......... never tried them tbh .........I make my own .........and agree with snifter .........we find a hot English Christmas dinner a little too heavy in the heat .........sea food is a popular choice ........lots of fresh salads .... .........and an ice cream Christmas pud is a refreshing alternative ime .........to a hot one with custard .........merry Christmas..!

........I’m doing Christmas dinner tonight ........just family this year ........in past years the boys brought someone from work who had no where to go ........we have met so many from all over the world this way ........everyone brought a plate of something ........and a gift to put under the tree for anyone .........had some laughs at some of the things .........I’m cooking today’s for this evenings meal ..... ..........the meats will be served cold with salads .........sea food to start and an ice cream Christmas pudding with fresh fruit .........cheese board for later with wine .........the grandchildren will probably have a swim before they go home

.........I must admit qld is different..! .........but does it really matter if you don’t fit the qld norm..! ........that your different..? ........I’ve never found that has limited my enjoyment of here ......I have a very diverse group of friends ........perhaps that’s what attracted us lol .......it’s a very different way of life here ........there isn’t as much close knit groups ime ........people float in and out ........but I haven’t struggled for company .......even if it’s short lived ........it comes down to expectations .......,and qld isn’t or ever will be Europe ..... ..........sorry to hear you’ve not had a good experience

........belong....such a funny word imo ........I’ve never....belonged....anywhere ........but I’ve enjoyed living everywhere ........found friends ........things to enjoy ........each place so vastly different to the next ........to me it’s about taking yourself/family unit .... ........and embracing everything the place has to offer ........friends take time ....so get out there and meet people .......volunteer....join a club .......odds are you’ll meet someone you click with ........Australia is a land full of foreigners ........that eventually.....just become aussies ime .........if you like a Sunday lunch down the pub in front of a roaring fire ........be prepared to love a Sunday barbque .......at the beach under a blue sky ........to belong anywhere takes time and commitment if you really feel the need..

........just a suggestion about coats ........I bought mine from a charity shop ........donated it back after a dry clean ........would mean the kids could enjoy some countryside walks ...

.........when do our children fly the nest..? .........I too was an independent child ......,,,,travelling across the world to school with a younger sister at 8..... .........my children all left home at 17/18 though the youngest is living g part time at home atm .........till next year when he will of left to follow his career .......,,but I know of many whose children are still at home into their late 20’s .........lots of reasons .... ..........is a push needed..? ..........I don’t know .....I don’t think unless we are in that position we do know tbh .........same as elderly parents ..........until the time comes they need help ........can we decide what we will do .........as I’ve said before we have to be content with our choices.....and those of our family .........life’s a web we weave....with many a part of it.... ..........wether the threads are strong or weak...... ........,,often determines our path ime ..

........a few years ago I was ready and made plans to return to Europe .... .........I had a place to live.... .........some family and friends near .........but my mother who lives here became sick ........a son with health problems ........would they of managed without me? ........of course they probably would .... .........but could I be content not being there in there time of need? .........no......so I made a choice .........and even though here is not my first choice atm .......,.i try and do find contentment in my decision ........yes we only have so many years .......but we are part ,usually of a family ........and sometimes the happiness of the whole....helps the contentment of the individual ime

........I really don’t agree with the phrase using your daughter as an excuse tbh! ........it’s a reason....a commitment you feel and want? to adhere to ........that’s what family is about ........wether looking after an aged parent .........or a child not ready to move on .........it’s a choice we make .........but even if we sacrifice some of our own plans .........we have to feel content with it ........there are some that do put others first .........before their own hopes and plans .......that’s life....their choice ..........but be content in your choice ........feeling forced into a situation will result in a sad experience for all involved imo

........agree about supermarkets..... .......so many frozen and packaged goods..! ........from an Indian meal to a Sunday dinner .........must admit the microwave got good use on my last holiday in the uk .........and enjoy the country pubs.. ........they are unique to the uk ........best of luck with your move back...

.........and so many want to settle in Australia! ......Australia has nearly three ......times the population growth .......of the average of developed countries. ........just in my local area the increase in high density housing .......has put a strain on schools .......even though more have been built ........roads once easy to get from A to B .....now congested ........and jobs as the son has found.....harder to get ........it’s a sign of the times ........not just here .... ........it’s the world we live in...

........must admit I like the storms ........rarely last long ........and very refreshing after a hot day

........family commitment has a way of holding us...! .......but to be unhappy while only seeing others needs .........won’t help the situation .........perhaps by going and trying to see if your happier in the uk ........your daughter will accept the situation and either make her own life here ........or find returning to be with you is what she needs .........life passes quickly who knows what’s ahead .........be happy with your decisions ..........good luck with whatever you decide

.........nothing wrong with tank water ime ........you need to ensure they are big enough .......or you have enough of them .......as long as the filtration system is in good working order they are fine .......worst case if no rain you have to have some delivered .........keep an eye on levels ! ........bore water varies .........it does stain... ........often people only use it for washing/showers toilets ........some boil it and filter it .........same thing applies get it tested for drinking before you do .........many rely on these water supplies and as long as maintained and checked they are fine .........though must admit the bore waters I’ve tried I don’t like the smell or taste

.......ours is rubbish tbh ........and we have new estates just down the road ... .......our land line is broken some where between the road and the house .......and when the son watches Netflix there is constantly a red circle trying to load .... ........got a new nbn box ready ........hope it’s a bit better but we will be on a node
