  1. I applied in October 2015 and got registration in principle in Jan 2016, I arrived in perth this week so went to the AHPRA office with all my ID and was told I should be fully registered within the next 10 days. I put my inlaws address and just got a letter stamped from the bank. I was told I will not need to pay anything until May 2017 as this is when you reregiister!!. I made sure I got the NMC to resend a copy of my COGS and 're did another police check just to make sure they were within 3 months. Good luck
  2. I presented at the perth AHPRA office today, was a much simpler process than I imagined. I took my stamped passport, bank stAtements with my OZ address on, copy of visa and uk driving licence. I asked the NMC to resend my COGS on 20th September and they only received it at AHPRA on the 25th Oct and I redid my fit2work again just to be sure and they had received that too. I just have to wait for an email now confirming I'm on the register.
  3. I will be presenting at the perth office in about 3 weeks so it's good to hear what is needed. I asked the NMC to resend my COGS last week and it might be a good idea to 're do my fit2work. Fingers crossed its not a stressful process. Do you just turn up or do you need an appointment??
  4. We arrive in Oz on the 25th October so the kids are currently in school in the UK (squeezed into last year's uniform lol). They will then start school on 31st October, part way through term 4. We thought it would be nice to settle them I for a few weeks before the dec/jan hols and hopefully they will feel more comfortable going back in Feb.
  5. Congratulations, I had a job interview via Skype for a MH nurse position and almost 2 weeks now and I'm still waiting, I have another one in 2 days so fingers crossed. I had lots of scenario questions too, nothing about the MH act fortunately as I am struggling to get my head round that a bit
  6. Hi, we fly on 24th October so in the same situation At the moment we are decluttering the house, getting all paperwork in order, stating to cancel direct debits, getting medical, dental and opticians records together, completed tax form. We have opened a bank account, applied for schools but that's about all for OZ yet so look forward to your replies.
  7. We are in the same position, had 4 quotes all slightly different ranging from £2,100 to £2,800 so really confused as to what to do for the best. Just trying to do a bit of bartering with a couple of companies I liked.
  8. Congratulations, it's a great feeling.
  9. I'm currently applying for nursing posts in Perth and finding exactly the same. I either don't here at all or just get apply closer to you moving (October). I've tried a number of agencies so hoping I can at least get some casual work on arriving.
  10. I sent a letter from the course leader outlining my practice\teaching hours for my MSc alongside the transcript which only outlined the modules and this was accepted
  11. Yes, most of the jobs that are coming at the moment are for the private sector. People in the UK are worried about revaluation for their nmc registration, they should try credentialing!!!!!!
  12. Yeah I've been looking its more tricky than AHPRA but I might have to just get it done if employers are requesting it
  13. I'm going to Perth, not as good for jobs there I believe
  14. Nursing question? I've started applying for mental health nursing jobs, no luck so far but I have been advised by a couple of organisation that a need to be credentialed with the Australian college of mental health to be considered for the post. I've looked into this and the process looks really quite complicated (and costly), very much like applying to AHPRA with all the evidence I need to supply and all documents certified. Of course if it will help secure employment I will do it, just wanted to know if others have applied
  15. Hi, I am only an RMN with 14 years experience in inpatient, crisis and community. I have recently completed my MSc in health professional education and have my PGCE in higer education, I currently work as a nurse educator. I have been granted my 189 visa and also have AHPRA registration in principle. I am looking to relocate to Perth in October this year if this is an area you can help me with. Please feel free to inbox me if you can help Regards Louise
