I'd like some help with doing this but am worried I'll lose the small amount of money I have by choosing the 'wrong' advisor. Any info would be much appreciated Thanks in advance Hello I do specialise in this area and literally deal in this space daily, that said I do and will at times be unable to assist in providing Advice (and implementing a transfer) if I feel that our professional fees (these vary case by case as some cases are not as complex as others) against the value of the pot and or we might add outweighs the value. SusieRoo
NSW opens to vaccinated overseas visitors from 1st November without the need for any type of quarantine! Good news for a lot of parents who can now be with their families at Xmas.

Good news for a lot of parents who can now be with their families at Xmas. However there's confusing mixed messaging here. The Prime Minister made it quite clear this afternoon that the caps will initially be lifted for returning Australians, residents, and their families. "It won’t be a free-for-all for international travellers". NSW may accept them - but they have to be permitted to enter the country first. LindaH27
Parents to be classed as immediate family therefore can now enter - presumably they still apply for exemption?
Biggsy
Just seen a press conference by Scott Morrison. They have redefined the term immediate family to include parents of Australian permanent residents/citizens. https://www.facebook.com/scottmorrison4cook/videos/558818668519219/

The processing time, if you apply today, will be at least 10 years and probably longer.

They are all in same queue which is processed in strict date order. If you look you will see how many are before you in the queue and divide by 3600 to get the years left to wait. Tulip1
It’s very good news that parents are now classed as immediate family. It means I’ll get out there before too long but it’s a shame my 21 year old won’t be able to come with me to see his siblings. Still it is what it is and I’m grateful they’ve added parents to the list.
