  1. how about the stats for men who live with domestic violence
  2. Iv come across lemons less bitter than you.. and using the word discrimination because you don't qualify for a visa is pretty sad..
  3. Jeez I struggled to get 60 points can't imagine needing 75-80.. ends a lot of people's hopes I imagine
  4. I thought Perth wasn't classed as a regional area for 190 visa ?
  5. Perth ?.. bigger than the 500,000 but smaller than other cities
  6. I lodged mine this time last year (electrician 189 60 points ). Got a same day invite and 21 days later a grant. Seems things have slowed down a lot since then
  7. The thing is she didn't "fail" the test she just didn't score enough to get a superior score. This happens to a lot of people me being one of them. The article was very much saying the system is flawed when would she have said the same is she scored the 79+ I don't think so.. took me 4 attempts and it was disheartening each time but I got there in the end. Going to the papers about a test that thousands of people take isn't going to help the situation.
  8. yeah it does.. its a different visa so your all good
  9. sounds like your on the right road.. me and the mrs live in perth with our adopted husky jazz :-D. was quite hard not being licensed to be fair. like most i dont really have a good word to say about the gap training as its frustrating and makes life hard to find work as a "trade assistant".. luckily enough once i was licensed i managed to get a full time position working in the mines on a 2 week on 1 week off gig. currently enjoying my week off :-)
  10. hi jason i done mine last year.. electrician (general ) 189 visa.. 25 at time of application. get onto the DOWN UNDER CENTRE in london for a skills assessment (OTSR) ( they are alot better than vetasses and alot easier to get hold of). they will want everything you have in proof of quals and experience, apprenticeship certs etc etc, expect them to ask for the colour of your undies.. the skills assessment isnt much to worry about. domestic board and setup with a theory exam. the hardest part is getting to that point with the paperwork. OTSR lasts 2 years i think. if you havent thought about a migration agent then for the peace of mind its well worth the money.
  11. Some good migration agents on the forum.. there is a lot of info to digest and the cost of a migration agent is well worth the peace of mind
  12. including statutory declarations for the info that you can no longer get hold of will be suitable i.e references. as for the experience, that is most probably 4 years after you completed your apprenticeship and im pretty sure you have to have worked in that field for 3 out of the last 5 years mate as a skills assessment/visa requirement cant remember which where are you getting your points from ?
  13. hi andy, what visa are you coming over on ?
  14. NVQ 3 and minimum of 2 years post apprenticeship experience
  15. Yeah nothing that is worth stressing over. Although I did mine In Australia and a lot of the emphasis was on motors. The written paper wasn't too bad just do some revision on power factor and series parallel circuits
  16. I had a pretty simple domestic board with the usual household circuits. 3 phase induction motor you have to draw the control circuit with stop start through the DOL starter then wire it.. Fault finding safe isolation procedure 2 hour written paper
  17. Many occupations do require job offers for state sponsorship so could be correct
  18. Hes a right geeeezaaaaa
  19. and just so you are aware ,IELTS is not the only option. there is the PTE and others. I needed 8s and couldnt hit it with IELTS. i took pearson and scored almost equivalent to 9s in all and that was the test best suited to me. keep your options open if you have the choice to do so.
  20. being able to do that would be a really good representation of someones language ability lol

    remarking ielts

Hang in there. I never liked IELTS and think it's outdated and very obscure. I personally found Pearson a lot more user friendly, Realistic and precise. Wish you luck

    remarking ielts

From what I hear when people get re marked it often gets bumped .5 .
  23. complete the login asap and get started on the speaking test before anyone else as you can hear others talk around you so try get going before anyone else.
  24. i cant speak for TOEFL but PTE was the way forward for me. i took IELTS twice and needed 8s in all and just couldnt get it. I then took pearson and found it alot less stress and almost scored 100% in all categories.
  25. Most people wait until asked by dibp. I was travelling to New Zealand so had to get mine done before I was asked for them.. had my 189 a year in July
