    Good thing I emailed my case officer. He told me that my clinic was not able to properly upload all documents and was advised to contact the clinic. I went to the clinic just to know that they we're not able to upload my HIV result because of a computer problem. I told the nurse how come my wife's medical result came out faster wherein I am one week earlier. She keeps blaiming HSU, I don't know what it is but she doesn't sound friendly. I can't believe I am stuck on this medical issue. I am just one paper away for this dream. I file a complaint on DIAC website regarding this issue.

    I'd just like to ask how long does it takes to have Medicals finalised? My wife and I took our medical exams last 28 October 2011. My medical results were marked online as "Further medical results received" on 29 October 2011 while my wife's medical results were marked as "Received" last 04 November 2011 (since she was asked to repeat the urine test after one week). Her Health requirements were finalised on 09 Nov 2011. I was just wondering why the status of my medicals are not changed/updated yet. Wife Medical Timeline: Nov 4 - Medicals received Nov 7 - Medicals referred Nov 9 - Medicals finalised My Medical timeline: Oct 29 - Medicals received by the way I do not have any medical issues.

    Hi davemc, I am in the same boat like you way back August 2011. I received a positive SS though I 'm short 5pts. I sit two consecutive IELTS but still get a 6.5 in writing, hence my SS expired. I emailed SA but they told me it is not possible to extend the SS. I relodge again but this time for a 475 SS which gives 10pts rather 5pts of 176 SS. My wife also had a recent positive skills assessment and proficient IELTS as my backup plan that will also give me 5pts. I think the sure thing to do here is to ask SA if they can change your SS from 176 to 475 without relodging, if you want to be sure of your application or take the IELTS risk.     Hi Samfaren, The last VIC state sponsorship does not require an applicant to provide IELTS that's what my friend did and got a positive SS from Vic last January 2011. The new VIC SS now requires IELTS which you can see in their current list. New SS, new rules. I guess better send an enquiry to VIC to be sure.

    I got my 475 SS from SA approved last October 7. They received my complete set of papers on September 12. I was monitoring the online tracking everyday and on the fourth week another column was added. "Application Decision: Waiting" When you have that status you can now calm down as your papers is already being processed. Expect it within a day or week. I got my result after one day. :biggrin: I'm very lucky because after three working days my occupation is no longer available.

    The low availability of Systems Administrator last only for 3 days, then it closed. Very lucky to have an approved SS before it closed.

    I was monitoring SA SMP everyday. My position Systems Administrator changed to "Medium Availability" and it only last one month then it changed to low last week. Then after a week it's now closed. I am very lucky to get my State Sponsorship from SA, one week before it close. I was really worried. I emailed them Oct 5 whether the processing time of 176 is different from 475. October 6 my online status now have "Application Decision: Waiting". Then Oct 7 approved. Last August 4, I was granted 176 Visa in just two weeks though they just recently open that time. It expires because I lack 5pts back then.

    is it Ok to submit the fax copy of my wife skills assessment result from VETASSESS? Can't wait for the paper via post, though we choose Express Courier International. We want to submit an application to DIAC asap. Please advice, thanks.

    @prashyt I know how you feel, I am in that situation too before. I took IELTS 4x but never had a score of 7 on all bands. I have the same scores as yours. Won't you be able to get 65pts if you choose the 475 Visa? The 475 Visa is almost the same with 176 Visa but the 475 is given 10pts in State Sponsorship. That is something I did not know. The 475 gives me a total of 65pts but my wife also had a skills assessment that's give us a total of 70pts. I went a lot of mental break down because of that organization. I would like to ask what country are you taking IELTS? Philippines is not a good country to take IELTS. Some people I knew flew to Singapore just to get 7 on all bands. It is a big money making business. Every exam there are 500 candidates multiply that with P8,640 they earn more than 4 million. The only expense is paper, assessor and CONTRACTUAL workers.

    I'd like to ask opinion whether to go 176 or 475 VISA. I was granted 475 SS from SA, I have chosen 475 because the State Sponsorship is 10pts compared to 176 SS which is only 5pts. The 475 route gives me a total of 65pts. However, my wife recently had a positive skills assessment from VETASSESS. She has all the requirements to obtain partner skills, which are the following: - positive skills assessment from VETASSESS, both occupation should be in the same SOL. (Me: Systems Administrator, Wife: Journalist & Other Writers, both occupations in SOL 2.) - Proficient IELTS 7,7,7,8.5 (I wish I have this kind of score, she didn't even took a review) - more than 3 years exp as a writer - Age: 27 It means we can obtain a partner skills right? which is based on DIAC website 176 eligibility. The partner skills will give us a total of 70pts in 475 VISA. I wonder if I should email South Australia to change my SS from 475 to 176. or be safe to go 475? The only difference I see is that I need to pay $270 after 2 years to change 475 to 887 VISA which is really ok for me. Though I was wondering if I should maximize the points.

    I am on the same boat before. I had a positive 176 SS from SA dated August 4 but was not able to make 7 on IELTS. I even took two consecutive exams but no luck last score was 8,7,7,6.5. I relodge for a 475 SS instead of 176 to get a higher score in SS. I got a positive SS again granted last October 7, 2011. I was worried because my occupation in SA SMP is already Medium Availability. Good thing, they still granted me an SS. I emailed them before, but it is not possible to extend after 30 days. Goodluck.

    Hi All, I was browsing DIAC website today and I noticed some changes in Relative Sponsorship. For 176 Visa it says: Where can a sponsor be living? Your sponsor can live anywhere in Australia. Link: http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/176/eligibility-state-terr-rel-spon-02.htm For 475 Visa it says: Western Australia can now sponsor all location, before Perth is not included. My brother and sisters are in Sydney while my cousins are in Perth. Does this mean my relative in Sydney can sponsor me already? I thought before relative sponsorship is possible but for selected areas of Australia. Can anyone shed some light, I am very excited. :wink:

    @mjkwon, Thanks for the info! :biggrin: I'll just focus and review to get 7 each band in IELTS this coming August 13. I will still have two weeks remaining to submit all documents to DIAC if I pass IELTS. Focus and review for now. Thanks again :notworthy:

    Hi All, I would just like to ask my concerns. I am a Bachelor's Degree graduate but not major in I.T. although I have 4 I.T. subjects. ACS has given me Group B assessment with 6 years relevant experience. Am I assessed as a Bachelor's Degree so I can claim 15pts? For the professional year, does it mean I can have 5 pts? because right now I have 7 years working experience. If this is all correct, I can now lodge my 176 visa. I just received my state sponsorship from South Australia today. My score is as follows: Age 27 = 30pts 5 Years Work Exp = 10pts State Sponsorship = 5pts Bachelor's degree = 15pts (if correct, or else I will fall under 10pts) Professional Year = 5pts (if correct too) Total = 65pts My IELTS score is 7,7,6.5,6.5. I got 6.5 in speaking and writing :embarrassed: but I am scheduled to take the IELTS exam again this August 13, hoping this time I can get 7. But if the above info is correct. I can apply already without IELTS. Thank you in Advance people. :hug:
