1. I don't think beaches are rubbish I don't think it is toooo cold to swim but it isn't malaysia either so it isn't like a bath 90% of the time It is changeable but far better to prepare than the UK Everywhere has its flaws if you love it you will accept it for what it is
2. Well hopefully he can lifeguard too…think he will be bored just on the tools in OZ nothing like the old barn conversions out here in the West Country eh? Thanks - Jeyes - shall get some :notworthy:
3. Hi Mr JP is going to hopefully take his tools to OZ - has anyone had any issues as obviously he has been cutting wood and they are funny about garden stuff and plantation….. Thanks Mrs JP
4. I believe so yes as already said you are still an employee and you have a job title, however, if you decided not to return to that job - your official employment would end at the start of your maternity leave if that makes sense.
5. It is very sad that so many opt for a c/s due to fear or fashion. Yes not all labour and birth goes smoothly which is why c/s and forceps is an option - prior to these interventions babies and mothers lost their lives. However it shocks me that obstetricians are willingly performing c/s without a real obstetric, medical or mental health reason. It is worse for the woman, not only in terms of recovery time and pain but also long term. It is also proven to be worse for the baby, bonding, postnatal depression, breastfeeding and has a higher infection rate. I would not opt for a c/s out of choice but I am thankful they are there to help women and babies that require the intervention. Women have been giving birth for years we are quite capable of doing so vaginally and are now very lucky to be able to have some help should things deviate from that norm...
6. I am not sure at the moment, but as I am looking at moving permanently to Australia, I would like to think that I would want to stay in my home which would be there….I can't see why I would give everything up that I know and love there (should it happen) to come back to a place I left because I was not happy in it, to live the last of my days……just my opinion of course. However, it will of course be where I would be most happy and perhaps where I would have family around to comfort me and listen to my bonkers stories over and over and over again because I know I will be a crazy lady and probably have a lot of cats too
7. Thank you soooo much Snifter
8. My Husband is considering going over on WHV and then applying for PR visa once he has a job lined up!

WHV to PR?

Hi - another question  So Mr JP can get his 2nd year WHV - all a ok!! Do we need it? If he goes on a WHV and finds a job etc can he apply for 190 whilst out there? IF so what is different? I am assuming he would have to leave the country to re-enter OZ with his new PR visa? Would you recommend or not bother? Anyone done it this way? Thanks
11. Hello So Mr JP is the main applicant - we are going to apply for Visa in March hopefully; my question is do we tick partner on SOL too and get the 5 points extra? When do they wish for the evidence of this? I ask because I qualify as a Midwife in September, so could we tick this box as this will be the case when we enter Australia…..or would it not be looked at because at the time of application I would not have been qualified? Thanks for any help just trying to scrape more points now as looks as though Mr JP cannot get SS anymore :arghh:
12. We have just seen this too - having a mini panic!!!

14. poor chap!!! Scary these Sharks…..!!! But the sea is a dangerous place….However, I am sure more are injured or killed still on our roads!
15. This is great and will do this! Thanks heaps xx
16. Thank you so much for your replies! I thought we all had to activate visas at the same time so was unaware that he could go and then us later, so thank you. i continued to think about it anyway before reading replies and thought actually regardless of cost (I never thought it'd be cheaper or be able to get out of meds or PC that was not intention) I realised that I wouldn't want us to go through the immigration process more than once. we have been several times and have family and friends so we aren't worried in that aspect but thanks for your advice/thoughts. I guess we best get that ball rolling thanks again jp
17. Hello Everyone! Hope that you are all enjoying the sunshine wherever you are…freezing here at 1 degree this morning and very frosty but still it is sunny!! I want to know whether my Husband can apply for a visa etc and get it granted and go to Australia, get a job and set everything up and then add us on to it? Can that happen? Just wondering so that there is no pressure on him if it doesn't work. We want to move as soon as we can but think this would be the best option if it is at all possible….. Thanks in advance! JP P.S. I think I know the answer but wondered if there was a loophole!
18. Just so you get a better response - you are probably best to set up a new thread then all those wonderful chippies will sort it for you good luck my dear x
19.

Congratulations on the job - I haven't been on for a while so only just seen that the phone interview went well. Is it sponsorship or PR based? When do you start? Yes I expect I will work in the UK for a bit before moving, to answer your question to me in the thread….although not having to would be fab but don't think it is an option! Hope you are well xx

20. Congratulations - well done!!! You must be so happy!! xx
21. I was very young when this happened and was shocked at it and it did scare me and I have always found it an horrendous act! However, I have never read it before, never knew what they actually did......my boy isn't much younger and my girl a little older. Sobbing my heart out - how is this monster allowed to walk free? Poor James' and his poor poor parents it is just too hideous to contemplate how they are feeling, I feel sick knowing this Man is alive and free!
22. I just cannot believe someone would have the audacity to actually smack someone's child that is not their own, no matter what their beliefs are in relation to discipline.
23. Good luck!! I am interested to hear how you get on (I am qualifying soon), as I will be in your position I hope in the near future. Hope all goes well x
24. Brilliant!! Thank you - now I don't feel like I am missing something - I was looking at them thinking..."how are they different??":err: TVM for clearing it up
