  1. The most ironic thing is I have taken the Academic test TWICE and achieved a score of 8.5 both times. However those aren't valid anymore! Anyways its $330 for peace of mind. Anyone else?
  2. Hi Guys, Asked this on some existing threads but didn't get an answer. Is there official guidance from DIAC on what type of IELTS result they need? (It's not on : http://www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect/index/checklists/186-applicant-checklist.pdf) There's been a number of PIO members who did the Academic and then found they needed General and vice-vera. DIAC does not budge on this. For some individuals the SKILL ASSESSMENT also requires IELTS (CPA etc). Whereas VETASSESS did not request this for my skill assessment. I need to apply ASAP! Would be good to see the official guideline on this. Thanks Bonza
  3. Great! So thats WA, Perth. Child care is a relatively priority area but unsure if that played any part in your speedy approval!
  4. Hey guys for those under Direct Entry scheme, did you take the General IELTS? Thanks
  5. Just to provide my experience : Applied for my 457 in July 2011 and was approved within 2 weeks. At the time I was applying on an Indian passport HOWEVER I was at the time on a 573 Student Visa which may have resulted in an accelerated approval. It appears they may have a slightly more rigid approval process these days. Keep the faith! Good luck.
  6. I'm also looking to front load my medicals. Who has previously done this? Thanks.
  7. Congratulations. Could you just let me know some of the following details please: Visa: ENS 186 Occupation : ? Stream : 186, DRC or Non-DRC / Direct Entry or Transition? Location : Timeline: Applied for Nomination - 06.02.13 Nomination Granted - ? Applied for 186 Visa - 06.04.13 Case Officer Assigned - ? Visa Grant - 10/05/2013 Thanks!
  8. Hi Raul, You tell it like it is and your posts always have a voice of reason in them, I appreciate it! Only 2 employers. The most recent work experience i will be including as part of (Marketing Specialist, ANZSCO 225113) is : Aug 2007 - December 2009 : Fulltime marketing role (overseas, fully documented with relevant papers) Jan 2010 - December 2011 : Master of Marketing in Sydney uni Mar 2011 - Ongoing : Working in a Global Internet Marketing and advertising company and moved up the ranks to a relatively mid-level management. This is in addition to positive VETASSESS skill assessment. Guess I should consider taking my IELTS... and look to go down the Direct stream..
  9. Similar case here. Whats is the procedure for medicals if you dont have a TRN yet ?
  10. Congrats to everyone who got their approvals! Many of you do not specify in your approval post whether you chose the DIRECT ENTRY or TRANSITION. This would be very helpful (atleast to someone like myself who is struggling to decide!) http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/184661-opinion-needed-ens186-transition-stream-direct-entry-stream.html Keep the faith everyone!!
  11. Hi Guys, First of I know this is a very personal decision - still I'd like to see what your opinions are (especially Raul and other Migration specialists). Occupation : Marketing Specialist, ANZSCO 225113 Transition stream : In about 75 days I will qualify to apply under the 2 years 457 (same employer) category. Direct Entry : I have a positive VETASSESS skills assessment towards my Master of Marketing + previous work history I nominated the Marketing Specialist for my 457, I will nominate the same for my ENS186. IELTS is not an issue for me, its simply the cost. Given my employer may take 2-4 weeks to organise the NOMINATION paperwork, does it make sense in pushing and going under the Direct Entry? I have seen people previously suffer from waiting (i.e past June 30th in case new rules come into place). All other paperwork for my VISA (police clearance etc is actually ready, I just the NOMINATION paperwork from the employer). Thoughts?
  12. Hi Guys, I know that the nomination paperwork/checklist for the ENS186 (a)Direct Entry and (b)Transition are different. Situation : - Applicant lodged ENS186 NOMINATION for Direct Entry (Approved) - At time of approval for the ENS186 Direct Entry, the applicant has also become eligible for the ENS186 Transition. Does anyone here (particularly Raul) know if DIAC will be obliging to accept the Direct Entry approval for the Transition? I am guessing the answer is NO. However the fact of the matter is that the Direct Entry has more rigid requirements (Skill assessment, IELTS etc) and the Transition doesn't so I am curious if this has been attempted before. Thoughts? Cheers Bonza!
  13. Thats what Raul, a registered agent posted on the forum (check the thread I linked earlier). Looks like your orgn satisfies the training aspect ! I may not be this lucky if DIAC becomes fussy!
  14. Mate this is very very close to my situation give or take your "secret" profession that I noticed on the other thread One point you have mentioned is that the employer has successfully sponsored a number of people in the past. This is no basis for success going forward, see this thread : http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/166747-my-agent-doesnt-want-drc-nomination.html I would be keen to follow your progress
  15. Hi Guys, I am in a defacto relationship and at some point in the future we may decide to go down the spouse/partner visa route. However my partner and I both agree that we don't want to complicate the situation so I am unsure what exactly the below questions are on page 2 of the EOI. Does it lead to the application being processed any differently? Also we don't have any necessary paperwork to prove the defacto at the moment. Maybe in a years time as my PR is granted and we have built up evidence it would be possible., When I applied for the 457 as well I had stated I was in a defacto but it never asked if we intended to apply together in a future application. What are your thoughts?
  16. Is there a specific reason for the amended contract? i.e. They want to see that you have a contract tying you in for the next 2 years? Thanks
  17. Thanks for the link Raul! Further to what you mentioned regarding the "undertaking". Is it safe to say that if the company qualified for the training benchmarks while being "approved" as a 457 sponsor and then CONTINUED to maintain the same level of benchmarks (or meeting requirements in proportion to the growth of the company) they would satisfy the scrutiny. I understand you may not want to comment on this, if so no hard feelings. I am definitely going to scrutinize the file HR creates for my nomination. Unless I feel all corners were covered I would not proceed. Especially if there is the slightest hint of ambiguity. e.g. --Company has a full time trainer : This does not necessarily meet the requirements - Ambiguous --Company has a full time trainer + training it's australian citizens = Possibly meets the training benchmarks
  18. Good point. I believe this is the key. Besides the ENS nomination checklist, is there any other comprehensive source of info for what compliance needs to be in place(e.g. how do the define training (size of room, colour of walls, temperature of air, texture of carpet etc) haha. Cheers mate
  19. Raul, as usually you are telling it like it is. Champion! Mate, could you tell us whether the new requirements for nomination mean that employers need to abide by this for the 457 as well? The reason I ask is my firm will put through a few 457 applications shortly. If they come back with no hiccups I can assume DIAC seems satisfied? I am simply talking about the nomination requirements that have changed. My firm did a massive number of 457's the last 2 years, always successful. Most likely I will be the first ENS *drumroll*
  20. See my last post in this thread here : http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migration-issues/166307-phoning-immigration-time-estimate-bad-idea.html#post1936001622 Could be they lost their DRC privileges or have bungled in the past. Good luck mate, fight for your rights!
