  1. You could ask the Doctor who did your medicals for copies of reports - like you would your GP.
  2. They will treat mental illness the same as any other illness and as Marisa says will look at the potential cost which is now $51,000 (I do know of people with MI who have secured visa's). They may ask for a specialist opinion (Psychiatrist) when it gets to the medical stage , again this is no different than any other condition - an acquaintance had to see a cardiologist for her visa as her BP wouldn't record within normal parameters during the medical. There are some agents who specialise in assisting people with medical conditions - it may be worth paying for a consult and give your history, any admissions etc., so they can advise you more professionally than we can on the forum.
  3. I love sports but not the beach (I enjoy the river more). To the OP I agree with others, if it didn't hit the spot then cross it off your list. I love it and felt the same that you did about Melbourne and Sydney - Australia is a big place - look for somewhere you'll feel at home
  4. The problem of applying for positions from overseas is that your WHV won't be that attractive to employers who may be looking for someone to fill a substantive post. I'm not sure about the current rules for WHV and farm work, but if a company were to sponsor you, my guess is that they would then be applying for a different type of visa rather than the WHV.
  5. Do look at the visa rules for the student as there may be a restriction on hours you can work during term times also
  6. School Age Calculator Australia (schoolinfo.com.au) This suggests it's right - Prep in 2021 and year 1 in 2022

    Your last meal....

My dad made the best meat and potato pies (cheese and onion ones too), he used to bake up a storm when he came to visit and fill the freezer. I was the only one who liked the cheese pies so did give some away - dad became legendary

Unfortunately, the members of the forum can only offer you advice and support. You will need the assistance of a lawyer

    Your last meal....

I think they call it pickled pork here. An English butcher might have it.
  11. This thread has had a bit of a tidy up.
  12. We let our British Passports expire - and didn't get challenged on returning to the UK on our Australian ones. It may have something to do with length of stay perhaps?
  13. When I went for my medical (many moons ago), my son and I had a condition that would have required additional information. I was advised to take consultant letters advising of: The condition, any investigations, treatments etc., and what the prognosis would be. I was able to submit these at the medical and there was no further request for any other reports/investigations. It helps to supply some additional information from your doctor at the time of the medical.
  14. Unable to make any recommendations I'm afraid as we didn't use one. The majority of people usually do as you're doing (renting an AirBnB or holiday let) and then hunting for a rental. If you have an idea of where you want to live you could join a facebook group for that suburb and ask if there are any lease breaks. I don't think anything beats being able to view a house and a suburb yourself rather than relying on a third party who doesn't really know your personal preferences
  15. It's a little while ago now, but I do know some migrants who had some difficulty in getting employment for around that period - luckily not both of the couple so that had one salary coming in.
  16. What's your profession? AHPRA is the registration body, it does not do skills assessments to satisfy the visa requirements

    Age

We moved in 2007, i was coming up to my 43rd birthday and hubby was 42. The landscape was a little different in that we'd both secured jobs, but at the moment there are lots of gaps to fill it seems. Our children were 11 and 7 - the move has been great for us all, we haven't regretted it. I don't wish we'd have done it earlier as the time wasn't right then.
  18. We came at the beginning of January. My daughter had moved to Highschool in the UK for 3 months. We had secured jobs and managed to get a fully furnished rental so knew the area we'd be living in for the first few months. I'd asked the school if there were any children who wanted a 'pen friend' before we moved and my daughter was put in touch with a couple of girls who she emailed/chatted to prior to coming over which made breaking the ice so much easier.
  19. Didn't quite come across that way - it sounded a bit harsh and judgmental.
  20. www.jobs.health.wa.gov.au if you're looking for something in health. Child communities (if you're looking at child protection), also take a look at seek.
