonza
  20. Quick search reveals : http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/159991-457-visa-timeline-after-july-1st-change-deadline.html http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/104999-457-processing-times.html The second link has over a 100 pages of info relating to the 457 Good luck!
  21. You answered your own question heheh. Congrats! Please give us a little more details, when you applied etc. Believe it! Happy Birthday to your man Congrats to you both and good look for the journey ahead
  22. Great news! Is there a reason you are awaiting approval? I was under the impression once you have the TRN# for the nomination you can apply? Good luck! Bonza
  23. Congratulations Baz! Mate so I understand this right : --You had the employer lodge the nomination with IMMI --Received TRN # for employer nomination --Lodged Visa application using nomination TRN# Was the gap between nomination and visa application intentional or just because things weren't ready yet? cheers!
