  1. I know that some employees don't offer anything and some will cover flights. You may find that there is a clause to pay back any relocation if you leave prior to the visa ending

    Arthritis

I guess the good news is that it appears to be PBS listed and will cost about $41.30 (at the moment) for a prescription and 5 repeats. It is a medication that has be be prescribed by a specialist. I would get your rheumatologist to write a letter outlining your treatment and including: your previous trial of other medications (get him to list them all and your lack of success). How long you've been on this medication, your progress with it and his recommendation that you continue. I know some people who have made tentative inquiries with specialists in Aus prior to leaving the UK and the specialist (private) has in principle indicated they're happy to receive a referral. The person has then registered with a GP and got a referral to that specific specialist. Have copies of your rheumatologists letter so you can give one to GP and one to specialist etc.
  3. Please do remember that however well intended, our forum is made up of people who aren't qualified to give migration advice but rather their opinion and own experiences. The rules of migration change so rapidly. ETA All the agents who contribute on the forum have to state they're an agent in their signature with their MARA number. Paul (one of the reputable agents mentioned in a previous post), who responded to you has this clearly displayed.
  4. It's many years ago since we moved, but my daughter started high school in the UK in the September and we moved in the January. At that time, WA primary was until year 7, so it meant her going back to Primary for a year.
  5. I can only answer for myself Marisa but you make it sound like Perth has nothing at all (even when people who live here say they don't believe that's true). As I said we have an exceptional ballet company with international dancers, touring exhibitions and Pre-covid, I've seen numerous 'big' national touring productions now i'm wondering if they played Perth by mistake lol.
  6. Perth has had quite a lot of big theatre productions - which ones didn't we get Marisa? If people are into arts -we have an excellent symphony orchestra and the West Australian ballet season this year has been exceptional, there's been some fantastic touring exhibits at the gallery.
  7. Is there any chance you can do them before re-locating? You might not get a date for months in Perth
  8. I think you'll find that true of the UK also, I didn't let my children play out unsupervised in the UK either - the world has changed since we were children.
  9. I had to see a hematologist and some of the blood tests he requested weren't bulk billed
  10. My GP is multi-practice and open 7 days a week and until 10pm at night. They do minor procedures which as you say takes the weight off some ED's. I book on line and can usually get in to see my preferred GP within a couple of days.
  11. Do you need to? (Sorry I don't know the rules), as Aus recognises defacto relationships i'm sure it would be seen as that and therefore significant albeit not biological. Did you put him down as your step dad on your PR application?
  12. If you're just applying for a visitor visa you won't have to prove any funds.
  13. We agonised over telling our parents (or rather I did), particularly my dad who when we left would have been on his own. He was a little upset but also supportive having had the opportunity to work overseas when younger but my mother didn't want to and he said the chance never came around again and that was something he would have liked to have done. My hubbys' parents were OK and didn't have any major reaction, although his 90 year old grandma was planning her trip (sadly she died the month before we moved). I agree with Quoll in that you have to think about what's right for you - we can't live our lives for other people, but to also acknowledge that for our parents/siblings there may be a sense of loss/grief.
  14. It's a long time ago for us but we brought our cat. As hubby said we'd had her longer than the children and couldn't leave her behind unless the vet said it wasn't in her best interest. Like Amber at that time it was a 30 day quarantine - when we collected her they gave us the crate she'd travelled in and it was very roomy and had her cushion from home in it. She was healthy but a little quiet on picking her up but was fine within a couple of hours. She'd been well cared for whilst in quarantine and we didn't have any issues.
  15. You should be able to find a rental, some will be more competitive depending on the area
  16. We were talking about this at dinner last night - we're desperate to be able to see my brother in QLD and also travel, however, we do feel it's likely (particularly here in WA and our cautious premier) that quarantine of some fashion (depending on where you've been) will still be in place - so you'd end up using a big chunk (if not all) of your leave entitlement to cover this.
  17. Do they have a bank/savings account - you can ask the bank for a statement or a letter from the school?
  18. So convenient for the city and Freo
  19. I'm in Leeming too - Welcome to our suburb
  20. if you are degree trained then you won't need to do a bridging course.
  21. Kmart is always good for cheap everyday essentials to tide you over and won't cost you a fortune to set up.
  22. Not summer yet, we've just gone into spring, you're seeing the equivalent of April showers lol
  23. Are you talking generally, because I'm sure you don't know how often I can afford to go over East or how long I'd stay, you seem to judge what everyone else does based on what you would do, but we're all different and you can't make generalised sweeping statements based on your own likes/dislikes.
  24. Freedom!! - Good luck with settling into the 'outside world' Which hotel did they put you in?
