  1. Hi, I am an onshore applicant from a High Risk country according to to the DIAC. I lodged my Visa application on 26 November, has uploaded all the required documents except the PCC which I will upload tomorrow. Medical was done on 3rd December. Unfortunately my medical was classified as Case B and needs a specialist assessment. I have already arranged an appointment with a specialist and hopefully the report from the specialist will reach the Medibank Case B team by 25 January. A Case officer has already been allocated. I am just wondering how long does it take to process for a 190 Onshore visa applicant to grant visa. Currently I am holding 485 Graduate skilled visa. Please share your experiences as well.
  2. CO will definitely ask for the PCC. to keep yourself in safe side its's better to provide the PCC.
  3. Hi, its not clearly mandated how much experiences does an applicant need. One thing you can do is to mail ACT migration unit and raise this matter to them. They will definitely be able to answer your query. As an ACT nominated applicant, I can tell you that if you can fulfill other requirements, you will be able to be nominated.
  4. its taking time to get the PCC from my home country, will it be a problem mate ? Hopefully I'll be able to send that by 2 January. Moreover My medical was referred to a specialist. I have arranged an appointment with a specialist mid of January and the specialist will need to send the assessment to Medibank Case B.
  5. wrong number mate You are talking in the ACT forum
  6. http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/act/159863-anybody-received-state-sponsorship-since-1-july.html You can have a look at this thread as one guy applied as an Advertising specialist. As per my knowledge You need to show a strong evidence ( from job ad from seek etc ) that your profession has high demand in the ACT as at least 5/6 jobs are available or were available in the near past. If you can show enough evidence & by providing you CV and reference letters, there is a good chance of getting Nomination from the ACT Govt. otherwise not.
  7. you are supposed to get the invitation almost instantly as soon as the the nomination is approved by the ACT MIU.
  8. It also happened to me my wife's name is missing but my Agent has told me that theres nothing to be worried about
  9. If you are Australia then You can do you visa medical before lodiging visa application and after lodging even before the CO is being allocated . but if you are outside of Australia it's better to wait for the CO.
  10. You wont get invitation unless you get the nomination from your nominated state.
  11. I have lodged my Visa application on 28 Nov, got invitation on 16 Nov. Already uploaded almost all the Docs, Booked visa medical on 3 Dec.
  12. You will hear very soon, Normally after getting CO, it takes 2-5 days to get an outcome. Finger crossed
  13. You can live but won't be able to survive :happy_face_vampire_ as your movement will be limited Canberra has a wide network of cycle track and drivers are also very friendly with the push bikers. I suggest you to plan a buy a car, Petrol is expensive also if you compare with other big cities.
  14. Thanks a lot mate, I have booked for visa medical which will be done late next week. One more question, As I have not submitted my visa application yet, there is a question on the form where its being asked, at which office I am gonna lodge mt visa application? Will it be Brisbane or Adeleide?
  15. Hi, Can I book & do Visa medical before the CO asks? I got my state nomination and going to apply next week. I have already got the AFP clearance cert and applied for the PCC from my home country. Your advice is highly appreciated. cheers
  16. I got my ACT nomination today, hope to lodge visa application late next week.
  17. Mine was refused. But My agent has already re applied without paying extra money. I am an ICT business analyst but working in a different sector as most of the ICT BA jobs in Canberra need security clearance, even If someone works in a private IT company as most of the private org work for the Govt agencies. ACT MIS unit informed my agent that the job I am working at this moment is not a skilled job, which is partially true, its a Semi skilled. but as many Canberra graduates did manage to get a waiver regarding this matter many times before, I am hopeful that I will also get that waiver. My agent also handled same kind of case before and informed me that he is gonna talk to the MIS unit face2face. Hopefully everything will be sorted out within this week. Fingers crossed
  18. Hi, Is there anyone here who has applied or planning to apply for the ACT state nomination ? Please feel free to discuss your experiences and opinion.
  19. My agent informed that a case officer has been assigned 6 days back, still no sign of any result
  20. N7, did you try http://mycareer.com.au? Jobs which are posted at Canberratimes are also posted there. Canberra times posted many local vacancies which are sometimes do not posted at seek.com.au.
  21. I have been following this thread for a month ! living in Canberra as a TR, I also have applied for the ACT nomination end of last month ( guessing as My agent submitted on behalf of me), I am also waiting for a positive result very soon. Canberra Migration business unit is bit slow and bit strict about issuing nomination or sponsorship what so ever as people from overseas tend to leave Canberra right after 2 years commitment. But they are also very flexible to those who are genuine and can fulfill all the requirements. Lets see how it goes with me.
