  1. Hey Lavers, I know you're in front of me so I'm watching your case carefully I'm hoping to get my PR in February the latest but it's a LONG wait and I'm losing my patience.
  2. Hi all, I'm concerned with how much time the 190 processing time is taking. Does anybody know why is it so slow now? I know from last year that it usually took 3 months to first co contact and I'm now sitting at 122 days and nothing is happening. I'm aware that people who applied in February (!) are now receiving first co contact. I understand the immi cuts affected invitations but can't find the answer to why processing time is the slowest in a decade. Thanks and good luck to everyone!
  3. It does affect your state sponsorship very much! It may not be in the official conditions but if you don't have a job offer they simply won't invite you. They wanted the same from me because my family was staying TEMPORARILY in other state and I ended up providing a sufficient commitment letter (after a long conversations and fighting with victorian government).
  4. Never ever tick 'all states'. There are states that would never invite if you tick it because they need you to be genuinely interested in one state only (VIC is a good example of this). Create a new EOI for another state. If you edited the original EOI I'm afraid it did affect your place in the queue. Good luck
  5. Hi Hailey, This info is available online. It'll take you 2 minutes google search.
  6. If you lodge two separate EOIs to different states they won't know that you've lodged to other state as well. I've heard that SA is faster but be mindful that they have specific conditions for RNs.
  7. Hi, I have no idea if they request it in all cases. They wanted it from me because I lived in Sydney for 4 years so I had a history in other state and they weren't sure if I'm genuine. This is typical for VIC as they want people to commit fully and preferably stay there even after the two year commitment. I'd say that your wife points are sufficient but the whole immigration is currently extremely slow (slowest in a decade I've read) so it's a waiting game. Good luck to you
  8. Hi, There are a few things that worry me on your case. Are you aware that you might be waiting for invitation for months and then when you apply, they have 9-12 months to process your application? I don't think it's a smart move to go to Australia on tourist visas, they are valid for 3, max 6 months (when you provide the itinerary etc). You can't work on tourist visas. Actually you can't work until you receive a grant. This would cost you huge amount of money. You might be able to go back and wait on student visas? But honestly, it's probably best if you just go back to your home country and wait there. If you're in Australia when you're granted 190 you have to travel out and back in to activate. Cheers
  9. Hi Surath, I don't think the government decision would affect the processing time of 190 visa. This would most likely affect invitations, not processing times. BTW my immi account is now showing 9-13 months. You should be contacted soon. Good luck and keep us posted.
  10. As far as I'm concerned, the health check must be valid when they grant you the visa so my one has expired in August.
  11. Hi, I'm just wondering if anyone can help me with this particular situation. I've already passed a health check 08/2018 for a different visa. I've lodged VIC 190 in May 2019 and obviously wanted to front load everything but the system doesn't let me because 'you've already passed your health examination, wait for the Co contact'. Is there any other way how to do it before the CO contacts me? It would save me a lot of time waiting but I can't generate my HAP ID because of the old health check which won't be valid anyway.. Any suggestions? Thanks
  12. Of course it can be overseas experience. However, this experience must be recognised by ANMAC as far as I'm concerned. They'll recommend to the government how many years they've recognised but the final decision is still upon the immigration whether they'll give you the points for it or not.
  13. That's so weird, of course it doesn't matter because of claminig points. However, it does matter when it comes to waiting time for the invitation... I found that agents are usually confused with nurses, in my case I had three agents all of them saying and recommending different things. Make sure you have a good one!
  14. Hi Rachel, If it was up to me I'd probably choose to go with medical. If that's what your professional reference says I don't see a reason why you should go with NEC? Did you work in Australia after you finished your bachelor degree there? But then gain, you're not claiming the 5 points so... If you send anmac your reference and your code as medical I can't see a reason why they'd reject it. Good luck
  15. Hi all, I thought it'd be great if we shared our experiences with CO contacts for VIC 190 lodged in May. I've lodged my visa on the 30th of May, so it's been 80 days since the lodgement. No CO contact so far My status remains 'received' Share your experiences please.
  16. Hey Shiella, Someone recently asked the same question and I gave a pretty detailed answer. Try to look it up on the forum. Also, it's not you who's writing the reference. Good luck
  17. Hey Ali perhaps you can provide more details about the steps in this case? Like do they have to be registered in principle before lodging eoi? And when to proceed with anmac?
  18. It's because of people like you that the government is making it harder and harder for others to migrate. There's nothing to be proud of on your side.
  19. AHPRA is for the Australian nursing registration and ANMAC is for the skill assessment. Unfortunately I can't help with ahpra offshore as my case was different (I got registered while living in Australia). I believe there's a 'registration in principle' and you have to show up in present in Australia for the full registration... Look it up on the forum, someone's done it recently. Keep in mind that anmac takes about 4-6 weeks and ahpra is also lengthy process (and huge pain in the a$$).
  20. Correct! I believe you'll be fine. Does your wife already have AHPRA registration?
  21. Hi Jamie, A lot of people go through the process without an agent, myself including. As long as there's no issues and your case is not complicated you should be fine, it's pretty straightforward. With your wife's points you should be invited soon and the timeline for 190 processing is currently 10-15 months. You can check immi tracker for more info. Good luck.
  22. You can definitely lodge two eoi for both, 189 and 190. Your points will change after you turn 33 as far as I'm concerned.
