  1. I think if you read the details on back side of BL. It is very difficult to read and shipping lines has kept every minor points to cover up. You are right, it is very difficult for you to recover the insurance amount from them. They have thousands and one point to justify that you are wrong in doing some thing so claims stand null and wide, unless or otherwise you are very smart to recover the amount.
  2. Hi LucyHose, It is really very interesting to know about shifting of household luggage. It is very informative. I would like to suggest a few more things about transporting the cntr from one place to another which are as follow:- 1. You must under stand that 20’ container can carry about 28 M3 or 20 tons of weight. 40 ‘ cntr 56 M3 / 25 tons of weight Price wise 40hc rates are cheaper, if we compare volume and weight of 20’ and 40’ but depends what is your volume. Does it suits to carry LCL or FCL What are the items to be carried.? Any restriction on ban items destination port. Fumigation policy. For 20 feet cntr Mark a line 20’ long, 8 feet wide and 8 feet high. Same can be done for 40and 40 hc. Pack your items tightly, breakable thing should be packed in boxes and crates Start placing your stuff in between the lines you have marked, this will give you clear idea what cntrs you are required for you luggage. Prepare a packing list Copy of invoice Weight and dimension of each box. Call the shipping line, get the all in rates from them. Check the destination charges. Are you going to despatch your cntr as FOB or CIF? You want store door delivery. Normally try to get Master OBLs. If you get House BL there are many hidden charges are involved, ask the agent to provide you OBLS ON WHICH ALL THE RATES ARE PRINTED. Ask for the direct vessel. Get the allin rates from shipping lines and agents. There are certain agents which has filed there rates, they might be cheaper than the rates provided to you direct by the shipping lines. Where do you want to stuff the cntrs. What arrangement do you need to take the cntr in shipping yard, What vessel you are going to use? Is there any transshipment? How many free days at port of destination. Before the arrival of the shipment at destination port, submit your documents to the shipping line or his agent to issue you the delivery order. If you don’t know the customs rules and regulation than it is advisable to select a good clearing agents to avoid demurrage, detention and correct filing of the documents. I feel these are the few points which I know and passed over to you.
  3. After depositing the AOS, 10 years period count from that day. My understanding for contributing visa is to go state away for 143 not for 173. I can suggest you due to my experience.
  4. I think, if at all some one has to come on contributory parent visa than he/she come on 143. Perhaps every thing count after you become the PR. 173 is temporary residence visa. Most of the benefit you get after you become permanent Resident. Moreover you have to apply with in Two years for visa 143 once you are on visa 173 and this is not extendable. You have to leave the country with in 28 days. The money you spent on visa 173 will be waisted. Your 10 years period to get pension of AOS support start once
  5. Any Pakistani couple coming to Sydney. We can accommodate him by providing one bed room. We have a house of 3 bedroom, drawing dinning and kitchen, lawn front and rear of the house.
  6. If the waiting period is 14 months for citizenship than perhaps patients should be shown. You can not fight with rules and regulations. There might be certain checks and balances. On every case might be different, in some people cases may take less time and in some cases more time. I think once the department acknowledged the receipt of your documents than wait till the time your waiting period is completed. You will receive the reply automatically in this period, so don’t get frustrated, relax and enjoy your life.
  7. Hi Amber, Thanks a lot, Your advises are very valuable and can be considered sympathetically. Best regards
  8. I assume that AOS was given and accepted after seeing the statement of account and may be other connected things. The job of the person gone, anything which he has saved spent on rent and other commodities, now the circumstances has changed. Visa holder also spent every thing which he had brought with him. Under these circumstance what they should do living in welfare state, no money to pay rent and to purchase other commodity. Not getting any job and Centrelink says can’t get anything ask AOS provider who is also jobless. Please find the solution to this situation.
  9. Sometime I think, you pay, perhaps $48000 and AOS $ 10000 per person, now a days, after meeting other tough conditions of 50 percent children should be citizen or PR of Australia, meeting other condition of medical and police certificates etc, etc. All it involves money and what you get in return from Australian gov Medicare and can do the job or can run a business. You have a very less chance of getting a job as your are almost touching or above 60 years of age. Your foreign experience don’t count unless or otherwise you have local experience and have done some certification or diploma from local institution, even then you have a little chance of getting the job. Now I compare with parent and contributory parent immigration. Parents want to immigrate to live closer to their children as their children had gone to Australia and are contributing something in the development of Australia. The parents and children can’t come and go to see their love ones very off and on as they will be facing difficulty in getting the visa and can’t offered the expenditure of travelling. My question, if on parent visa you pay less fee but time period is more but in contributory visa more the money you pay but lesser the visa period. Parents visa gets social security benefit after two years where as contributory parents pay more money and wait for 10 years to get the benefit. I think after paying large amount they should also get the social security benefit after two years of their stay In Australia, this should be on humanitarian ground as they have very less time left over to spend with their children. Please for give me if could not explain my thought properly due to my language problem.
