  1. Overwhelmed by the responses here, read every single word. Thank you! I will look through the SOL and seek professional advice, however I'm beginning to realize how naive I was about this whole thing. Thanks again everyone!!
  2. Wow thanks so much for all the replies. I knew they were strict but I never knew it was this difficult. If I get the qualifications needed, how long do I have to work in that position (in Oz) in order to get permanent residency? Is there an accepted qualification that only takes 1 or even 2 years to acquire?
  3. Thanks so much for replies. To be honest I was expecting better news, I'm really disappointed Although it's a dream of mine, it also clashes with an even bigger dream to become a "successful entrepreneur". There has to be another way, there just has to be... Otherwise I guess I'll have to sneak over on a dingy
  4. Is there no visa for business owners? I don't have any qualifications other than a college diploma which is not highly regarded. Living in Oz is worth jumping through the hoops for, but getting the right qualifications could take years and I don't want to work for someone else for another few years after that....
  5. Thanks for commenting Yeah, I will probably end up doing that but thought I might get a little clarity from the community here.
  6. Hello everyone, I was on this forum a few years back when I was on a 1 year WHV when I had some issues getting the second year WHV. It's such a great/helpful community and I'm excited to be back on here. So... The experience in Oz really opened my eyes to say the least. I mean the people, the weather, the outdoor lifestyle, the open space living and just the raw 'feeling' of opportunity in the air. It's been just over 2 years since I returned from the working holiday, but I always knew I wanted to and actively spoke about going back permanently at some stage. My girlfriend and I had planned to go for it after her university degree was complete (in 3 years time), however she left me a few days ago. It struck me that I now had nothing to wait for, and I should seek advice about what pathway is right for me. So I'm 23 and I run my own business in web development, which I could easily continue in Oz as it only requires a computer and telephone. I have about £10,000 in savings. If at all possible I don't want to have to work for someone for a long period of time in order to gain rights to live there, I'm just so comfortable working for myself and developing my business. So what is the best pathway to take for someone in my situation? Thanks!!
  7. Taken from the immi website for WEB DEVELOPER. Unfortunately I don't have an equivalent or higher qualification in the field, nor do I have the alternative 5 years experience as my work is generally freelance and very sporadic. I feel as though despite my abilities, I am going to be starting at the bottom of the ladder in this process
  8. Wow, thank you for all the responses! It's a shame to hear that her degree will not suffice Is it the case that only one of us needs to be accepted in order for us both to get visas? I am prepared to do whatever I need to in order to gain my visa, but she feels she must continue with her degree either way and I of course support that.
  9. Thanks! If I need years of experience on top of a qualification that's going to take me 5+ years in order to qualify. Surely there's a better way?
  10. Hey everyone! Last year I had the privilege of spending a year in Australia on a 417 working holiday visa. I have been back in the UK for a year now and I am absolutely sure that the quality of life here is inferior. I currently have a girlfriend who is getting her degree (psychology) and is also set on coming with me once her course is finished in 3 years time, and if I'm not mistaken, this will open up the skilled migrant visa option for her? As for me, I'm 22 I build websites I have a diploma in IT. I've visited on a working holiday visa (if this gives me an advantage for emigration?) I have no criminal offences Considering that I have some time to prepare, what is my best option for emigration? Thanks in advance, Lewis
  11. My girlfriend is Australian. I'm English. I've already been out there for a year on a WHV to be with her. I'm back in England now and we are trying to figure out the next step. I have roughly £5000, I need a plan in order for us to live in Australia together. My only plan right now is... Apply for the offshore partner visa (£2000) Wait until approved Fly out and be with her The only problem with that plan is, I know they can take up to a year to decide on the application. I won't be able to fly out there often to see her, we will spend most of that year apart. Is there another way I can do it and we be together?
  12. I've tried looking for reviews but can't find any, they are a well established website by the looks of it but would put my mind at ease if someone could vouch for them personally.
  13. Sorry, I'm leaving FOR the UK, should have worded it better my apologies. I'm looking to claim my tax from working in Australia. I did this at the end of the financial year using etax online, however this is not available for an early tax return.
  14. I've found this... http://www.ato.gov.au/content/00318281.htm Still really really confused. What exactly am I supposed to print off and send? If anyone has been through this process please lend a hand im pulling my hair out!
