UK Midwives....? problems with new AHPRA criteria
JenPen replied to Middy79's topic in Careers and Vacancies
Yes exactly how I read it....bloody rubbish and I'm devastated if I'm honest as I didn't realise i would have to pay to complete supervision..... I turned down my dream job in UK as would mean relocating and I didn't want to do that of we were emigrating in a yr or so and now I feel like it's all been for nothing and I don't think I've ever felt so upset or deflated about anything. I feel my future has been trashed. -
If the only way in is supervise practice and the hospitals support those who enter under those conditions then it is a small price to pay and I know 12 months will fly by. I don't mind the supervised practice per se as it is a different model of care etc - it is the point that it may reduce my chance of me getting a job!

My thoughts exactly….well I have more thoughts but I will not vocalise them… I am just shocked really that they have done this. Makes me mad! Experience of case loading should be enough not the number, especially when it is not part of EU requirements!

Hello Bob Please could you give me a breakdown for the following: 1 x Birman Cat 1 X Dachshund To move from London Heathrow to Perth WA Many thanks JP

I have caseloaded in my training and have had a lot of continuity of care in different aspects but not 20 separate caseload experiences!! This will hold me back too not a happy bunny! -
Crazy isn't it!? I really don't know what to do now boooo!
-
I am gutted by these new changes to be honest and think it will hinder my application for a job…..not fair when it isn't an EU requirement! Anyway, yet another hoop to jump through - I guess it will be like being a Student Midwife all over again!
-
Thanks for info! I called immi and they told me as a midwife you have to take academic ielts and score a min of 7 in each area! Waaaah! Anyway more money haha! Thanks for input and good luck with your journey xx
-
Hello everyone Long time no speak - I have been totally snowed under, so apologies for coming back on and asking a question straight away!!! :wubclub: Please can someone tell me whether as a Midwife you have to take IELTS anyway? as part of assessment or something? (NOT for points!) Thanks in advance :wubclub::wubclub:
