  1. It cetainly is a minefield but I think if your determind hopefully youll find a way.I think it was a 175/176 visa when I started lol although I now sometimes I think if id just got a good agent then I have had my visa but hey ho hindsights a wonderful thing
  2. I am the same been trying for years and one way or another was always short of points never really looked at the 489 as thought you had to start application from the start after the two years and was worried my son would then be too old to be included.Im still not too sure of the ins and outs but from what I understand is that as long as you can prove you have worked and lived in a regional area for 2 years then that's all that's required you don't have to redo police checks medical ect would appreciate any information on this as this is now looking like s viable option for me if I can find a state offering sponsorship to Nurses.
  3. Hi looking for some info please. I have recently applied to AHPRA for registration and my plan is to go in person while on Holiday to Aus to pick up my registration then apply for a modified assessment skills assume that on my return. I have a friend who has recently registered and they have sent my a copy of details they had to show. 1) foreign passport with travel visa 2) proof of Aus address and or 3) offer of employment. I was wondering if any one has recently registered in person on a tourist visa and even if this is now possible. Thanks
  4. Thank you for the info
  5. Hi just looking for some advice as I see that you all have recently applied for AHPRA registration. I am filling out the application form and I am a bit confused in regards to proof of identity documents ? I have previously had registration in principle twice :wideeyed: but it's been cancelled as I did not attend in person within the year. However I'm unsure if I only take the identity document when I attend in person and don't send copies of passport , utility bill , marriage certificate at this point. I am also awaiting a reference number from Fit2work which is also new  lol Thanks
  6. Hi, just found out out about the Pte test and have been researching some info online. I have noticed the Edinburgh test are on Mondays at 2 o'clock and was wondering if anybody knows how long the test normally takes ? Thanks
  7. Thank you so much for your help  I only logged in to offer some advice to sns and it's helped me so much already. I am going to look at the Pte as I sat Academic IELTS Once for my ANMAC registration and the General seven times and kept missing out by 1/2 a mark on one section every time. I am already planning to get my AHPRA first then appear in person in Aus to validate then apply for ANMAC modified assessment so needing the PTE /IELTS for extra points
  8. Thank you was just reading through the recommened thread and just going to look for some practice material is there any you would recommend also how long does the test take ?
  9. Hi sns I think you only need 60 points so one way or another you should have enough  I am a staff nurse with a Bachelors Degree in Adult Nursing and 5 years work experience. I'll have to look at the PTE I sat IELTS 8 times and eventually gave up so any alternative might be worth looking at although I live in Scotland so not sure if there are places here that do it ?
