Quokka2005
I'm off to freo to stay for a few days. The hostel looks nice. I'm seeing it as a treat for living off noodles for dinner for the past few days lol
Guest241083
Of course we are interested. It reminded me of when Tink was on her UK trip. She would say things like she had a lovely day with a lovely PIO member who she stayed with or went round Liverpool with etc etc but would never say who it was. I just never understood why but I guess there is a reason for it. ..........and I hope Stacey meets many off Pio.....! .........but you've a better memory than me PC...! .........been a few times to the uk.....and some I met are no longer on Pio.... ..........so unfair to now mention them....I keep in touch another way.... ..........the oz ones are.......and I'm sure I have said who I met..... ..........I'm so pleased you were interested in my trips ,the bits I posted.... ...........as I'm interested in Stacey's.... ...........what she thinks of the places she sees... ............some photos ......... ............lovely to share someone's adventures.......Thankyou Stacey for sharing yours.....Xx
flag of convenience
Just curious but why is it a secret the members you are visiting or being taken out by ? Isn't it nice that someone is seeing you. I wouldn't have thought it needs to be kept a secret who it is who you socialise with. I know some others do this to eg Tink but I've never understood why. If I was meeting a member for a drink I wouldn't feel the need to hide the fact. Unless people think other members might get jealous but that sounds a bit childish. I wonder if it really matters? On first glance I thought so as well, but considering there is already so much 'behind the scene' activity , just to say meeting up with a member is surely enough. I'd leave that to nonsense like Facebook, and leave it at writing about impressions of places visited and further plans than about other members unless somehow relevant. Or pizza on the terrace. Prepare for Friday night Freo mayhem.
Quokka2005
If a job is 35 hours a week, free accommodation and food and $500 after tax. thats a good deal isnt it??
AJ
If a job is 35 hours a week, free accommodation and food and $500 after tax. thats a good deal isnt it??Not sure what the full rate would be but if thats means you got no accommodation, bills, food to think about, thats 500 to yourself! Your not here to make big bucks! It lets you live during the week and party at the weekend
Quokka2005
haha party at the weekend. its absolutely in the middle of nowhere, its got like 100 people there. thats less than my village back home. a lot less actually. but it means i could do the east coast next year and i probably wouldnt have to work as much next year if i was careful
AJ
well if there's nothing to spend your money on imagine how much you could save! You could have a pretty good party with 100 people ;-). Have you heard of the programme The Farmer wants a Wife, remote farming guys (sometimes cashed up) looking for a wife. You might find the man of your dreams and live happily ever after on a farm with 5 million coos! Quokka2005
I'd have to drag him back to a bigger place haha. but yeah a 100 people could be a good party at new year!

Does it count toward your regional work? If so, even better. Just make sure they sign you off on it properly.
Quokka2005
No hospitality doesnt count i wish it did though! I guess theres always the chance of doing some farm work with one of the farmers
MARYROSE02
You would be able to save $400 a week! No rent or did to pay for. Sent from my D6653 using Tapatalk
Quokka2005
Probably almost 500 unless i drink myself to death there lol. Which is a possibility actually because i thought id save loads on herm and i didnt. we just spent all our money in guernsey and the pub! This is a lot more remote than this though. The good thing is I'd be able to do Albany, denmark etc on the way back to perth. My fear though is bushfires now but maybe I'm being silly
AJ
If your getting offered it I would take it, apart from Christmas casuals jobs are going to slow down now till after January, even Gumtree doesnt have anything much on. Also a lot of the kids will be filling up the vacancies over the school holidays.
Playghirl
Forget about the bushfires. People in fire regions have plans in place. I think you should do it. A little routine will give you breathing space, even if you only do it Agee weeks. I picked spring onions in Wisbech and camped. I think I got 15 p a bunch though that sounds to much now! I picked corn in France for a month or so, for very little money, but the comradery was lovely. You will find lots of experiences along the way. I wish this job was in kalgoorlie and then I could be on that kalgoorlie cop program that i used to watch lol

flag of convenience
You've been in Australia too long, you're talking to a girl who's Friday night outs were in Glasgow, now that's Mayhem I'm fully aware of Glasgow's reputation. (although never been) She'll probably manage to show her appreciation, to unwanted aggravation with the sweetest of Glasgow kisses then. Although not entirely convinced, Stacey is part of that rough and tumble world. Edited November 27, 2015 by flag of convenience