  10. Assurance of support period is too long that is 10 years. It is a great responsibility on person providing assurance of support, in most of the cases I have seen the visa holder pay themselves but it will be on the name of the person providing AOS. Let us say of visa holder is not capable of earning and he can’t meet his day to day expenditure than the responsibilities of providing boarding and lodging is of the person providing AOS. In case the person who provided AOS become jobless and don’t have any money to support them. They can request the Centrelink after seeing their circumstances they may grant them some money but it it will be recovered from the person providing AOS when ever he start earning. Centrelink will not provide till the time 10 years period is completed even if you become the citizenship. This is a very tough condition. In normal circumstances if you come on parent visa after two years you start getting the benefits of Centrelink probably if you are without a job. My understanding is that no one should give AOS unless or otherwise he has a lot of money to support them for 10 years. Amber has explained very well. I suffered as I could not get the properly understanding about Visa 143. Before applying
  11. I have applied for citizenship. I shifted my residence, now I want to inform the immigration office about my change of address. I went to Parramatta immigration office to inform them but they gave me a chit to talk on that number. I rang them up. The call was put on hold for more than two hrs and I could not talk. Please tell me, how should I inform about my change of address.
  12. I think, it is from the date you first entered as a PR but I think the period you stayed outside Australia after your first entry will be deducted to complete the period.
  13. Malik Sahib, you are right but I was suppose to send the original documents by mail though I sent the photo copies of the documents on line and also the receipt of post but they did not bother, depend on the case officer decision. Anyhow my problem was solved after going through the appeal.
  14. Please keep in mind one thing more. If immigration have given you 28 days they want the required documents to be received by them before the expiry of 28 days. What happened to me, I deposited my documents for visa 143 through post 10 days earlier than the expiry date. It did not reach to them within that period, though non fault of me but my visa was refused. I had to go in the appeal thus wastage of time and money therefore This my request to you is, to ensure your documents reach with in time period to avoid complications.
  15. Visa 173 and 143 Why you want to get this visa.Let us analyse this visa. When you send your son or daughter for eduction or for the job in Australia. You are almost touching the age of 60 Plus when you are becoming eligible to apply for Visa 173 or 143. The amount for this visa for both mother and father (parents ) is almost $ 100000 Plus assurance of support $14000 Plus many other unforeseen expenditure like medical etc etc. In Asian countries this amount is almost your life long earning and you just spend it to get the visa to the Australian Government which is non- refundable.only assurance of support money can be claimed after 10 years.what you get in return, Medicare PR, you can run a business or do a job. If you are on visa 173 which is temporary , you have to wait till you become the permanent Resident. How many years will it take to become PR. When you become PR than you will do certain courses from your own pocket and it is confirm you will get the job or not. Mind you, your age factor is playing. If you have to get the medicine you have to pay full amount. Centre link will not give you any thing before 10 years of your stay, after becoming PR. The rent of unit is too high and to meet the day to day expenditure it is very hard. It amount to spoiling your life at this age but if you spent the same amount in your country, you can lead a good life. I think in this amount you can come to Australia for 60 Times to see your children. No one tell you the correct things and you are the sufferer. I have come on visa 173 in 2010 and was converted to 143 but still waiting to get my citizenship. I had passed a very tough time. You must understand that your children have sufficient funds to support you for 10 years which is not a joke. Regards
  16. I think before applying check your documents many time, go through the instruction very very carefully, meet their requirement, not yours. They see documentation according to their laid down procedure. If you miss one, it means delay in process or it might go again in Q. I believe, if your documents are complete and you meet Australian requirement than don’t bother about any thing. You will get the reply in your own turn. You have to control your emotion. It is their procedure, not yours. They can grant the visa they can refuse it also but you should 100 percent complete your things and do not let the things on chance. Don’t ask irrelevant things like who is your case officer. It will not have any effect on you. I think that way. Wait and see the period of process and after that you may ask the status of your application.
  17. I think in most of the cases visa is refused for the first time, reason are standard, less visit to other country or you will not come back
  18. Bridgeman, Thank you very much on your prompt reply and putting me wise on the subject. Hoping it should not take more than a couples of week to complete the process by the department, probably if the Q is short. Let us hope for the best. Regards
  19. I applied for citizenship on 20 Sep, 17. I am over 60 years of age and on visa 143. My wife is citizen of Australia. We had a mind to go to Europe togeather and I would like to travel on Australian passport. Can some one inform me that how much time I have to wait to get my citizenship and passport. Regards
  20. I believe that for citizenship for visa 143 you are exempted from appearing English test, if you are over 60 years of age. I think than it’s time should also be reduced, comparing with other visa timing.
