  1. Hello forum people! I've just come across this cool site, so thought i'd get posting! Here's the deal.. Heading to Oz in September (with a couple of friends), landing in Brisbane and wanting advice on the best hostels/places to stay that arn't sky high in price. Have never been to Aus before however i keep being told how expensive it is, so i'm slightly worried about money out there and how to keep things sweet, cheap 'n easy and still have an awesome time :cute: Planning on having a month in Aus, then wanting to hop over to New Zealand to visit before returning back to Aus - this is when my next advice portal begins...where to even begin looking for work in Aus (taking into account there will be 3 of us, is it even possible to work nearby/alongside your travel buddies?! or will we have to split up?) Is it easy to find a job in Australia? Anyone else travelling there at the same time feel free to keep in touch, would love to meet new faces of course! Look forward to chatting! Holley. xo

Hi, is anybody there taking their IELTS test next Saturday? It's my second attempt and can't say I am looking forward to it...
  8. Tasmania had a warmer than average September because of a series of warm fronts from the north. The Weather Bureau's September results show a drier and warmer month than normal. Two warm fronts in the first and third week of September meant the month's average temperature was 1.2 degrees higher than normal. The warmest day was on September 28, when temperatures in Hobart reached 23.9 degrees. The average temperature in the state's capital was 16.3 degrees. Cold fronts from the west meant that side of the state had near average rainfall, but rain clouds didn't make it to the state's north or east, which both recorded rainfall well below average. The wettest part of the state was Mount Read where 470 millimetres was recorded for the month.

  13. Well Hello All Just a few short lines to say I'm here finally in Sydney!!!! Arrived last night at Sydney airport and am now at home. Flew with Cathay Pacific, (not sure I'd go with again as space around the seats seemed so non-existant although the staff were pretty good). I was over my excess but the lovely lady let me off a couple of kilos but still had to pay a whopping 78.00pounds. Anyhow forget that - I'm here and its freezing, so going back to bed after I've done some more postings. Good luck to everyone in the middle of or nearing the end of this migrant process. I'm prepping for stage 2 now!
